What a fantastic term it’s been across Aylesbury and
Buckingham Music Centres! We have so many things to
celebrate…
@Waterside
On 28th February over 200 of our members took part in the concerts at the
waterside Theatre. Each ensemble sounded amazing and we’ve had lots of
very positive feedback. For some of the younger ones it was their very first
concert—what a spectacular start to their performing career. For some of our
senior members it was one of their last concerts with BLTM—going out on
a high! Well done to each and every one of you. You did us proud, thank
you
BATTLE OF THE BANDS
Huge congratulations to everyone who took part in the Battle of The
Bands final on Sunday 20th. Aylesbury Music Centre was well represented
by The Band of Gebush and the winning band was made up of students
from The Royal Latin and Buckingham School—
done White Elephant!

Having heard AyMC’s Clarinet Ensemble at
the @Waterside Concert the High Sheriff was
so impressed that she invited them to perform at a recent reception held at the new
UVAC campus. The players performed
brilliantly and impressed with their enthusiasm
and maturity.

The last Saturday of term saw
members of Junior Orchestra
pick up their instruments and
travel up to Friars Square to
perform to Aylesbury shoppers. The performance was
very well received and will
help to raise awareness of
AyMC in the community. It
gave players an opportunity
to perform a wide variety of
repertoire in an informal
venue.

Percussion Ensemble is looking for players of any instrument Grade 5
and above, particularly percussionists and drummers, who are interested
in improving their ensemble playing and who are up for the challenge of
playing a new instrument. Pick up a form from the office if you would

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to former
member Alexandra Ridout who has
won the BBC Young Musician 2016 Jazz
Award and to her brother Tom who also
reached the finals. It must have been
a tense day for the Ridout family!
Another ‘well done’ to all those members who took part in Monster
Brass earlier this month. A great day was had by all! We’re running a
Brass Day in conjunction with London Brass on 8th May at Amersham

OUT AND ABOUT (PART 2!)
String Orchestra are off on their
travels on 17th April. They are
performing at Brookmead
School , Ivinghoe at 4pm. They
are playing a lovely programme
including Bach Concerto for
Two Violins in D minor. Please
do come along and join them
for tea and cake from 3pm.
