1 An Apple a Day Presentation
Problem: The adage, “An apple a day
keeps the doctor away” may be good health
advice for many people. Dozens of varieties
of apples can be used in pies, applesauce,
juice, salads, and side dishes. Your Health
101 instructor has assigned a research paper
and a five-minute presentation on the topic
of the health benefits of eating apples. You
generate the outline shown in Figure 2-65
to prepare the presentation. You use the
outline to create the presentation shown in
Figures 2-66a through 2-66d.

Financial Planning Advice
Problem: Credit card debt is at an
all-time high, and many people are nearing
retirement age with inadequate savings.
Many students at your school have asked
their instructors and members of the
Accounting Club for advice on helping
them gain financial security. To assist these
students, the Accounting Club members
have decided to prepare a PowerPoint
presentation to show to these students.
They have given you the outline shown in
Figure 2-67. You create the text for the
presentation on the Outline tab, and you
decide to add animation effects to the slide
show. The completed slides are shown in
Figures 2-68a through 2-68d.

3 Strength Training for New Fitness Center Members
Problem: Strength training offers many
positive benefits: it builds power,
provides energy, decreases fatigue, and
improves mood, self-confidence, and
self-esteem. Additional advantages are
helping to prevent osteoporosis, burn
calories, and balance the body. Mary
Halen, the director of your campus fitness
center, wants new members to view a
presentation on strength training. She gives
you the outline shown in Figure 2-69. You
create the text for the presentation on the
Outline tab and then search for appropriate clip art to add to the slides. You are
unable to find images that are part of the
Microsoft Clip Organizer, so you connect
to the Internet, obtain clips from the
Microsoft Office Online Web site, and
create the slides shown in Figure 2-70. The
clips you find may vary from the clips
shown in Figures 2-70a through 2-70d.
You refine the presentation using an animation scheme and custom animation effects
and then e-mail the presentation to Mary.
