Assists in oral exploration and increases movement of the tongue,

Probe Tip on one end and a
Switch Tip on the other. Use
the Probe Tip for oral motor assessment and development. This end
of the handle is sealed off from the internal components so that no
saliva, water, or moisture can compromise the unit from that end. The
Switch Tip can also be replaced with any other tip in order to use two
tips simultaneously. Choose optional tip attachments (sold separately)
to create a custom therapy tool.
The Z-Vibe comes in 2 styles: with an aluminum handle OR a textured plastic handle. You can use it as the Z-Vibe with one tip, or as a
double Z-Vibe simply by unscrewing the switch end, and connecting
another tip instead. The plastic Z-Vibe has additional advantages: the
handle is more resistant to corrosion, and the colorful plastic is more
appealing to children.

This test represents a very thorough
reshaping of the Test of Auditory Perceptual Skills, Revised. The most obvious
change is that there are no longer two
"levels" of the test. TAPS-3 offers seamless
coverage for ages 4 through 18 years. It
measures what a person does with what
is heard, and is intended to be used by
speech-language pathologists and other testing professionals.
Four new subtests have been added: Phonological Segmentation,
Phonological Blending, Auditory Comprehension, and Auditory
Reasoning. New items were developed for many subtests, while
some existing test items were retained. An optional Auditory
Figure-Ground task has also been added as a supplemental
subtest presented via CD to flag attention problems and give
feedback about how the child's auditory processing system works
in "real-world"situations.

Test (APAT)
The APAT is a nationally standardized,
norm-referenced auditory processing
battery. It may be used in the identification of children who are at risk or who
may experiencing Auditory Processing
Disorder (APD). The APAT was developed using a model based on a heirarchy
of auditory processing skills that are basic
to listening and processing spoken language. These skills range
from sensation to memory to cohesion.

The DTAP is a battery of
5 item sets that measure
different, but interrelated,
aspects of auditory perception. The comprehensive
battery is designed to assess auditory perception without invoking higher order verbal reasoning or extensive memory capacity.
Items are presented via a CD to standardize presentation of the
language item sets and to include various nonlanguage sounds as
well. The DTAP uses a simple response format easily understood
and accommodated even by children in the primary grades.
Using various language-related as well as non-language-related
sounds, pairs of stimuli are presented and examinees indicate
whether the pairs are the same or different.
The Listening Inventory
The Listening Inventory is an informal
behavioral observation completed by
parents and/or teachers, a first step to
quantify behaviors to see if a child might
need evaluation for auditory disorders.
Six areas are assessed: linguistic organization, decoding/language mechanics,
attention/organization, sensory/motor,
social/behavioral and auditory processes.
