rubberand thusa snugfit of the beltevenwhenthe drumis at rest. The DGCT-SpanrMdrumdoes
not relyon centrifugal
expansion
to holdthe beltin placeand is halfthe weightof expandable
drums.
The rubberring is matchedto the precisiondrum halveswhichin turn are indexeddirecflyfrom the
arborshaftfor an extremelyhighdegreeof accuracy.This light-weightprecisiondrum assuressmooth
runningoperationfrom 1 RPMto 2400RPMand more.
INSTALLATION
Removenut and bothcollarsfromarborshaft.Installspacerprovidedwith drum- one arborshaft
collar- sandingdrum- othershaftcollar- nextnut;in thatorder.Note:Be surearow on insideof
belt is pointingin directionof shaftrotation.
OPERATION
Aftermakingsurearbornut is snug(avoidexcessive
tightening
- in mostcasesfingerpressure
shoulddo thejob),drumis readyto operate.One halfmotorspeed,about900 RPM,is mostpopular
althoughmanypreferspeedsup to 1750RPM.
CHANGINGBELTS
Removedrum from arborshaft- Pulldrum halvesfrom rubberring- Collapsering and removefrom
belt- Insertrubberringin new belt- Pressdrumhalvesintorubberring,and re-installdrumon arbor
shaft.
MAINTENANCE
The beltsuppliedwith this drum is waterproof- to wet sand,the belownotesshouldbe followed:
1. Makesurebeltsare markedWATERPROOF.
2. \/Vhenfinishedsanding,turn off waterbeforeshuttingoff arbor- the centrifugalforcewill help
dry drum.
3. Neverallowdrumto standin water.
lf rubberringwill not pressonto drum halveseasily,applya littletalcumpowderto rubber.
