The London Room
The ideal location for your next corporate meeting, cocktail soiree or intimate dining experience.
This private area can be adapted to your individual requirements, whether it be theatre style,
boardroom, cocktail or your own personal setup preference.
The London Room can accommodate up to 40 people for a sit down dinner or 60 people stand up
cocktail function. Step into our idyllic Courtyard situated adjacent to the London Room and
increase standing to 120 people.
For any group bookings, we offer a selection of specially designed set menus perfect for any
occasion.
For corporate events such as presentation dinners, day seminars and boardroom meetings, the
London Room comes fully equipped with audio visual equipment including a data projector, drop
down screen and DVD player. Flipchart, whiteboard, microphone and lectern are available at an
additional cost.
The George offers numerous amenities to ensure complete event experience. There is a venue hire for the London
Room. Please note the Courtyard is only available upon request, conditions apply. For more specific requests and
enquiries please contact our Functions Coordinator.

Terms and Conditions
1.Confirmation of Booking/ Deposit
The George does not accept any Tentative bookings. A deposit of 30% of the estimated function value is required to confirm your function booking. If the deposit and booking form are not received, The George has the
right to cancel the booking and to allocate the space to another client. Payment of the deposit is your acceptance
of these Terms and Conditions.
2.Confirmation of final numbers
Function clients must confirm final numbers 7 days prior to your function. Clients will be required to pay according to final confirmed numbers. If numbers increase on the day, the client must pay for the extra costs.
However if numbers decrease on the night the client must pay for the confirmed numbers. Please note increases
of numbers on the day of the function must be confirmed by the kitchen and may not be accepted as preparation
is completed according to final numbers received 7 days prior to the event.
In the event that food and beverage requirements decrease between 2 -7 days prior to the event management
reserves the right to charge a 50% fee will be incurred relating to the to the decrease in the food and beverage
items.
Increases in numbers with in 2-7 days prior to the event can not be guarantee until confirmed by The George
and will be charged at the full menu price.
Changes in food and beverage requirements with in 48 hours of the event may be declined and must be approved by management.
3.Cancellations
All cancellations must be made in writing to the Functions Manager. If a booking is cancelled:
 More than 28 days prior to the function a full refund of the deposit will apply
 Within 14-27 days prior to the function the client will forfeit the deposit
 Within 14 days prior to the function the client will forfeit the deposit and on The George’s request in writing,
pay up to 50% of the minimum charge.
 Within 7 days of the function the client will forfeit the deposit and on The George’s request in writing, pay up
to 100% of the minimum charge
4.Payment
Personal and company cheques will only be accepted with prior approval and funds must clear 2 days prior to
the date of the function. Any outstanding balance will be charged to the credit card provided on the authorisation form. Any balance not paid within 24 hours results in an immediate 3% fee.
5.Minimum Spends
The George reserves the right to apply minimum spends where an area is specifically allocated for a function.
The amount will be outlined in the confirmation letter if applies. Minimum spend requirements must be met
before conclusion of the event and are in addition to room hire charges. If the minimum spend is not met, the
difference will be charged as venue hire.
6.Change of Venue
In the event of unforeseen circumstances or any alteration to numbers, The George reserves the right to change
the allocated area to another suitable area. Every effort will be made to discuss the change with the Organizer
well in advance.
7.Consumption of Outside Food and Beverage
No food or beverage of any kind will be permitted to be bought into the venue by the client or any other person
attending the function unless by prior arrangement with The George.
8.Equipment, Decorations and Entertainment
To personalise your function or for a unique atmosphere we are more than happy to arrange special equipment,
decorations or entertainment through our range of suppliers. Charges will apply dependant on the arrangement. For all functions including hens or bucks nights there is to be no inappropriate paraphernalia. All personal belongings are asked to be collected at the conclusion of your event. Unfortunately there are not facilities for
storage of these items on premise. The George is not responsible for any items that are lost, stolen or damaged.
9. Labour Surcharges
Some events, which run after midnight, on a Sunday or Public holiday, may incur $100 per hour surcharge or
part thereof.

10.Price Variation
Every endeavour is made to maintain our prices as originally quoted. If any change occurs we will notify you
immediately.
11.Access to venue
The client may be allowed access to the venue one hour prior the commencement time if practical. This includes DJs, musicians, event organisers and suppliers. The George requires 24 hrs notice for access.
12.Additional Meals
Meals must be provided for all bands according to the national award. Meals can be purchased at The George
prices.
13.Extras
Extra beverages or food purchased during the function will be finalised upon completion of the function.
14.Signage
Nothing is to be nailed, screwed, stapled or adhered to any wall, door or other surface or part of the building.
Signage in The George’s public bars must be kept to a minimum and must be approved in writing prior to the
function.
15.Security
The client is responsible for conducting their function in an orderly manner and in full compliance with state
laws. The George reserves the right to eject any guests if their actions are deemed to be noisy, offensive or illegal. A security charge of $50 per hour applies to functions over 50.
16.Dress Code
The George has a strict dress code so we strongly recommend you consider this when deciding on a suitable
venue for your event. We also suggest you include the dress code on invitations to the event when booking The
George and consider cocktail style/lounge suit dress code for your clients/guests. No sneakers, skate shoes,
work boots, or thongs are allowed.
17.Supply of Alcoholic Beverages
The George reserves the right to refuse supply of alcoholic beverages to any guest that are deemed to be under
legal drinking age, intoxicated or behaving in an offensive manner. Minors must be accompanied by a parent
or legal guardian. No stockpiling of drinks is permitted.
18.Arrival Time
To avoid delay in entry, guests must arrive within 1 hour of the scheduled booking time. The booking time is
stated on the Function Sheet.
19.Responsibility
 You assume full responsibility of the conduct of your guests and invitees, and you must ensure The George’s
other guests and visitors are not disturbed by your function, guests or invitees.
 The client is financially responsible for any damage to the venue that is caused as a direct result of their negligence only.
 General cleaning is included in the cost of the function, however specialist cleaning fees resulting from actions at your event will be charged.
 The George does not accept responsibility for damage or loss of goods left on the premises prior to, during or
after your function unless caused by the negligence of The George, its employees, agents or contractors.
 A bond may be required before your function is approved.
20.Right of Refusal
In the Fireplace Lounge there are to be no speeches under any circumstances. This is due to the fact that it disrupts the venue during service.
Management reserves the right to refuse entry to any patrons who are inappropriately dressed, intoxicated, or
behaving in an offensive manner.
Without limiting any other rights The George has at law, The George may terminate the function if you and or any
of your guests or invitees fail to comply strictly with these terms and conditions; or an event which is beyond the
reasonable control including, without limitation, an Act of God, industrial relations action, a terrorist act or an
accident) prevents the holding of the function.
It is the responsibility of you, the Organizer, to inform all guests of The George’s Terms and Conditions.
