The structure waiting for funds for the roof The structure completed in September 2012 Combating human trafficking in Oregon, USA Members of five Eastside Rotary Clubs and one Rotaract Club, ie Williamette in District 5100 are combating human trafficking prevalent in the Portland of Oregon, USA by flooding hotels and motels with thousands of small soap bars labelled with aNational Trafficking |Hot-Line number. Trafficked victims can call that phone number for help from local law enforcement to move them to safety. Any contact is also being made with area schools to display posters there There are also stickers for display with the national Trafficking Hot Line number in public restrooms and other suitable locations. Specific events eg marches, fundraisers in local restaurants have also been planned in the past and in the future in order to raise awareness, educate the public on human trafficking and raise funds to continue their outreach. The five Rotary Clubs participating in the scheme are Albina, Central East, East Portland, Northeast Portland and Southeast Portland.
