Autumn Has Fallen
ow that Fall is upon us, it brings lower seasonal temperatures and an opportunity to enjoy the country outdoors
of our wonderful community without the heat.
Diamond Bar is home to one of the best park and trail systems in
Southern California, with many amenities including basketball
and tennis courts, playgrounds, Dog Park, and athletic fields
that provide fun year round. Fall provides cooler temperatures
that are ideal conditions for hiking, and residents have ample
trails to choose from. There is also a new online interactive
map of our trail system, so you can see the degree of difficulty
of a trail before trying for the first time. If you have not tried
it, the Summitridge Park Trail provides the best loop in the
classes, special events and beautiful weddings, parties, and
private events. The Center has undergone renovation im-
provements, including new carpeting, audio/visual upgrades,
and a new conference room. In addition to the Center, the
Heritage and Pantera Park Community Centers and picnic
shelters are available for rental. For reservation information

I am proud to announce the annual Fall Fun Festival and
Haunted House at Heritage Park. The Fall Fun Festival will be
held on Thursday, October 31 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. at Heritage
Park and will offer a fun alternative to trick or treating. The
event is recommended for children two to eight years old, and
will include prizes, games, and candy. The Haunted House
will be held at Heritage Park on Wednesday and Thursday,
October 30 & 31 from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is $5 and you can
download a special “buy one get one free” coupon for October

A few weeks ago I was grocery shopping
here in Diamond Bar and was com-

When I went to pay for my purchases
the cashier informed me I did not need
to pay. I looked at her with a confused
expression on my face.
“But you just scanned all my groceries,”
I mentioned.
She looked back at me with a large grin
on her face and said, “the gentleman

for your groceries.”

Diamond Bar AYSO is a region built by
volunteers. Without the full support of the
parents and family members, the organi-
zation would not exist. AYSO offers two
seasons of soccer. The Fall season, known
as the Core Program, runs from mid
August through November. The Spring
season or “Selected Season” is designed
for those players
that are interested in playing soccer year
