This document provides installation instructions for Web Launcher 2.8.1, that accompanies
ASX Austraclear Release 5. Installation of Web Launcher 2.8.1 is mandatory and it is must be
performed prior to the Austraclear Release 5 Go-Live if the Browser Deployment method is
used.
Web Launcher 2.8.1 refers to the installation file called EWL_2_8_1.msi that will be
available for download on the ASX Austraclear Release 5 login web page.
The msi file requires .NET 4.5.2 framework to be installed as a prerequisite, otherwise
installation will not complete.
Web Launcher R1753 refers to the older installation file called
EWL_1.3.1_58_X8632_R1753.msi that is available on the ASX Austraclear Release 4.5
login web page.

What is the Web Launcher
The Web Launcher is a software component that is installed as part of the Browser
Deployment model for ASX Austraclear. It allows the user to launch the ASX Austraclear
GUIs using a “one click” method by clicking on the link on the ASX Austraclear web page.
It installs client applications and provides progress feedback as each installation task is
completed. If a new version of a client application is available, the Web Launcher will initiate
its download and indicate the size of the file being downloaded. Once the client application
has been downloaded, the Web Launcher will launch the application. A splash page will be
displayed followed by the login prompt.

Installation Procedure
1.
Uninstalling Previous Web Launcher versions
It is important that you DO NOT uninstall the R1753 version of the Web Launcher Software prior
to installing the latest software version 2.8.1. The new Web Launcher can be installed alongside
the old Web Launcher. Please ensure that local administrative rights of the PC are given to the
user performing the installation. Both versions are needed up until Go Live of Release 5. After Go
Live, the R1753 version of the weblauncher can then be uninstalled.
2.
Installing Web Launcher 2.8.1
NOTE: To install Web Launcher 2.8.1, Administrative rights to the PC are required.
The installation may need to be completed by the appropriate IT/PC support staff.
1.
Web Launcher 2.8.1 is available on the ASX Austraclear Release 5 website:
https://asx.austraclear.com.au/Release5/ for the Production Environment or
https://asxta.austraclear.com.au/Release5/ for the Test Environment.
Click on Download Web Launcher
2. Click on Save, and save the Web Launcher Installation to a suitable directory e.g.
C:\Temp or your Desktop. (DO NOT click Open rather than Save)
1. A Download Complete Box advising that the software has been successfully saved
will appear, click on Open and the EXIGO CSD Web Launcher Setup Wizard
appears, click Next.
2. You are able to specify the location in which the WebLauncher is saved. The default
is: C:\Program Files\ASX\EXIGO\WebLauncher\
Install WebLauncher for everyone who uses the computer – click “Everyone”
Click on “Next”. The EXIGO CSD WebLauncher will commence installation.

Installation must be performed by a local administrator of the machine. If you get prompted by
User Account Control, then enter in the local administrator credentials.

Installation will proceed.
At this point, if your PC does not have .Net framework 4.5.2 installed, then the installer will
prompt you to install it. .Net framework 4.5.2 is required to use Weblauncher 2.8.1.

3. When the installation is complete, click Finish to exit.

4. To confirm that the EXIGO CSD WebLauncher has been installed, you can do one of
the following:
a. Control Panel and click on Programs->Programs and Features
EXIGO WebLauncher v2.8.1 should be listed under Currently installed
programs
b. Confirm that EXIGO CSD WebLauncher folder has been created.
C:\Program Files\ASX\EXIGO\WebLauncher
5. After Go Live of Release 5 Austraclear, to manually uninstall the EXIGO CSD old
WebLauncher Software, go to Control Panel and click on Programs and Features.
Choose EXIGO CSD Web Launcher R1753 and then click Uninstall.

FAQ
1) Does Web Launcher 2.8.1 work with the current version of EXIGO (Release 4.5)?
Answer: No. R1753 version of the Weblauncher is required if you want to launch the
Release 4.5 GUI. Weblauncher 2.8.1 is only used to launch the Release 5 GUI.
2) Will Web Launcher 2.8.1 work if I am running Windows 7 or 8?
Answer: Yes, It is compatible with Windows 7 or 8. Please note that XP is no longer
supported, as .Net 4.5.2 cannot be installed on XP.
3) Can Web Launcher 2.8.1 be installed whilst Web Launcher R1753 is still installed in
the machine?
Answer: Yes. Both Web Launcher versions are allowed to be installed per PC. This is
recommended as a transition from Release 4.5 to Release 5.
4) Is it mandatory for a user to upgrade the version of Web Launcher?
Answer: Yes, it is mandatory that version 2.8.1 of the Web Launcher is installed prior
to Go live of Austraclear Release 5.
