FUCHS committed
to a good cause
RUN 350 is Southeast Asia's premier eco-run in support of the
global 350 movement. This movement aims to raise awareness
of lowering atmospheric CO2 levels to 350 parts per million,
which scientists believe to be the level required for Earth’s sustainability. First held in 2010 at Pulau Ubin, RUN 350 saw
1,000 runners participating in the race. In 2014, its popularity
increased and attracted more than 12,000 participants to the
21km run. Singapore’s FUCHS Silkolene distributor, Chong Aik
International, sponsored the Course Security SG (CSSG) Task
Force with FUCHS Silkolene motorcycle products. This task
force was a group of 18 volunteer marshals who aided the
event organizers, participants and members of the public to
ensure a smooth course of the event and safety on the track.

Byrne victorious at Oulton Park
to extend lead
The Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki Team continued their brilliant start to
the 2014 MCE British Superbike Championship season at Oulton
Park with triple MCE BSB champion Shane Byrne taking his third
win of the season. Having taken a double victory at Brands Hatch
over Easter, the 37-year-old Londoner was confident and grabbed
the lead in the opening 18-lap race on lap one. Aboard his Kawasaki ZX-10R Ninja, he had the situation under control and crossed
the line in front of his main rival Josh Brookes, to take his 54th
MCE BSB career victory. Paul Bird, Team Owner: "If anyone had
offered me those results at the start of the weekend, I wouldn’t
have believed it. Oulton Park has always been a very strong track
for the Yamaha so for “Shakey” to win race one and come so close
in race two was a fantastic achievement and to leave with a 30
point lead is a bonus.”

Excellent presentation of FUCHS
FUCHS LUBRICANTS attended the Automotive Tradeshow held on April 2014. It was the
first edition of the Automotive Tradeshow, which took place in the city of Utrecht. The
main difference with other fairs is that mainly trade visitors from the automotive and the
automotive supply industries came to this fair. The visitors were all professionals with clear
expectations. “We placed a FUCHS Superbike as an eye catcher at our stand. Niels Fijn
(our pilot who races in the Dutch Superbike Championship) was willing to make his spare
bike available. This beautiful TenKate Honda CBR 1000RR in full FUCHS colors will participate in a couple races, including the Gamma Racing Day. This prestigious event will take

FUCHS Silkolene:
brand looking good at the MMEC
The Mountain Motorbike European Championship is contested
across six courses throughout Europe and the 2014 season will
feature races in Austria, Italy, Switzerland and France.
The first race was a great success with more than 270 riders
tearing around Austria’s Landshaag circuit, while a crowd of
over 8,000 came to admire the skills of these impressive
competitors as they took on the 3.6 kilometers of winding
Austrian mountain road. FUCHS AUSTRIA SCHMIERSTOFFE
is involved not only with the racers, but also with the organizer MSC Rottenegg. Markus Kollenz from application engineering was one of many FUCHS staff on site to present
products from the FUCHS Silkolene range and answer questions from the numerous visitors.
GREAT BRITAIN
A new challenge
for FUCHS TITAN
The Britpart MSA British Cross Country Championship is the
UK’s premier off-road racing championship. For BCCC rounds,
competitors typically complete 10-14 runs of a 6-8 mile course.
The courses are usually based on forestry land and generally consist of gravel forest roads interspersed with technical offroad sections. The championship takes place over six rounds,
with the final round to be held in Walters Arena in South Wales
on the 25th and 26th October. Contesting this Championship in
a Milner LRM-1, FUCHS TITAN Race-sponsored Land Rover
Evoque, driver Ryan Cooke had a great start to the 2014 season, setting the fastest run time of the day on day one. Offset by
an off on the first corner, Cooke crossed the finishing line in a
solid ninth place. Round two, held near Ebbw Vale, saw Ryan
fight back from electrical problems on the opening run to take
the chequered flag in fifth place. The BCCC moves to Scotland
for the next round (on 7/8 June), with the crews heading to the
Forrest Estate course in Dumfries and Galloway.

FUCHS OIL CORP. SPOL S.R.O. has signed a partnership agreement with driver Václav Schejbal for
a commitment to the World Drag Racing Championship. A contender for the title, Schejbal will represent FUCHS Silkolene on a Honda VTR 1000
specially designed for this type of sprint. The first
race of the season took place in Hoškovice at the
beginning of May. Up against 50 teams from all
over Europe (the Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Finland),
the FUCHS driver excelled to take second place on
the podium.
The Long Track Speedway World Championship race in the Czech Republic
took place in Mariánské Lázně in May, a thrilling one-kilometre race at
speeds of over 160 km/h on motorcycles with no brakes!
“Josef Franc, our FUCHS Silkolene Racing Team rider, is the reigning race
champion and a long-time participant in this GP series. In 2014, he triumphed once again, eclipsing seventy other riders to take the title. Second
place on the podium went to Richard Wolff, a distinguished rider who uses

FUCHS leaves its mark on WSBK
with three sizeable teams
In 2014, FUCHS LUBRIFICANTI became involved with three exciting
and prestigious teams competing in the FIM World Superbike Championship. The teams will race under the FUCHS Silkolene colors as
they take to international circuits such as Philipp Island in Australia,
Sepang in Malaysia and California’s Laguna Seca course, with the 13
-race season coming to a head at Losail in Qatar on 2 November.
There is a real European feel to the teams, whose drivers hail from
Spain, Great Britain, France and Italy and all are looking forward to
making their mark on these legendary races. Atop an Aprilia 1000cc,
with top speeds verging on 320 km/h, the Spaniard Toni Elías is
making his debut for Red Devils Team Roma. Among his opponents
are the two riders from the BMW Motorrad SBK Team. Leon Camier
and Sylvain Barrier from the Great Britain and France respectively,
who have their sights firmly set on picking up podium finishes on the
BMW S1000 RR EVO (Camier replaces Barrier since his second accident in March). Meanwhile, Althea Racing Team’s Niccolò Canepa,
riding a Ducati EVO 1199 Panigale R 1000cc, will surely be putting
his ample talent to use in his bid to win the title. It all makes for a
competitive and thrilling season, with the riders intent on holding
nothing back.
At the age of 26, Genoa-born Niccolò Canepa joins the 2011
World Superstock Champions Team Althea, who had previously
clinched the title through the efforts of Davide Giugliano.
“Ducati have entrusted us with developing the 1199 Panigale R
in the new EVO class. We’ll be using all of our experience to
support our rider and compete at the highest level”, explains
Team Manager Genesio Bevilacqua. As for Canepa, he hopes to
be able to make full use of the power at his disposal. “I’m really
familiar with the 1199 Panigale R as I rode it in 2013, which
will put me in a position to be competitive right off the bat.
We’re aiming to be a constant presence in the leading pack.”

a surprise pairing
The team has succeeded in putting together a triumphant
twosome, as Sylvain Barrier, twice world champion in 2012
and 2013, joins the Italian team for the fourth year in a row,
together with Leon Camier, himself British Superbike champion in 2005 and 2009.

Catalan racer Toni Elías was crowned Moto2 World champion in 2010 and currently boasts a record including 17 GP victories and 30 podium finishes. He is one
of a very exclusive club of riders who’ve won in four different classes and in 2014
he will bring his undoubted skills to bear with Red Devils Team Roma, a professional outfit made up of twelve people including a top team of technicians. Following the third GP in 2014, Elías sits eleventh out of 23 riders from all over the world.

FUCHS Star Moto Team
dominates the opposition
At the wheel of their Chevrolet S-10, the FUCHS Star Moto –
G1 Racing team brought home a third victory of the season.
As they took on the challenging course, Łukasz Komornicki,
Ernest Górecki, Maciej Stańco and Artur Kołodziej succeeded
in overcoming a number of pitfalls thrown up by the Baja
Carpathia Polish rally (part of the Polish Championships and
the FIA CEZ Championships). “It was yet another successful
race for our new car. Baja Carpathia is a very difficult rally.
We managed to prove that our new cars are at the same
level as a BMW X3, Nissan Navara or Hummer Evo, which
are being driven by more experienced drivers”, explains Łukasz Komornicki. Meanwhile Maciej Stańco, a FUCHS stalwart and a regular on the high-speed circuits of the Polish
Championship, wears a wide smile: “I’m very satisfied with
the success of our team. We had some technical problems in
our car, such as a failure with the power steering, but we
managed to finish the race in 5th place in the Baja Carpathia general classification. The fact that our team mate Łukasz Komornicki won the race was a huge plus. This victory
proved that our team can hold their own against the best
teams in Europe!”

20th Volkswagen Prague Marathon
Some 9,500 runners from 91 countries took part in the 20th International Marathon
in Prague. The course is spectacular, introducing runners to the best-known sights of
one of Eastern Europe’s most beautiful medieval cities as well as the River Vlatava.
“Prague is one of the world’s most picturesque marathons. Our colleagues from
FUCHS Poland, Adam Jagoda and Adam Sokół, covered the 26-mile, 385-yard distance in 4:24:41 and 4:45:21 respectively”, enthused Artur Całka, Marketing Specialist at FUCHS OIL CO. SP Z O.O.
A run through the streets of Katowice
The twenty-first Wojciech Korfanty Run took place in Katowice on 26 April. FUCHS
was well-represented in this race, with a number of FUCHS colleagues taking part:

Tip Top Racing:
pursuing a new challenge
Hervé Hagnéré, from Upper Normady, discovered the adrenaline rush of motorcycle racing at a very young age, spending
several seasons in motocross. He soon developed a passion for
mechanics, servicing his own motorcycles and sharing the
benefit of his skills with other riders. He rose swiftly through
the ranks at the biggest constructors, with the Yamaha and
Kawasaki teams in turn handing over the maintenance of their
motorcycles to him. In 1996, he set up his own maintenance
and repair shop. The leading makers come to him for specific
orders. “My versatility and technical expertise mean that I can
tune engines and suspensions as well as manufacturing my
own parts. I like the 2T, which produces good results with few
resources”, he explains. Nicolas Delcourt has been one to take
advantage of this offer, entrusting Hervé with his motorcycle
over the last few seasons. This approach paid off when Nicolas
put in a sparkling performance on a YZ125 for team MJC to
take the French Junior Championship and the title of European
Vice-Champion. The two men then decided to join forces,
founding the Tip Top Racing. The team has an impressive core
of skills, talent and knowledge and its partners are going from
strength to strength. Yamaha Europe, FUCHS LUBRICANTS and
a host of other sponsors are joining the team.

Kawasaki Bud Racing rides
a wave of success
April brought triumph and podium places for the KBR team.
In women’s racing, Meghan Rutledge took her third podium
place in Italy, in the second GP of the FIM World Women’s
Motocross Championship. Spaniard Jorge Zaragoza moved
into first place in the European 250cc Championship following the Bulgarian GP. For Valentin Tallet, his third-place finish in the Super Final at the last GP means secured him
fourth place in the MX1 Championship. In MX2, Lyon’s Benoît Paturel, MX2 Champion of France in 2013, took the
third spot on the final podium after an injury before the final
GP. The youngest member of the team, Brian Moreau,
claimed third place in the current French Junior Championship rankings.
