Great success at the 2010 ZOW exhibition
It was this year's leading event in Europe: the ZOW supplier exhibition
in Bad Salzuflen in February was once again a magnet for the European
furniture and accessories industry as well as for cabinetmakers and architects. Approximately 19,000 visitors flooded to the exhibition halls to
experience first hand the latest developments and trends along with
tried and tested products.
The globally successful GRASS group of companies was, of course, also
present. The group's fresh yet tradition-rich brand showcased an exceptional variety of product innovations, which meant that the stand in Hall
19 was always very busy. The visitors, from various parts of the industry, had come mostly from Europe and were inspired by the outstanding GRASS products. It is therefore understandable that GRASS
employees like to recall the exhibition and are more than happy with the
way the company presented itself. "Many customers and prospects came
specifically to our stand to hear about our fittings in detail, and to try
out the true comfort provided by our movement systems for furniture,”
says Head of Marketing Andreas Marosch, commenting on the success of
GRASS at the exhibition.
Tiomos – the hinge for the door of the future
Tiomos in particular caused a stir because the new hinge generation sets
a new benchmark. Maximum strength, variable damping and elegant
design are just some of the outstanding characteristics of this new hinge
system. In addition, there is the Soft-close damper which offers different

levels of adjustment and is fully integrated within the hinge housing.
Just like a Swiss timepiece, the complex inner workings of this high-tech
hinge are concealed from view and impress with their unique damping
characteristics. The closing process is even throughout all phases of the
movement, and fully continuous. And this applies from an opening angle
of 20°, irrespective of the size and weight of the door. The kinematic
mechanism inside Tiomos is also unique: thanks to optimised leverage
movements, furniture doors open effortlessly. Furthermore, this permits
unprecedented alignment with minimum gaps.
Every corner is a curve – Quaturis Swing
Visitors looking for a comfortable solution for standard base cabinets
again found the answer at the GRASS stand, this time with Quaturis
Swing. This fitting complements the already comprehensive range of
high-quality corner cabinet systems from GRASS with another extremely
functional addition. A special swivel mechanism enables the ergonomically shaped shelves to swing out from the corner cabinet almost all of
the way, thereby offering optimum access to the storage area. The fact
that the lowest shelf is moved automatically when the door opens is not
only a delight to watch, but also places the contents immediately within
reach. The shelf is now fully accessible for loading and unloading. The
closing process works like a dream, as all the shelves automatically
move back into the cabinet when the door is closed. Needless to say,
gently damped by the Soft-close mechanism.
Dynapro slide system – individuality, not uniformity

The fact that innovative movement solutions from GRASS have a great
tradition was once again demonstrated by Dynapro. The new concealed
slide for full-extension drawers is the answer to all discernible trends in
the furniture industry: from high, handle-free fronts, wide drawers and
individual drawer designs in different materials, through to increasing
demands for functional characteristics – Dynapro is the perfect slide
system for modern furniture. Unlike conventional concealed slide systems, Dynapro is the only fitting worldwide featuring a synchronisation
mechanism. This mechanically controlled parallel motion of the slides
guarantees superior comfort, which GRASS drawer systems have become known for. With Dynapro, the slide rails move without unpleasant
noise and resistance; Dynapro's exceptional running characteristics remain unchanged even under heavy loads. Loads of up to 60 kg present
no problem for the system. Wear-resistant plastic rollers ensure that
movement is always smooth and even. The icing on the cake in terms of
comfort is the minimal pulling force required and the closing action with
its Soft-close damper.
