Establishment of training programs
designed to enable unit personnel to
acquire skills that could qualify them for
higher level positions.
All employees have access to in-house training programs for the development of their
technical expertise. Examples include: new hire safety and disconnect training,
installation training, troubleshooting and advanced troubleshooting, senior tech training,
system tech training, CB training, etc. Additionally, Charter pays for employees who
chose to participate in technical training courses through Jones NCTI and SCTE.
Supervisors and managers participate in training to develop their leadership capabilities
and prepare them for career advancement. Leadership courses have included:
Performance Management, Civil Treatment for Managers, Reinforcing Leadership
Development, Your Leadership Journey, Coaching for Peak Performance and
Communicating for Leadership Success. All employees may utilize the company's tuition
assistance program to pursue a degree through local universities.
Provision of training to management
level personnel as to methods of
ensuring equal employment opportunity
and preventing discrimination.
Supervisors and managers participate in a variety of training programs designed to ensure
fair and equal treatment of employees, including: Civil Treatment for Managers, Fostering
Mutual Respect and Interviewing Skills.

Charter Communications arranges comprehensive training
programs for all new Direct Sales Representatives (8 day)
and Customer Sales and Service Center
Representatives/Store Associates (28 day) enabling
acquisition of skills to qualify them for higher level positions.
Additionally, through the self assessment Career
Progression Program, Representatives and Associates are
able to self promote to Store Specialist positions.
Supervisors and managers participated in a variety of
training programs devised to assist with leadership
development and policy administration skills. Offerings
provided at various times during this plan year included Your
Leadership Journey, Reinforcing for Leadership Success,
Leadership Connect, Advanced Leadership Connect,
Effective Hiring, Performance Management, Civil Treatment
for Managers, and Strategic Leadership (for Directors and
above). Charter Communications requires that new
employees complete the following training within their first
month of employment: Harassment Prevention in the
Workplace, Information Security and Privacy, Records and
Information Management, Wage and Hour, and Charter's
Marketing Privacy Preferences.
