Club Information
The membership committee would like to thank all
the members who have referred friends and
associates for our "Discover Stonebridge" Preview
Initiative.
Letter to the Members
I am very happy to say that summer is finally here. This is
the busiest time of the year. Throughout the club this
year we have brought on over 60 new employees for the
season. Searching, interviewing, hiring, paperwork is all
done in a few short weeks by one person, Ariana Stelter.
Some of you know Ariana and what a wonderful employee
that she is, but many of you may not. She is our human
resource professional on staff. She is a large reason that
we can go from a small staff to a large staff in such a
short period of time. This month Ariana passed her
certification test to become a Professional in Human
Resources, PHR trough the society of human resource
management, SHRM She did all of this studying during
her busiest time of the year. We are very proud of her
accomplishment. We are also very lucky to have her on
staff with the wealth of knowledge that she possesses
regarding Illinois employment practices. Congratulations
Ariana!
Remember that there are just 15 days before the Discover
Preview Program is over. 38 people have joined under
this program this year. There are just a couple of weeks
left, let anyone you may know that time is running out.
June 15th is the deadline for all applications to be turned
into the club.
New patio furniture has arrived! We are very excited with
this new look. You won’t be disappointed dining outside.
Join us Tuesday’s for Burgers, Saturday and Sunday for
Patio Lunches, and stay late any night and enjoy a glass
of wine around the fire pit. Any members staying late
around the fire pit, complimentary s 'mores will be
available for you to enjoy. They will be catered by the
staff for you to enjoy at your convenience.
Over the past two years we have brought in over 100
families! What an incredible accomplishment!
The club will not be offering this type of "Discover
Stonebridge" membership promotion in the future
including the reduced initiation fees as well as
rebates to new members and sponsor members.
But it's not too late! The rates and credits are
available to all members who sign up by Saturday,
June 15, 2013. Please make sure your candidate
submits the admission documents as soon as possible
in order to secure the lowest available initiation fee
and 24 months of credits for your family and theirs.
Please welcome the following new members:

Please note this friendly reminder regarding the clubhouse
dress code. We know the summer months can be very busy
and we ask that you refer to the rules and regulations for an
outline of the appropriate club attire.
Article IV Section 5. Attire. (update 5/25/2012) In the Dining Room, Grill and
Men's Grill, Patio, Pool Country Club casual attire is permitted. (b) Since it is
impossible to stipulate in these Rules and Regulations the type of clothing which
may be appropriate for particular activities (i.e. ethnic or theme activities) all
Members are expected to observe the intent of the dress rules, the use of common
sense, and cooperate accordingly. Men must wear shirts with collars. Tee shirts,
sweatshirts, hooded sweatshirts, jerseys, sweatpants, basketball shorts and other
athletic attire not appropriate for golf are not allowed for men or women.
Appropriate denim wear is permitted in such areas. “Appropriate Denim” is
defined as denim that is free of excessive wear, holes, stains, or frayed edges. The
definition of “appropriate” denim will be at the discretion of club management.
Gentlemen must remove their hats. Excessively short shorts are not permitted and
is determined the discretion of Management. Children under the age of 10 are at
parent’s discretion; however no uniforms or sports apparel is appropriate.
Members are expected to advise their guests of the dress requirements. The
decision of management as to appropriate attire will be final.
From the Kitchen
The mighty Copper River
is one of the swiftest and
most
rugged rivers in Alaska.
Twisting and cutting
deeply through the Wrangell and Chugach Mountains, it's 300-mile stretch
of pristine glacier-fed
waters are riddled by
hundreds of rapids.
Every May around the
15th, the first salmon of
the season return to the rivers and streams of Alaska with the Copper
River being one of the first. King, Sockeye, and Silver Salmon embark on
their long journeys up the Copper to spawn and lay their eggs. As salmon
start their journey up the river and prepare to spawn, their feeding habits
diminish.
Because the Copper River is so swift, they must store extra fat and oils in order to
survive the long trip. This high fat and oil content is why Copper River salmon are
recognized as some of the world's best-eating salmon.
For the next few weeks this wonderfully tasty and good-for-you salmon will be on
the dinner menu:
Char-Grilled Sockeye
Sockeye Salmon Char-Grilled, Served on Yukon Gold Lobster Mashed Potatoes,
Sautéed Baby Spinach, and Topped with Charred Pineapple Relish
So please come to The Club, and try this treat before it is gone for another year.

Soil injection of insecticide at base of a Ash tree for
Emerald Ash Borer
Nels Johnson Tree Experts were here to
treat the Ash trees on Monday May 20th,
and Wednesday and Thursday, May 29th
and 30th. All the Ash trees that were
treatable were treated with three separate
treatments using three different
insecticides. The first treatment was a
topical spray with a penetrant, this was
sprayed on the whole tree including the
bark and canopy, including the leaves.
The second treatment was injected into
the soil around the base of the tree, and
the third treatment was injected directly
into the tree, all three treatments have
shown some degree of success against the
Emerald Ash Borer and this treatment
program was recommended by Kris
Bachtell from the Morton Arboretum and
Dave Conrad, a Certified Arborist from
Nels Johnson.
