The Kincardine Yacht Club maintains the lighthouse as a maritime museum during the summer months. Tours include the keeper’s quarters and the tower up to the light with an interesting display of artifacts and memorabilia related to Kincardine’s Maritime past displayed throughout. Paddy Walker was a renowned innkeeper and entrepreneur, and one of the original Kincardinites. Paddy’s colourful exploits are the stuff of local legend. His boarding house and tavern was one of the first structures erected in Town and it is the oldest surviving building in Kincardine. Nearly razed by fire in 1995, a dedicated group of citizens has since restored the Walker House reopening it in 2008 as a heritage centre and local museum. Experience over 100 years of telecommunications as Bruce Telecom guides you through a historical timeline tour. Bruce Telecom, owned by the Corporation of the Municipality of Kincardine, was once a subscriber-owned system dating back over a century ago. Since 1991 the system has been operated as a public utility under the management of a Council appointed Municipal Services Board. Offering a complete suite of telecommunications services including voice, internet and television programming to both residential and business customers, Bruce Telecom continues to be a significant local employer that provides ongoing support to many community focused organizations in the Municipalities in which they operate. Located in the heart of downtown, just steps from the lighthouse, beach, harbour and marina, this boutique hotel is a showpiece. An eleven room addition was completed in 2012 through the conversion of the adjacent late 1800s building, part of which is now the lobby for the hotel. Further renovation in 2014/2015 sees the remainder of the property brought up to the same caliber and on display to the public for the event. Check the website above for year round webcam views!
