Half
started and wow was it
amazing! We got right
onto our chichichichichi
with some waves and
turns and we had arrived!
Now as most
people are aware, some
with tags some without, it
is the 9 days and we are
not going swimming, so
how are we splashing and
sliding one may ask. And I
will tell you, it is not with a
rubber ducky or with a
wet pet groundhog? It is
with
water
activities
Merockdim style! Bunk 3
sure knew what we were
talking about! That is for
sure!
But the question
really is, is the weather ok
for us to do water
activities when we would
go swimming in that
weather or will added
weight
add
to
the
wetness??
We all know that
Merockdim loves doing
things in our style and that
usually comes with ruach

Monday what an amazing water park
adventure it was! On our first day of
second half, we blew up many water
balloons, thanks ZC, Raizy and Teety
and got ready for some water races!
First each bunk had a catch with a
water balloon and we watched and
waited to see who will drop it first!
Whoa was it a tough one! Then in our
next race 2 girls from each bunk stood
back to back with a water balloon in
between them and raced to one end
of the blacktop and back! Fun was
definitely had by all!
Tuesday brought more fun to our
fantastic merockdim fevers! All bunks
sent up 3 girls and had 4 clothes pins
(or was it push pins??) attached to
their shirts in the back. Then they ran
even if we scream with a
kiki or with a boom, we
will either take it to the
splash way or we will
scream and slide and that
is why this article has this
title and it is not because
of the camp song that
worked really well!
So as I point out
the wonderfulness that
will
always
be
in
Merockdim let us scream
and slide! Join the ride!

Wow! Girls were running around,
staying in the boundaries and the
laughing was nonstop! Hallie Gordon
collected 12 clothes pins and Ariella
Greenblatt collected 11!! Wow prizes
were given and ices were licked!
Wednesday Our water adventure
continued with water hockey!! We
spread a very large tarp on the grass
and girls were called up to represent
their teams, thunder and lightning!
They used their feet as sticks and a
bar of soap was the puck! Our very
special counselors, Yael Pollack, Sara
Katz and Esti Dembitzer were our
goalies! Then with a soap filled tarp,
we began kicking around the soap

slipping and sliding, lightning took
home the win!!
Also on Wednesday, we had
bunk day! As it was a new half with
new campers and new staff we sang
our camp song taught it to all our
newbies and oldies and were excited
to hear each bunk’s name and cheer!
All the bunks made signs to represent
their bunk and dressed up too! We
have our bunk 1-Little Dippers, twinkle
twinkle! Bunk 2a-2b Coaster crazies
chichichichi Bunk 3-Super dooper
loopers, so loopy! Bunk 4- BizzarosAhh we are on top! Bunk 5a-5b 5
Flags, Elites-Small World, some
countries definitely represented! What
a day! Thank you counselors you guys
are simply and utterly awesome!

Thursday After much prep and
a couple of shopping trips,
thanks Atara and my car with
Splenda in the creases thanks
to our nearful ZC, our Elite
Carnival has arrived.
All the Elites prepared by
designing signs to hang up by
each booth. Then they set up
the tables around the gym and
really got to it!
We had many booths,
we had sno cones! With blue
juice on top with some ice! We
had wet the face, a licorice race
with Hallie wonderfully peeling
apart each licorice, and no our
race was not like that Miriam!

Monday: As it was the 9 days, a
milchig menu would be had all week
and so we started with ziti! With brand
new bunk and brand new counselors
the ruach was a boomin! We said a
boom chica boom! Then we had 4
counselors, Miriam, Kiki, Tamari & ESTi
come up for a water gun race! TO hit
the target was to spray directly in the
mouth! And the winners were chosen
based on who was the least wet! We
had Rena, Hindy, Rivka and Tova also
getting
very
wet
with
some
malfunctions on the way! After an all
winner benching we were on our way
to the next activity!
Tuesday: Afer eating some yummy
bagel sandwhiches, we rocked the
lunchroom and had the elites asking
who had ruach??!! Then it was time for

race,
guessing
how
many
chocolate chips are in a spoonful
of marshmallow fluff, guessing if it
is coke or pepsi, racing who can
get all the pennies out of the
flour, shaving the balloons, and
even face painting and manicures
too!
All the bunks were able to
do the booths over over and over
again! Whoever won races were
given tickets and placed in a raffle
for a big prize! Congrats to the
big winner of…wow!

chicken one which had saying haha!
Leora Dembitzer told us about

green, yello? HA! And Mimi W and
Chani F gave us some dr pepper! HA!
Tziporah Pizcower told us to make
HAadma on Merockdim joke scuz they
are all corny!! All were simply and
utterly Highlarious!! Off we were to
bench and fluff it up!
Wednesday:
After
saying
heeenaaaayyyyy, we called up Sara
Rubin and Sara Haymov to play a
game of tipple topple, which had the
entire camp in suspense!! Each cup
they pulled had us saying OIMG!
Badamp! When they were down to just
10 things that are mushy:
1. Chocolate lentils
2. Tribalas

6. Aliza’s Boojie
7. Atara’s yogurt

a few cups, Sara H. toppled the red
cup on top and Sara R won! Whoa this
game got the heart racing!!
Thursday: Today after an almost
visitor, we began a game of the food
game! But first we ate some food of
fettuccini alrfredo! Haddasah Pine
came up and went up against Esther
Stein with Esther not repeating
cupcakes! She went up against Avigail
Rosenberg with Avigail the declared
winner! In our next round, Tova
Proctor our undefeated champion
went up against a very capable Kayla
Grunwald with a debate on cherries
and then against Leora Dembitzer with
Tova our remaining champion! So far!
Bunks 1 & 2A took benching to the
next level! Wow! Great job! Thank you
Penina for the offer too!

article to be written, who do
you call? Non Julio! Cuz that
might mean one might fall
asleep on the job. Firstly,
when writing an article, you
need to send a smiley face to
those that would approve all
articles. Once you have
received approval, topics
must be discussed and then
the writing can begin.
First we have to think
about

A beautiful nonrainy week for
activities under the sun and in the
rooms too cuz we need to sit at
tables when doing so!
In Shiur we discussed being
maaviro al midosav, the importance
of forgiving, moving on and being
careful not to hurt other people.
In Arts and crafts all bunks
were busy busy creating! Bunk 1
started a modeh ani project, 2-flower
mirror. Bunks 3-started a hanging
heart project, 4-finihsed their really
incorporate all the fun stuff
that goes on in good ol
Camp Merockdim. So should
we talk about playing water
hockey? Or that we went on
a water adventure? Played
with water balloons? Walk on
wet grass? Maybe we can
put in somewhere something
about rumors that are
unfounded but always are
there. Is my car in the
driveway or isn’t it?
Talking about rumors,
cute ice cream pillows .Bunks 5made colored link bracelets and
Elites started to create jewelry
stands!
In Food decorating all the
bunks made sanwhich cookie
flowers! Yummy to eat and yummy
to look at too!
In CREATIVELY YOURS, was
so exciting! In jewelry design, bunks
1-2 made beaded bracelts bunks 3-4
made camera charm holder and the
elites made necklaces! In food
design we made chocolate covered

leaving?? Or people thinking

We could probably talk
about that all day, but then
the article would take up the
newsletter and that’s what
would make NonJulio happy.
But at this point the article
would be finished!

bunks began designing their own
picture frame plaques!
We reformatted our league
teams, made some trades and began
playing 2 games each day!! What a
blast, each team plays one ball game
and one floor game! All are fun and
the sportsmanship continues to be
outstanding!
Picture Day was on Tuesday
B’H all bunks were photographed in
their Merockdim t-shirts so that this
wonderful Merockdim tradition lives
on!
