Ingener was created fifteen years ago, as a
result of an innovative concept: to accompany
the client, after works were completed and
delivered, in the efficient operation and the
preservation of its infrastructure value.
Thanks to this work model, which linked
construction and preservation from the
beginning, we are able to boost both areas,
gaining a global vision of things and offering
more efficient maintenance solutions, planned
from the design stage.
We want you to learn about Ingener through

services the company carried out and provided

Tres Cruces Bus Terminal &
Shopping Center Expansion
Project
Our Work
The Tres Cruces Complex
was inaugurated in 1994.
It included a bus terminal
that operates short, medium
and long distance local and
international tourism buses
and a shopping center joint to
the terminal. Tres Cruces is
built on a 43,000m2 surface
of which 24,000m2 were
built until 2011, when the
expansion project began,
adding 26,498m2 built to the
shopping area.
Medium and low voltage
system installation.
Works included the installing
of panels, conduction systems,
wiring, lighting, the expansion
of the existing substations, the
installing of a new 1250 kVA
substation and the installation
of the air conditioning system
(four chillers, five handlers, and
the water distribution system).
Tres Cruces, a transport hub
of enormous relevance for
the country, trusted Ingener
to install its energy network
and HVAC system.

Nuevocentro Shopping
Center
Project
Our Work
Nuevo Centro is Montevideo’s
latest mall. Due to its location
and building characteristics,
with over 72,000m2 of
surface designated to
shopping space, it is destined
to become a milestone in the
city’s development, changing
Montevideo’s commercial
scenario
Electric & lighting Networks
and HVAC.
Works began in 2011, along
with the center’s construction,
installing all electric ducts,
followed by the wiring and equipment set up. The electric system works included installing an
UTE substation and two private
ones, a general control room
and five technical rooms. The
works demanded 120,000m
of cable, 64 panels and 5,000
lamps.
The thermal system works included: installing a central engine room with three cooling units
with 410 TR heat recovery,
and seven secondary operation
rooms. Works demanded the
installation of 10 air conditioning control units, 65 injection
& extraction ventilators, 1,800
of cold water distribution pipelines, and 6,300m of ventilation ducts in the center´s
floors.

It was a challenge to
optimally combine the
most modern techniques
with respect for cultural
heritage.
Carrasco Nobile Hotel
Project
Our Work
Carrasco Nobile, the company
in charge of restoring and
rehabilitating Montevideo’s
Carrasco Casino Hotel, is
comprised by Codere and
Argentina Gaming Group
(AGG). Accor group’s most
prestigious 5-star hotel
brand, Sofitel, will be
responsible for the hotel’s
operation.
Inaugurated in 1921, the
hotel is one of Montevideo’s
emblematic buildings.
Installation of the electric
network, fire-fighting system
and weak currents.
In the beginning of 2010, when
works began in this emblematic building, Carrasco Nobile
trusted Ingener for the electric
installation and adapting of the
temporary system for construction. The service was the
first step towards the award
of turn-key contracts in 2011
for the electric installation, the
Building Management System
(BMS) - which enables the monitoring of the building’s main
facilities - and of the Data and
Telephone network. The works

involved installing two 1,000
kVA 6.3/0.4 kV transformers,
70,000m of pipelines to
channel wiring, 130,000m of
cable, 180 boards and 10,000
interior and exterior lighting devices; the fire-fighting system
included 7,000m of 1”-6” pipelines, two 55kW electropumps
and a network comprised of
2,000 spriklers.
This was a particular project
due to the attention that the
technical work required to
preserve the building’s restored
historical elements.

World Trade Center 4
Project
Our Work
World Trade Center 4 is
part of the World Trade
Center Montevideo complex,
the city’s successful new
business center. It is also
the city’s highest private
corporate office building and
the second highest, after
state-owned Antel Tower.
Electric installation of the
local World Trade Center
complex’s Tower IV.
Local Architecture firm Kimelma-Flom hired Ingener in 2010
to carry out the electric installation of the WTC complex’s
Tower IV, comprised by 42
floors and 4 underground
levels.
The project involved carrying
out the building’s grounding
grids and atmospheric discharge structures; installing
connections embedded in slab,
pillars, floors and dry-stone
wall for the electric, telephone,
CCTV and fire extinguishing
networks; setting up the grids,

and mounting cells and a lowmedium voltage transformer
in the UTE substation facility;
the assembly of two substations for HVAC and general
services, as well as of busbars
and the corresponding switchboards in every floor. The company also installed the general
low-voltage switchboard, its
interconnection to the transformer and power generators,
the layout and connection of
all general lines, and installing
lighting and completion pieces
in every.

Project
Our Work
ANCAP - Uruguay’s national
administration for fuels,
alcohol and portland
cement - is a state-owned
company whose business
involve fuel, lubricants, gas,
alcohol and portland. AESA
is an Argentine company
wholly owned by YPF S.A.
that provides engineering,
construction and operation
and services of plants and
oilfields, focused mainly on
oil, gas and petrochemicals.
Electrical power plant and
implementation of the fuel
desulphurization plant.
Ingener took part in the project
form 2010 until 2013. Works
included tasks in two major
fields:
The electric installation,
which involved the set up of
the substations, the electric
connection of all equipment,
and the plant’s lighting system.
Works demanded 10,034m of
cable trays, 98,000m of low
and medium voltage cables and
12,168m of galvanized iron
pipes.
The plant’s instrumentation
including construction works
and the commissioning of
equipment, which required
113,700m of multipair cable,
5,433 cable trays and 2,749m
of galvanized iron pipes.
ANCAP’s fuel
desulphurization project
consists on three plants next
to the firm’s La Teja refinery.
One plant is in charge
of the desulphurization
of gasoil, another of the
desulphurization of gasoline,
and the third to recover the
extracted sulphur and convert
it to liquid form, producing
40 tons/day that is sold to
industries such as fertilizer
manufacturers.

Project
Our Work
ANCAP, an icon of national
industry and culture, trusted
Ingener with the construction
of a new Fire Pumps facility
and with the remodelling of
the existing one, both located
in the La Teja refinery.
Expansion of the Fire Pumping Room building and installation of a new motor pumps
system at La Teja refinery.
Works began with the executive project for the civil, mechanical and power installations.
Ingener executed the contract
signed with ANCAP, leaving the
new fire fighting pump system
at the refinery operative.
The contract involved the civil
works to expand the building
that holds the fire pumps,
located on the inlet where the
water intake system is located,
and whose construction was
also included in the contract.
Mounting works included the
installation of two fire motor
pumps with their corresponding fuel reserve tank and
pipelines of up to 12” designed to handle a 13 bar pressure and installed by qualified
mounters and welders from
Ingener. In addition, a firefighting system was installed
and the fire pumps room’s
electrical installation was
renewed.
For this project, we joined our civil engineering
and electromechanical expertise to build and
install a high-tech fire pump system.

Our Work
ALUR (Alcoholes del Uruguay)
is a sustainable agro-industrial company that generates
high economic and social
impact through the production of sugar cane, ethanol,
biodiesel, electric energy and
animal feed.
ALUR is part of Uruguay’s
Ancap Group.
The project included works in
the company’s new ethanol
facilities located in Ancap’s
Juan Lacaze, Durazno and
Treinta y Tres fuel plants.
Works involved developing
the electric, civil and control
engineering for the new ethanol facilities in Ancap’s Juan
Lacaze, Durazno and Treinta
y Tres fuel plants.
Ingener developed the detailed
engineering and carried out
civil works and control and
electric installations, working
in permanent coordination with
ongoing mechanical works and
Ancap’s technicians to implement the new ethanol systems
installed in the oil loading facilities of Ancap’s Juan Lacaze,
Durazno and Treinta y Tres fuel
plants.
Pipelines and installations
were laid and carried out under
explosion-proof standards, to
guarantee the optimum and
safe functioning of this Class
1-type facility.

ALUR
Capurro Biodiesel Plant
Project
Our Work
ALUR, a subsidiary of
Uruguay’s state oil company
ANCAP, trusted Ingener
once again to take part in the
construction of its second
biodiesel plant, located
in Montevideo’s Capurro
district. The plant’s goal
is to help the country gain
energetic independence and
will produce, once concluded,
65mn litres/year of biodiesel.
The continuity of our work
with ALUR is proof of mutual
trust and good results.
Electric Installation Development & Plant Instrumentation.
Ingener was in charge of the
auxiliary installation of all of
the plant’s tanks and valves.
To do this, the firm carried out
mounting works, as well as the
installation of equipment and
switchboards, along with the
corresponding wiring. Ingener was also in charge of the
electric installation, testing
the equipment and engines
installed and of installing the
electric boards to serve all
devices.
Works also included the set
up and startup of the 6.3/0.4
kV medium voltage substa-

tion and 6 kV wiring. Because
the project requires a Class
1 (Refinery) quality, pipelines
and installations are explosionfree, in order to guarantee
optimum performance and the
highest safety level.

Nueva Palmira
Project
Our Work
Uruguay’s National Port
Authority, ANP, is a stateowned entity responsible for
the regulation, operation and
administration of Uruguay’s
ports. ANP hired Ingener to
carry out works in Nueva
Palmira. Located on the
Uruguay river’s shore, in the
northwest side of Colonia
department, Nueva Palmira
is the country’s second most
important port terminal
in terms of tons of cargo
handled, following the port of
Montevideo. It is also the port
with the highest expansion
rate.
Ingener’s role in the terminal
included carrying out the
facility’s lighting works,
installing electric plugs,
building an ANP-UTE
connection post and 30-0.4
kV substation in the port..
Civil and Electric Executive
Project.
Ingener carried out the electric
and civil executive project, the
expansion and renovation of
Nueva Palmira port’s power
electric installation and lighting
systems, the construction
and equipment of a 30/0.4 kV
substation, the construction
of an UTE-ANP connection
post and switchboard room.
At the same time, Ingener
took charge of the supply
and setup of the material
to carry out the project: low
voltage conductors, medium
voltage cells, two 1,000 kVA
transformers, lighting columns,
switchboards, electric
plugs, and lightning rod and
conductors, among others.

Booster, Aguas Corrientes
Project
Our Work
Uruguay’s state-owned water
utility (OSE) is responsible
for drinking water supply
in all of Uruguay, and for
sanitation services in all of
the national territory, with the
exception of the Montevideo
department, since 1952.
In 2011, construction firm
Saceem was hired by OSE
to carry out Rivera city’s
third water distribution
network and to install the
Gran Bretaña booster.
Subcontracted by Saceem,
Ingener installed the
electric system, the control
system and provided the
instrumentation for the
booster’s operation. This
project’s general goal was to
increase OSE’s distribution
capacity from Rivera’s water
plant and perforations to
the city’s water distribution
storages (Cerro del Marco
and Cerro Marconi).
Installing the booster’s
electric system. Installing the
control system and frequency variators.
Ingener’s role consisted in
installing the booster’s electric
system, installing the control
system and the supply, installation and commissioning of
239 kV frequency variators for
pumping activities. We were
also in charge of providing and
installing all the instruments
used in the booster (flow meters, pressure sensors, level
sensors an PH sensors). We
installed a redundant control system for the booster’s
automated operation. Ingener
carries out the programmed
maintenance of the substations that feed the plant
and booster, and carries out
weekly inspections in different
areas to guarantee the proper
functioning of the water pumping system that serves 62%
of the local population.

Emergency Generation System
Project
Our Work
APR Energy is a multinational
company that provides
custom-made and expandable
electric energy supply
solutions anywhere in the
world. In June 2012, the
company trusted Ingener to
install four 25 MW electric
generation turbines in the
Colonia Wilson district,
to serve UTE, the stateowned entity responsible
for promoting, regulating
and administering electric
energy in Uruguay. The
extremely tight deadline and
the high quality standards
became a great challenge.
This, together with the
project’s multidisciplinary
aspect, which included civil,
electric and mechanical
engineering, became a huge
test for Ingener. The client’s
satisfaction over the work
delivered was confirmed then
Ingener was hired to carry out
the second phase of works,
which involved installing an
additional four 25 MW mobile
turbines.

del Tigre power plant and one
of 100 MW in UTE’s La Tablada power plant.
La Tablada: works consisted on
installing four 25 MW mobile
turbines, foundation civil works
for fuel tanks, centrifugal
machines, 150 kV equipment,
and four 11 kV fields, among
others.
Works also included the manufacturing and assembling of a
gas oil pipeline, interconnections, and HDPE pipeline. In
the electrical field, connecting
generators to the 11 kV fields
and from there to the 150 kV

fields, up to the UTE network
connection.
Works in Colonia Wilson included the works described in La
Tablada, as well as eight 25 MW
turbines – two of them fixed,
with broader convergence; therefore, they required two large
12 m deep, 39-pile concrete
bases, and two 80 MVA transformers. Works also involved
installing the water demineralization system and fuel pipelines to serve the La Tablada
turbines, which will be installed
in the future. The company also
expanded the existing 150 kV
power station.

Toledo & Itapebí Substations
Project
Our Work
UTE - Uruguay’s state-owned
power company responsible
for the supply, regulation and
administration of electric
energy in the country – called
a tender for the construction
of a 30/15 kV station in
Toledo, a district located
in the country’s Canelones
department, but integrated to
the capital city’s metropolitan
area. A 30/6 kV station
functioned at the site. Ingener
was selected to carry out the
works. A similar project, in
the Itapebí district, located
50km from Salto city, was
also awarded to Ingener. This
time, works consisted on the
construction of a brand new
30/15 kV station.
Civil Works and
Electromechanical Assembly
and Mounting.
Ingener’s responsibility in
district Toledo cosisted on
demolishing a 6 kV grid and of
the existing building and the
construction of a new building,
paving and transformer
tank. The electromechanical
assembly and mounting
included the mounting of cells,
switchboards, automated
system transformer, battery
bank and cable-laying.
In Itapebí, works were
practically the same, with the
exception of the demolition
phase.

Dolores High Voltage Substation
Project
Our Work
Uruguay’s state-owned
power company UTE
launched a public tender for
the construction of a 150
kV transmission station
to be located in Soriano
department’s Dolores district.
Ingener was awarded the
project.
Civil works and
Electromechanical Assembly
& Mounting.
Works began in October
of 2012. Ingener was
responsible for the project’s
total implementation.
This multidisciplinary
initiative mixes the civil and
electromechanical projects,
and included soil movement,
the foundations, the mounting
of the concrete structure, the
construction of the command
building, roads, the assembly
of 150 kV equipment,
switchboards, medium-voltage
cells, stringing of conductors
and connections, to the
commissioning of the facility,
together with UTE personnel.
Works demanded 1,000m3
of concrete and 31,839kg of
steel to pave 2,000m2 in a
10,748m2 work surface.

Air Liquide
Our Work
Air Liquide entered the
Uruguayan market in 1991
through Air Liquide Uruguay,
after purchasing local firm
CINOCA S.A. With solid and
ongoing presence through the
whole country, the company
produces and sells gases
destined to the industrial,
health and environmental
sectors.
Ingener was approached
to install the firm’s Oxygen
Gas Production Plant. The
facility supplies oxygen to the
company’s electric oxygen
furnace.
Ingener was in charge of assemblying a gaseous oxygen
production plant in a site
owned by firm Gerdau Laisa.
Works included low and medium voltage electric installations and instrumentation, as
well as the installing of auxiliary equipment.
For the plant’s assembly, works
included installing the pressure
reduction and flow metering
train along with installing instrumentation; setting up a 19
t oxygen compressor; building
a 1”-10” pipeline network to
resist pressure of up to 30 bar;
the clean up of pipelines, meeting the highest regulations
established for oxygen-related
equipment; and the grounding
of regular interval pipelines to
protect them against atmospheric discharges and static.
Two medium-voltage cells were
installed: one was placed in
the steel mill and the other in
the oxygen plant substation. A
1,250 KVA power transformer
was installed in the Air Liquide
substation.

client trusted the company
to carry out the plant’s MdP
project.

System, Ingener installed over
90 instrumentation signal and
area control remote switchboards, and delivered the

of 35 km of fiber optic used to
communicate the control switchboards to the Main Control
Room (MCR).
In the case of the Fire Prevention System, Ingener put its
vast experience in drawing up
piping plans, the laying of over
15 km of piping and 60km of
cable, as well as equipment
installation. Honeywell, on the
other hand, was responsible
for providing the equipment
and the facility’ commissioning,
with the support of Ingener
personnel. In many cases, works included low-height cable
laying. Ingener contributed to a
project that is vital to the plant,
as are the information and
safety managing areas.

Pulp Mill, High Voltage Substation
Project
Our Work
Montes del Plata (MdP) is
a forestry firm founded
in 2009, whose goal is
to produce and export
eucalyptus-based cellulose
pulp to the world’s leading
markets, basing production on
efficiency and sustainability.
MdP was created through
the association of two large
forestry firms: Chilean
company Arauco and
Swedish-Finnish company
Stora Enso. Today, the
company holds a modern
pulp mill facility that includes
a port terminal and an
energy generating unit using
renewable resources.
Development of two 150 kV
Substations.
In September of 2012,
Ingener delivered Montes del
Plata’s first finished project:
the facility’s own 150/33 kV,
60 MVA substation, in a 120
m2 switchboard built area.
These works were followed by
the construction of a larger
150 kV outdoor substation,
with an area of 400m2,
which became property of
UTE in Punta Pereira. Finally,
the two substations were
interconnected through a 150
kV underground cable system.
Both substations were
developed from scratch,
meeting contract deadlines
and budgets established,
showing great capacity of
project development and
execution. Works took nine
effective months for the two
stations, reaching a maximum
work force of 135 direct
employees.

Our Work
Electric installation and
instrumentation of the
plants that comprise the
MdP complex.
Works involved the electric
installations of various
plants (water intake, fuel oil
distribution and management,
cooling tower, turbines,
engine control, and mechanic
shop) and the interior
distribution grid; assembling
forty-eight 33 kV mediumvoltage cells to take in and
distribute energy; using 30km
of cable to install the mediumvoltage electrical wiring;
assembling transformers;
and commissioning of the
previously described.
In terms of instrumentation,
Ingener made use of its
vast implementation
experience, providing and
carrying out various Hook Up
instrumentation circuits.

Ingener carried out the
project and subsequently
provided the operation and
maintenance service for the
temporary 15 kV network,
of MdP’s facilities within
the Punta Pereira free zone,
and the maintenance of the
housing facilities serving
project personnel in the Colonia, Carmelo and Conchillas
districts.
The 15 kV temporary networks has a 9,500 m of
underground cabling, 3,000
m of air cables, and with fifty
MdP 15/0.4 kV services . All
of MdP’s low-voltage installations, 12 km of perimeter and
road lighting and 30 power
generators are located within
the facilities.

maintenance consists on the
following: integral maintenance of all the camp’s temporary
installations; maintenance of
the construction installations,
with fifty portable bathroom
batteries.
Two H-type buildings, one

350 work stations and one
canteen with capacity for

housing units with capacity for

Project
Our Work
Zonamerica is one of
Uruguay’s most important
technology and business
parks. This modern free trade
area includes a 200,000m2
area infrastructure equipped
with paved roads, and it is
home to over 280 companies
that employ almost 8,000
people.
Integral Maintenance
For over a decade, and through
an in-house management
model, Ingener has been
responsible for the operation
and maintenance of part
of Zonamerica’s proper
functioning, being in charge
of the park’s electric power
distribution, carrying out the
operation and preventive and
corrective maintenance of the
medium and low-voltage grid.
The network is comprised
by seven 30 kV substations,
with a hired power of 7 MW.
Ingener’s staff is responsible
for the indoor and outdoor
lighting of common areas; for
recording user and common
area power consumption; for
electric repairs; and for the
installation, programming and
calibration of the electrical
power meters, among others.

- UPM is Uruguay’s largest
pulp mill. With presence in
67 countries, the company
counts production plants
in 17 countries and holds
approximately 22,000

Integral Maintenance of the
Plant.
Ingener provides plant
maintenance services,
which involve civil works,
power, the maintenance of
the lighting network, and
engine lubrication, among
others. Ingener’s on-site team
operates 24 hours/day, 365
days/year, in order to adjust to
the plant’s rhythm. The facility
welcomes 360 trucks/day and
produces 1,100,000t/year of

Electromechanical Operation
& Maintenance.
The monthly service provided
by Ingener includes: managing
the terminal’s reefer operation and monitoring during 24
hours/day, every day of the
week (24x7) and the availability of two reefer technicians.
Monthly reefer connection
and disconnection service,
including the connection and
disconnection of reefer units
during the terminal’s operations according to the programming provided by TCP’s
operation management. On
the other hand, through its
in-house management model,
Ingener is responsible for the
operation and maintenance of
the low and medium-voltage
grids of an area of more than
35 hectares. The medium-
voltage system includes five
substations distributed in the
terminal’s container yard with
voltage from 31.5 kV to 3 kV
with a total installed power of
33 MVA.
Works also include the maintenance of seven gantry cranes, each with an associated
substation.
Works in the low-voltage grid
include power supply to 2,578
reefer sockets (refrigerated
container monitoring system),
30 lighting monopoles with
a height of 30m each, two
logistics storages with an area
of approximately 8,000 m2,
shops and offices.
