In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Rudolf Steiner, the Eurythmy Association of Great
Britain and Ireland is pleased to present in English translation a full staging of Rudolf Steiner's Cosmic
Poetry for Eurythmy of August 1915. Composed for eurythmy, this series of cosmic verse presents an
imagination of anthroposophical cosmology in artistic form.
For this anniversary the Eurythmy Association has commissioned new and revised translations of the
original German texts and commissioned new accompanying music. The full programme will include:
"Cosmic Measure" (for 9 eurythmists) Choreography by Rudolf Steiner

"Planet Dance" by Rudolf Steiner (a re-working of the version for 15 eurythmists) Choreographic
indications by Rudolf Steiner

The "Twelve Moods" have been staged in English only in the last decade, under the direction of Hajo
Dekker (London). The "Planet Dance" and "The Song of Initiation — A Satire" have never previously
been staged in English. This staging in eurythmy will be a World Première of the complete programme
of Rudolf Steiner's Cosmic Verses in English.
The eurythmy staging has been facilitated with the support of Ursula Zimmermann (Dornach) for the
"Planet Dance" & "Twelve Moods" and of Michael Leber (Stuttgart) for the "Cosmic Measure" & "The Song
of Initiation — A Satire". Their sharing of knowledge of and insight into these verses has been a valuable
source of inspiration.
The company comprises 19 eurythmists, 4 speakers, a pianist and lighting & technical crew.

1 May 2011 — Michael Hall School, Forest Row, Southern England
8 May 2011 — Camphill Rudolf Steiner Schools, Aberdeen, Scotland
15 May 2011 — Ringwood, Southern England
22 May 2011 — Botton Village, North Yorkshire, North-East England
28 May 2011 — Barbican Theatre, Drogheda, Ireland
3 June 2011 — Rudolf Steiner House, London, UK
12 June 2011 — Wynstones School, Gloucester, South-West England
In Forest Row, Aberdeen, Ringwood, Botton Village, Drogheda and Gloucester, a full day's workshop and
study will be offered on the Cosmic Verses.
The day will comprise:
Morning: Demonstration & First Performance
Afternoon: Lecture; Workshops in Eurythmy or Speech Formation
Evening: Second Performance (open to all).
The day in Drogheda will be hosted by the Anthroposophical Society in Ireland.
