It was back in 1960 that Thetford transformed the leisure market for once and for all with the very first
camping toilet. In the following years, Thetford introduced numerous innovations aimed at holiday comfort.
You may be familiar with the first portable toilet, the ‘Porta Potti’. Followed by the first Cassette Toilet and the first toilet
entry in the care products series. The permanent toilet is another approach from Thetford for mobile sanitation.
This built-in toilet is connected with the vehicle’s central water tank and waste tank. Many solutions for mobile sanitary
equipment followed. In 2008 and 2010 the Cassette Toilets C-250 Ceramic and the C-500 were even awarded with the major
German Caravanning Design Award, presented by the Caravan Salon in cooperation with the famous Red Dot design agency.
Along with these, we have developed many things throughout the last 40 years, solidifying Thetford’s position as an expert

the waste-holding tank is about two thirds full, and it shows
you when the tank needs to be emptied.

Simply dose the waste-holding tank with a Thetford Toilet
Care product (e.g. Aqua Kem Green) using the built in
rotating emptying spout.
For models that have their own flush-water tank, you also
need to fill this tank. Depending on the model, open the
water-filling door or the access door 5 to add flush-water
fluid (Aqua Rinse) and fill up with water. The toilet is now
ready for use.

This is the most comfortable, practical, and durable portable toilet that doesn’t have to be connected to a drainage

How does the Porta Potti work?
The toilet consists of two sections: the upper section is a
combined flush-water tank and toilet bowl with detachable seat
and cover. The lower section is the waste-holding tank.

The Bravura is the luxury gravity permanent toilet. This toilet has a larger seat
and bowl, and improved flush function. The single foot pedal facilitates the

Macerator toilets from Tecma, the macerator toilet brand of Thetford, are known for having the finest china toilets
and a quiet, reliable, yet powerful waste transfer system that allows black water waste tanks and toilets to be
placed anywhere within the recreational vehicle.
Waste is then drained off outside the caravan or motorhome.
The great advantage of our Tecma macerator toilets is the fact
that the grinding pump fits back behind the toilet.
Our quality macerator toilets make use of the grinding principle
as shown below. The toilet is a floor mounted, fresh water flush
toilet. Flush water for the toilet is drawn from an independent
pressurised water supply, like the vehicle´s central water tank.
Waste is released into a permanent black water waste tank,
which need not be installed below the toilet. The macerator
pump allows for a flexible position of the black water tank
because the macerator can pump the waste from 90 metres
horizontally and even 11 metres vertically.

available in two different sizes, namely the standard height model and the short
height model for installations that are mounted on top of a raised step. The special
geometry at the back allows for easy installation against both straight and angled

the technology inside the toilet is further developed to keep the sound emission
to the lowest level possible, while limiting the water and electrical consumption to
