attend the graduation ceremonies at the Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine,
and the Cornell University Commencement during the weekend of May 25-26,
2013.
Please accept my personal congratulations as your son/daughter approaches the
successful conclusion of his/her veterinary education at Cornell. The quality of
our students is a source of great pride to us all, and we feel exceptionally
privileged to work with such an outstanding student body. We congratulate you

SEVERE WEATHER TICKETS – Commencement 2013
The Commencement Ceremony will be held outside at Schoellkopf Stadium on Sunday,
May 26, even if it is raining. There are no tickets required for the outdoor event, and there
is no limit to the number of guests who may attend.
SEVERE WEATHER PLAN
However, if the University enacts its Severe Weather Plan, it will be due to potentially dangerous weather, torrential
downpour, high winds, lightning, or unsafe conditions for guests to sit outside. The ceremony will then be moved indoors
to Barton Hall and will be divided into two ceremonies. Please check the enclosed tickets for your severe weather
ceremony time. (This indoor event will take place ONLY in the event of severe weather.)
SEVERE WEATHER TICKETS
Enclosed are your 4 Severe Weather Tickets:
2 tickets are for Barton Hall for the live ceremony (see on map below)
2 tickets are for large-screen viewing locations on campus (see on map below)
Because indoor seating is very limited, entrance to indoor locations will be by Severe Weather Ticket ONLY for families
and guests. Graduates should report to the Barton Hall ceremony location and do not need a ticket.
REPLACEMENT TICKETS
Tickets cannot be replaced, nor can we issue more than 4 per student, as indoor seating is very limited.
Please be sure to bring your Severe Weather Tickets with you to Ithaca.
FAMILY MEMBERS WITHOUT A SEVERE WEATHER TICKET
We realize that this fair and equitable ticketing system may leave some families with fewer tickets than desired. We thank
you for your cooperation and understanding of our space limitations. Please note that if weather conditions are severe
enough to move the ceremony indoors, then some family members may prefer to remain in the comfort of a home or hotel
to view the ceremony on local television (Time Warner Cable channel 16) or online at www.cornell.edu. No doubt the
entire family will enjoy getting together later to celebrate your graduate’s achievements.
