ILC Hire provides equipment hire at very low rates. In order to maintain this service to people with disabilities and those
who assist in their care, it is important that:
 Hire fees are paid on time
 Equipment is kept in good order
 Equipment is returned by the due date
Note:

Some items will not be able to be hired unless the user has the support of a relevant health professional in relation to equipment
prescription and use
 Some groups of equipment may be designated for use by a specific demographic only eg school aged children
Procedures
 Contact ILC Hire to see if the item is available immediately or will need to be booked
 Information including the user’s name, age, address disability etc, as well as invoicing and delivery details, will need to be
provided
 If the item is available immediately, arrangements for collection and payment will be determined. If the item is not immediately
available the designated contact person will be informed as soon as it is
 It is preferred that payment by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card be made at the time of hire.
 If you wish to extend the hire this must be negotiated in the week prior to the return date. This may be possible as long as
payments are up-to-date and there are no bookings for the item
Collection
 Collection or use of your own courier is preferred. However, if this is not possible staff will arrange couriers. Courier charges to
and from the ILC will be charged to the client or the designated individual/service.
Repairs
 ILC Hire must be informed immediately of any damage or breakdown. Repairs will be organised by ILC Hire. Costs will be born
by ILC Hire unless the damage is caused by misuse, negligence or lack of appropriate supervision.
Outstanding Accounts
 Individuals will be denied further access to ILC Hire services if accounts remain outstanding.
Trial Before Hire
 If therapists are unsure whether equipment is suitable, an appointment may be made with ILC Hire staff to bring in the client for
a trial. If this is not possible therapists may, for some items, take the item to their client at no cost if it is returned that same day.
Hire Fees
 Fees currently range from $15 - $250 for a 4 week period
 No item attracts a minimum hire fee of less than $15 even if hire for 1 day only
