THE MODEL OF THE YEAR?
1/18 Scale CMC
Maserati Tipo 61 ‘Birdcage’ - Camoradi Team (1960)
In May of 1960, under the guidance of Team Manager Piero Tarrufi, Stirling Moss
and Dan Gurney co-drove Lucky Casner’s Maserati Tipo 61 ‘Birdcage’ to victory in
the grueling 1000km of the Nurburgring in rainy conditions. It is said that Gurney’s
middle stint in heavy fog was a masterpiece, perhaps the best driveof his illustrious
career. Nearly a half century later, CMC Models has produced a masterpiece of it’s
own. Their 1/18 scale Camoradi ‘Birdcage’ Maserati consists of 1,140 single parts,
507 of which are made of stainless steel, copper and brass. Of all the models we
have offered over the years, this is perhaps the finest. Our customers were amazed
at the model’s level of detail and production quality. Early buyers sometimes spent
months on waiting list for this piece. We offer immediate delivery for a limited number of ‘Lucky’ collectors.............................................................................. $245.00
1/6 Scale GMP
Ferrari 250 GTO Engine
Our vote for the most unique model of the year goes to
GMP’s 1/6 scale roaring replica of the 3 litre V-12 Ferrari
GTO engine. This isn’t your everyday ‘static’ display piece
on an elegant cherry wood base. Remove the acrylic dust
cover and hit the start button. Listen to the raspy mechanical sound of the V-12 as it warms up. Then gently
grasp the miniature shift lever and work your way through
the 5 speed gearbox to a symphony of beautiful noise.
It’s great fun and a beautiful addition to your den or office. Limited to just 1,500 examples.................. $499.95
1/48 Scale Carousel 1
Franceso Baracca
Nieuport 11 Bebe
Another unique item for Ferrari enthusiasts is this
excellent model of Franceso Baracca’s World War
I Nieuport. Baracca was Italy’s top ace in the Great
War and a native of Modena. After he was killed
in action, Baracca’s parents presented a young
Enzo Ferrari with the ace’s trademark ‘Prancing
Horse’ insignia, which Ferrari placed on the side
of his race cars. The ‘Cavalino Rampante’ became
the most recognizable emblem in all of
motorsports. An excellent addition to your collection of Ferrari models or memorabilia.......$69.95

Sports Car Championship, captured by the works Gulf Porsche
917s. Narrated by John Wyer himself, it’s an exceptional record of that landmark season. 65 minutes total....................................$39.95

In 1954, Mercedes-Benz returned to international

scored victory after victory but after the LeMans
tragedy of 1955, the company had a change of
heart and withdrew from the sport once again. Here
is the story of that brief period, produced by the
late Chris Nixon from original footage from the
Daimler Benz archives. 72 minutes..............$39.95
