The College
Academic Programs
Ivy Tech Community College is the largest institution of higher education
in Indiana, and the largest community college system in the nation with a
single accreditation. Ivy Tech has 23 campuses throughout Indiana that
serve nearly 200,000 students annually. Ivy Tech also is Indiana’s largest
workforce training provider, offering nearly 20,000 certifications and one
million hours of training annually.
Ivy Tech is governed by a 14-member board of trustees appointed by
the governor. Under terms of the legislation, the members represent
various economic interests: manufacturing, commerce, labor, agriculture,
education, and the public at large. This board appoints the president of the
statewide college. In addition, Ivy Tech North Central, like the College’s
14 regions throughout Indiana, has its own seven-member board of
trustees, whose members also represent varied interests.
Ivy Tech Community College is accredited by the Higher Learning
Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Because the region is economically and geographically diverse, the
College’s academic and training programs must be equally varied. This
includes rapid response to needs of emerging business and customized
training programs for employers as well as academic programs that enable
