June 15: Monday

This safari will provide you with the opportunity
to view, study, and photograph the richest
concentration of wildlife and birdlife on the
continent of Africa in a spectacular array of
habitats, ranging from
snow-capped peaks of
Mt. Kilimanjaro and tropical forests, to grassland
plains. You will also explore the rich cultural
traditions of the diverse peoples of Tanzania. This
is the great opportunity for photographers,
nature and cultural enthusiasts and also for those
who are for the sustainable development of local
communities. Zighe on this expedition. The safari
will be guided by local professional and
naturalists safari guides.
Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport in Moshi. On arrival you
will be met by To Africa Tours representative who will escort
you to your hotel. A late night snack will be provided. Overnight
at Kigongoni Lodge located on an historic 70-acre coffee farm
near Arusha, amid natural forest. Sitting on a hilltop with lush
gardens, the lodge offers breathtaking views of Mt Kilimanjaro
and Mt Meru. Tucked between the trees are 18 cottages, built in
traditional African styles and materials, the rooms are furnished
in an intimate and comfortable manner, maximizing the site's
unique views and natural features. Kigongoni Lodge has been
developed in harmony with, and respect for, local community
values, heritage and aspirations. Kigongoni is a part of a wonderful project for special needs children called the Sibuoso
Foundation. The Foundation is a center for improving the quality
of life for mentally disabled children and their families. More
than 850 northern Tanzania children have been enlisted in the
program. The center is located adjacent to the lodge and directly benefits from its revenues. Actually Sibusiso Foundation
is the most important reason for Kigongoni Lodge's existence.

June 17 & 18: Wednesday & Thursday
Arusha /E Unoto Lodge
After breakfast drive to E Unoto Lodge located in a secluded
spot outside Lake Manyara National Park against the Great
Rift Valley Escarpment.
The lodge resembles a
Maasai village, and a stay
here provides the
opportunity to learn more
of the Maasai and their
lifestyle, purchase their
famous beaded jewelry,
ask questions and take
photographs. There are 25
spacious bungalows all
decorated on a Maasai
theme. Each bungalow is
a private suite with en
suite bathroom facilities
and its own balcony
offering panoramic views
of Lake Miwaleni and the
towering escarpment. The open-air restaurant and bar
overlook the lake and swimming pool. Local and international cuisine are offered in the restaurant, and butlers provide drinks and snacks to guests as they rest by the pool. In
the evenings, the E Unoto Performers perform a Maasai
entertainment. The other neat thing is the lodge practices
responsible tourism - over
80% of the employees are
Maasai, and the lodge
donates 10% of its profits to
the local Maasai
community. These funds
have contributed towards
the construction of a local
school and provision of
fresh water. Future projects include a medical dispensary
and other community development projects.
Activities include, mountain cycling to the Maasai Bomas bicycles are available for adults and children staying here,
bird watching - with more than 350 species of native birds,
visit to market - the market features a variety of goods
including homeopathic remedies, local clothing and cereals
and locally-brewed Mbege, visit to Mto Wa Mbu - over 120
different tribes are living in the nearest township.
Nature walks escorted and guided by Maasai guides,
swimming –in the open air pool, game viewing in Lake

June 19: Friday
E Unoto /Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Arrive in time for lunch and an late afternoon wildlife game
viewing on the floor of the crater. Your accommodation is
at The Ngorongoro Serena Lodge is designed discretely in
the landscape, built into the rim of a dormant volcano. The
plant and ivy covered native stone blends masterfully with its
surroundings so that the lodge is not visible from the crater
floor during game drives. The unique design of the lodge
continues in the restaurant and bar with magnificent examples of prehistoric cave paintings found in the nearby Olduvai Gorge. The full service lounge has an outdoor balcony
and a fixed telescope for guests use. Dancers, slide lectures,
local
musicians, and celebrations often take place at the
lodge in the evenings. Nature walks with local Maasai guides
offer cultural insights into the natural habitat of the
Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro Serena Lodge is
a striking interpretation of how prehistoric man lived, hiding
in caves that allowed him to see his prey, but remain unseen.
The entire area is part of a vast conservation territory, home
to the Maasai tribe and their cattle, as well as an extraordinary variety of big game and wildlife including lions, hippos,

On the second day
enjoy breathtaking
views of the crater as
the sun rises. After
breakfast, descend
2000 feet below the
rim of the crater for of
spectacular game
viewing. The crater is
home to abundant
game, including the
“big five”, the black
rhino, jackal and Cape
buffalo. Return to the
lodge in the afternoon
for lunch the rest of
the afternoon is at your leisure. You may opt for a guided
nature walk around the lodge or hikes from the hotel away
from the crater.

June 20: Saturday
Ngorongoro Conservation Area/Serengeti National Park
This morning drive to Olduvai Gorge for a short visit to the site
of the remains of prehistoric man discovered by Dr. Leakey.
Continue your journey to the world’s best-known park, the
Serengeti. Named after the Masai word, ‘Siringet’ for endless
plains of short and long grass, the Serengeti is well known for
its large prides of lion, cheetah, packs of wild dog and for
nearly a million or so wildebeest. Overnight at Serengeti
Serena Lodge
Meals: breakfast, lunch dinner
(Or you opt for an early morning balloon safari over the
Serengeti Plains, which includes a bubbly champagne
breakfast upon landing.). Arrive on time for lunch. Spend the
remainder of the day relaxing in your picturesque
surroundings. Overnight at Mbalageti Tented Camp . OR
Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp
The Mbalageti Serengeti is at the Mwamyeni hill. It consists
of 26 tented chalets and tented suites spread out to ensure
privacy and exclusivity. Each chalet has en-suite bathroom
facilities and a private veranda from which you can enjoy the
panoramic views of the Serengeti plains and the Mbalageti
River - after which the camp is named.
The lodge restaurant offers cuisine with both local and
international influences and serves themed lived cooked
dinners, al la carte lunches and breakfast buffet. In the bar
area and on the lounge loft the guests can relax with games,
magazines and books. For the creative traveler an aisle with
water paint is provided. The swimming pool with its 360
degree view of the Serengeti is a real oasis in the wild! A
massage and dip in the pool will relax you after a long and
dusty day of game drives. The camp also offers bush breakfast, nature walks in the surrounding landscape, sun downers
and dinner in the bush.
Mbuzi Mawe Tented Camp—the camp is set amid rocky
outcrops or “kopjes” as they are called locally, which are
geological features of the Serengeti. Mbuzi Mawe tented
camp is in the heart of the Serengeti National. Each of the 16
tents have en suite bathroom facilities and private verandas.
The tents are decorated in true African Luxury style with
mosquito nets and four poster beds and his and hers
bathrooms.

Serengeti -Western Corridor
You will go for an early morning game drive, and then return
to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast drive north west to
Serengeti Western corridor, following the path of wildebeest
migration.
June 23: Tuesday
Serengeti National Park/Arusha/Return to USA
After breakfast and transfer to the airstrip for your flight to
Arusha. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure, early dinner
and transfer to the airport for your flight to home.
