My Beautiful Decay
For me, art is a way to grapple with those things I find most difficult. My paintings are a chronicle of my struggle with
addiction, but they are more than that. At the risk of sounding cliche, my art is a reflection of my own very difficult spiritual
journey, with all its trials and tribulations--and hopefully some of its triumphs as well. I am fascinated by mortality, by the
interplay between youth and decay. No doubt some of my work has been the result of me trying to come to grips with
my own mortality. I find our inevitable decay both beautiful and terrifying.
