These delightful artistic holiday projects are easily created by combining 2 fun techniques: bargello
quilt-as-you-go and fusible appliqué.
In this exciting workshop, students choose the pattern for the project that they wish to make. The basics
of all the patterns are the same but each has some variations. The variations among the patterns will be
demonstrated and discussed so that the students learn additional techniques besides those involved in the
project they are creating.
These projects may appear difficult and complex but the procedures taught make the workshop fun and
rewarding. Students sew strip sets, cut segments and are amazed to see the background take shape as
they begin shifting the segments. Students are enchanted at the ease with which this quilt-as-you-go
technique keeps all those seams stabilized and enables them to create the design quickly and successfully.
Add the fusible appliqué and embellishments … presto, the artistic project is complete.
