Bargellographix Quilt Using FOLKLORICA Important Note This insert has the Materials list and Cutting instructions for making the “Bargellographix” quilt using fabric from the Folklorica collection. You will need a copy of Floragraphix I Quilt Designs, by Jason Yenter, for the complete instructions. (See “Bargellographix” pages 31-35.) Materials Yardage requirements are based on 40" fabric width. 2 yds. Black Cat Border Stripe (2FL1) for wide horizontal strips ½ yd. Yellow Sunflowers (7FL1) for Bargello A strips ¾ yd. Green Tonal Leaves (8FL3) for Bargello B strips ¾ yd. Orange Leaves and Flowers (6FL1) for Bargello C strips ¾ yd. Orange Tonal Leaves (8FL1) for Bargello D strips 1⅓ yds. Orange Tonal Dots (9FL4) for Bargello E strips and binding ¾ yd. Black/Orange Medium Floral (4FL1) for Bargello F strips ½ yd. Blue Leaves and Flowers (6FL3) for Bargello G strips 4⅝ yds. for backing Finished Quilt Size: 64½" x 68½" Finished Horizontal Strip: 64½" x 10" Cutting Cut strips across width of fabric, unless otherwise instructed. From Black Cat Border Stripe, selectively cut: ■ 4 strips, 10" x length of fabric From Yellow Sunflowers, cut: ■ 7 strips, 1½" x 40"; these will be A strips in the Bargello panels (Cut one of the strips into two 1½" x 20" strips.) From Green Tonal Leaves, cut: ■ 13 strips, 1½" x 40"; these will be B strips in the Bargello panels (Cut one of the strips into two 1½" x 20" strips.) From Orange Leaves and Flowers, cut: ■ 13 strips, 1½" x 40"; these will be C strips in the Bargello panels (Cut one of the strips into two 1½" x 20" strips.) From Orange Tonal Leaves, cut: ■ 13 strips, 1½" x 40"; these will be D strips in the Bargello panels (Cut one of the strips into two 1½" x 20" strips.) From Orange Tonal Dots, cut: ■ 13 strips, 1½" x 40"; these will be E strips in the Bargello panels (Cut one of the strips into two 1½" x 20" strips.) ■ 8 strips, 2½" x 40", for double-fold binding Note: The bargello panels in this quilt design are slightly different than the panels in the “Bargellographix” quilt shown in the Floragraphix I Quilt Designs book. After making the bargello slices as directed in the book, you can either make the bargello panels as shown on page 34, or you can play around with the fabric slices and come up with your own bargello pattern, or you can follow Jason’s design as shown here. From Black/Orange Medium Floral, cut: ■ 13 strips, 1½" x 40"; these will be F strips in the Bargello panels (Cut one of the strips into two 1½" x 20" strips.) From Blue Leaves and Flowers, cut: ■ 7 strips, 1½" x 40"; these will be G strips in the Bargello panels (Cut one of the strips into two 1½" x 20" strips.)
