EWE drill-hole sleeve
This plastic sleeve keeps the drill hole free of incrustation and has proved enormously
successful in the field.
EWE drill-hole sealing sleeve
This sleeve provides a direct seal in the drill-hole against the pipe wall – especially with
CMC (cement-mortar-coated) pipes, but also with all other pipes. It eliminates the timeconsuming job of removing the outer coating and subsequent re-insulation, thus avoiding any damage to the corrosion protection.
EWE PE sleeve
With this sleeve, threaded EWE tapping fittings can be used on both PVC and PE pipes.
Its conical thread enables it to cut its way into the drill hole in the PE pipe, thus providing a perfect seal and preventing the tendency for the PE pipe to “flow” away from the
seal.
All the sleeves extend the axis of the tapping fitting into the drill hole,
thereby preventing the fitting from rotating or shifting on the main pipe.
After tapping under pressure is completed, the sleeves are inserted into the EWE
tapping fitting in a second, very simple step, using a sleeve fitting device.

EWE valve tapping fitting
for cast iron and steel pipes, for water PN 16
Form C as per DIN 3543, part 2. To comply with German Drinking Water Ordinance
for brass as per DIN 50930-6 installation parameter B ≤ 0.14. Suitable for steel
and cast iron pipes up to PN 16, for water up to PN 16, for top tapping under pressure, side outlet with internal thread as per DIN EN 10226-1, additionally with
O-ring chamber for EWE O-ring system.
Tapping corner valve, DVGW (German Association of Gas and Water Engineers), made
of DR grade hot-pressed brass, moveably sealed in connection piece with two O-rings,
can be turned 45° on both sides. Non-rising V2A stem with multiple round thread and
double O-ring stem seal. Non-turning valve cone, conically sealing, with additional
PTFE resilient seal. Hard-chrome plated tapered stem with hexagonal guide.
Upper section with left-hand thread and bayonet locking.
Connection piece made from nodular cast iron 40, EPS-coated, complying with the
regulations of DIN 30677, part 2.
Seal with O-ring, sealing chamber perfectly adapted to pipe crown. Clamp, 90 mm
wide, with sheet steel corner plate, with rolled M 16 threaded bolt, with
hemispherical washers and nuts, made entirely of V4A stainless steel.
Plastic protective thread caps, all-round rubber binding.
Antifriction coated nuts.

EWE drill-hole sleeve and PE sleeve fitting device
for fitting EWE drill-hole sleeves and EWE PE sleeves in EWE tapping fittings under
working pressure, without shutting down the supply line.
Connection to device G 1 1/2” LH for direct placement on the EWE tapping fitting; two
special mounts at the bottom on the stainless steel stem – for drill-hole sleeve or
PE sleeve – retain and precisely position the particular sleeve.

Transition from the EWE sleeve fitting devices to the EWE piston valve tapping fitting
and ball valve tapping fitting; brass, internal thread G 1 1/2” LH, external thread
G 1 1/2”.
User information
for EWE tapping fittings with EWE drill-hole sleeve and EWE PE sleeve
1. Mount the rescrewable tapping fitting on the pipe as instructed.
2. Prepare the sleeve fitting device:
Attach the special-mount adapter for drill-hole sleeve or PE sleeve.
Slide the advance unit back to the mark.
Attach the sleeve to the driver groove of the special adapter until it clicks audibly
into place.
Retract the stainless steel stem into the device as far as it will go (entire sleeve is
now inside the housing of the device) and lock by tightening the star knob.
3. Perform the tapping process – hole: 31 mm – in the usual manner.
4. Fit the sleeve:
Screw on the sleeve fitting device (left-hand thread).
Open the auxiliary shut-off on the tapping fitting and undo the stainless steel
stem lock at the star knob.
Keep the flushing device closed while fitting the sleeve.
Slide the stainless steel stem down as far as it will go and thread it, in that
position, into the fine-pitch thread of the fitting by giving it one or two turns.
Lock the stainless steel stem in this position by tightening the star knob.
Screw in the sleeve clockwise as far as it will go using the EWE tapping fitting
wrench No. 6120301, which is attached to the device square.
Note:
The sleeve is now positioned in the hole; in the case of PE, by means of the selftapping thread, and has made the connection between tapping fitting and pipe.
5. Undo the stainless steel stem, retract it as far as it will go, and lock at the star knob.
N.B.: Hold the stainless steel stem when undoing it, as it is pressurised!
Close the auxiliary shut-off, unscrew the sleeve fitting device (left-hand thread)
and mount the valve upper section.

Tapping fitting for cast iron or steel pipes with cement mortar sheath/cement mortar lining, also for plastic-coated and fibre-reinforced cement pipes and also glass-fibre reinforced plastic pipes, with a sealing sleeve, which provides perfect sealing in the drill hole
against the pipe.
The tapping fitting comprises a connection piece, alternatively with or without integrated
auxiliary shut-off, a seal and a clamp. In the requisite dimensions it is suitable for all
pipe materials; there is no need for different seals and clamps (belts).
Technical features:
Designed for water PN 16.
All materials are KTW and DIN 50930-6 compliant.
One fitting in the requisite dimensions is suitable for all types of pipe.
Direct sealing in the drill hole against the main pipe.
Protects against incrustation in the drill hole.
Direct placement on the cement mortar sheath or plastic coating,
no need to remove the pipe’s outer coating,
no subsequent re-insulation, no damage to the corrosion protection.
Thus makes considerable savings on assembly times.
Because it is centred in the drill hole, the tapping fitting
does not slip on the pipe axis after tapping.

EWE drill-hole sealing sleeve fitting device
for fitting EWE drill-hole sealing sleeves in EWE drill-hole sealing sleeve tapping fittings
under operating pressure, without shutting down the supply line, for water up to 16 bar.
Connection to device G 1 1/2” LH for direct placement on the EWE drill-hole sealing sleeve
tapping fitting, special mount at the bottom on the stainless steel stem for the EWE
drill-hole sealing sleeve and to precisely position and adjust the sleeve in the drill hole.

User information
for EWE tapping fitting with EWE drill-hole sealing sleeve and
EWE drill-hole sealing sleeve fitting device 0-16 bar
1. Mount the tapping fitting on the main pipe without removing the outer
coatings. Tighten the belt uniformly, determine the valve outlet point.
2. Prepare the drill-hole sealing sleeve fitting device:
Attach the preassembled drill-hole sealing sleeve to the stainless steel stem.
Retract the bell housing against the spring pressure to unlock the stainless steel
stem. Use the pipe wrench on the stainless steel stem square to turn it clockwise
until both stems clink into the drill-hole sealing sleeve.
Release the bell housing and turn anticlockwise until it automatically locks. Retract the
stainless steel stem into the housing as far as it will go (entire drill-hole sealing sleeve
is now in the housing).
4. Fit the drill-hole sealing sleeve:
Screw on the drill-hole sealing sleeve fitting device.
Keep the flushing device closed with fitting.
Open the auxiliary shut-off and switch the travel position to the valve direction on the
control block.
The stainless steel stem moves with pressure-assist into the valve as far as the
respective mark.
Marks: AV – tapping valve, KAV – ball tapping valve, KH – ball valve.
Screw down clockwise as far as the stop using the pin of the pipe wrench on the bell
housing.
Note:
In this position, the drill-hole sealing sleeve has reached the metallic area of the
pipe crown.
Unlock the bell housing, tighten the stainless steel stem at the square using the pipe
wrench in a clockwise direction as far as it will go.
The sealing element is now clamped in the drill hole; the tapping is now fully sealed.
5. Switch the control block to reverse; after automatic reversing close the auxiliary shut-off.
Take off the drill-hole sealing sleeve fitting device and mount the valve upper section.

EWE PE sleeve fitting device

EWE drill-hole sleeve and PE sleeve fitting device
for fitting EWE drill-hole sleeves and EWE PE sleeves in EWE tapping
fittings under working pressure, without shutting down the supply line.
Connection to device G 1 1/2” LH for direct placement on the EWE tapping fitting; two
special mounts at the bottom on the stainless steel stem – for drill-hole sleeve or
PE sleeve – retain and precisely position the particular sleeve.
EWE transition piece
Transition from the EWE sleeve fitting devices to the EWE piston valve tapping fitting
and ball valve tapping fitting; brass, internal thread G 1 1/2” LH, external thread
G 1 1/2”.
User information
for EWE tapping fittings with EWE drill-hole sleeve and EWE PE sleeve
1. Mount the rescrewable tapping fitting on the pipe as instructed.
2. Prepare the sleeve fitting device:
Attach the special-mount adapter for drill-hole sleeve or PE sleeve.
Slide the advance unit back to the mark.
Attach the sleeve to the driver groove of the special adapter until it clicks audibly
into place.
Retract the stainless steel stem into the device as far as it will go (entire sleeve is
now inside the housing of the device) and lock by tightening the star knob.
4. Fit the sleeve:
Screw on the sleeve fitting device (left-hand thread).
Open the auxiliary shut-off on the tapping fitting and undo the stainless steel stem
lock at the star knob.
Keep the flushing device closed while fitting the sleeve.
Slide the stainless steel stem down as far as it will go and thread it, in that
position, into the fine-pitch thread of the fitting by giving it one or two turns.
Lock the stainless steel stem in this position by tightening the star knob.
Screw in the sleeve clockwise as far as it will go using the EWE tapping fitting wrench
No. 6120301, which is attached to the square of the device.
Note:
The sleeve is now positioned in the hole; in the case of PE, by means of the selftapping thread, and has made the connection between tapping fitting and pipe.

5. Undo the stainless steel stem, retract it as far as it will go, and lock at the star knob.
N.B.: Hold the stainless steel stem when undoing it, as it is pressurised!
Close the auxiliary shut-off, unscrew the sleeve fitting device (left-hand thread)
and mount the valve upper section.
