BIKING
The Island has more than 100 miles of paths to explore, inside and outside the
plantations. Also, miles of sand-packed beaches allow delightful bike rides along the
Atlantic Ocean. You’ll discover it’s an enjoyable diversion, and bike rentals are
readily available and can be delivered to your home or villa during your stay.
PADDLEBOARDING (STAND UP PADDLING)
This surface water sport is gaining popularity on the Island and provides an
experience to stand, glide and explore the ocean or creeks on a large surfboard. The
experience will show you new views from the water while strengthening your core,
upper body and enhancing balance.
GOLFING
With more than one million rounds of golf played each year on the Lowcountry’s
36-plus courses, Hilton Head Island has become one of the most renowned golf
destinations in the world. Detailed information to help you choose from a variety of

TENNIS
Whether you prefer to play on hard, grass, or clay, you will find it on Hilton
Head. In fact, there are more courts on Hilton Head than at any resort of its size
in America. High quality instruction (group clinics and private lessons) is
available at all tennis centers.
FISHING AND MORE
Fishing is a popular pastime on Hilton Head, and there are many ways to enjoy the
sport. You can surf cast from the shore, dig for clams, gather oysters, toss a shrimp
net, drop a crab line, or charter a boat for fly-fishing. For the adventuresome,
hunting the big game on the Gulf Stream is within your reach.
PLEASURE BOATING
Sailing, kayaking and jet skiing, are popular among Hilton Head’s many marinas
and harbors. Dolphin-watching tours, rental boats, guided crabbing and shrimping
tours are all available. Plan to visit Shelter Cove Marina, South Beach Marina, and
Harbour Town Basin to enjoy some of the finest marinas the South has to offer.
PARASAILING AND WIND-SURFING
For the more extreme water sports enthusiast, parasailing and wind-surfing lessons

SHOPPING
A favorite of the locals and visitors alike are the Tanger Outlets. The outlets
include such popular stores as Coach, Bass, Brooks Brothers, Carter’s, Eddie
Bauer, Gap, Harry & David, J. Crew, Nike, Tommy Jeans, Waterford - the list goes
on and on. There are over 300 shops of every imaginable variety available to
choose from on the Island including numerous waterfront boutiques and
peaceful plazas.
DINING OUT
Hilton Head has over 200 restaurants to please the palate, offering cuisines
including Italian, Thai, Caribbean, Japanese, Greek, Chinese, and Mexican. AllAmerican fare on Hilton Head features pit-cooked BBQ, prime steaks and home
style southern specialties. Treat yourself to the famous local seafood dishes such
as succulent shrimp, sweet blue crab and oysters. There is a restaurant on Hilton
Head to fit any budget and make an occasion special.

THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
EXPRESS CHECK-IN
We offer an (optional) express check-in service for $59.95 in which
your check-in package containing keys to your property, our Guest
Services Directory, car passes (if applicable), map and directions to
Hilton Head Island is mailed to you 3 weeks prior to your arrival via
USPS Priority mail. This service is offered to help expedite your check
in and plan your vacation activities before arrival. Standard 4 PM
check-in applies.
PAYMENTS & RATES
In order to keep your rate as low as possible, our preferred method of
payment is by check. All rates reflect cash or check payment and do not
include taxes and fees. Daily, monthly and long term (winter) rates are
available upon request. Daily rates are based on a 3 night minimum and
rates are subject to change. Certain minimums may apply.
ADJACENT/CLOSE PROXIMITY ACCOMMODATIONS
Many villas and homes are near each other to accommodate large
groups or multiple families.
RENTAL PROPERTIES
All Island Getaway properties are featured on our website, here you
will find many photos of each individual property and a detailed
description including TV/DVD information. You are also able to book
your vacation online 24 hours a day at www.islandgetaway.com.
MAINTENANCE & POOLS
In the unlikely event the home or villa you have reserved experiences
a maintenance or pool problem, it will be handled in a timely and
professional manner. We do not guarantee that rental rates will be
adjusted due to unforeseen problems.
OUR PROPERTIES ARE NON-SMOKING
DEPOSIT
In order to guarantee your selected dates, a 50% deposit is required
upon reserving your property. An email confirmation will be sent to
you. Checks should be mailed to: Island Getaway

BALANCES
Your balance is due four weeks prior to arrival in order to expedite the
check-in process. Balances can be paid by check (or travelers check)
prior to arrival.
CANCELLATION
If you find it necessary to cancel this reservation more than 60 days
for villas, 90 days for homes and 120 days for oceanfront homes
prior to your arrival you will forfeit 10% of the base rate before
taxes. Cancellation less than 60 days for villas, 90 days for homes
and 120 days for oceanfront homes prior to arrival will result in loss
of your deposit. Cancellation within 30 days of arrival results in loss
of total payment.
ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE
Check-in time is between 4 - 6 PM, Check-out time is 10 AM.
CRIBS AND BIKES
Bikes, cribs, high chairs and other items are available for rent and
are delivered to your rental property. (weekly rates). The local
companies providing this service are listed on our website
www.islandgetaway.com (Hilton Head Links) or provided in your
check in package.
INTERNET ACCESS AND FAX SERVICE
Most properties offer Internet access (if applicable, access codes are
printed on your check in package). Fax service can be provided at
Island Getaway.

All homes and villas have private telephones, TVs and DVD Players.

The occupancy of each home or villa is limited to the number of
persons indicated on your rental confirmation and is enforced.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
IS THERE A HOUSEKEEPING FEE FOR MY RESERVATION?
Housekeeping fees are included in your reservation and maid service
will provide bedding, bath towels and a few starter items. Housekeeping does not supply beach towels. You may schedule additional days
of housekeeping services and those additional service fees can be added
to your reservation.
WHY SHOULD I RESERVE A PROPERTY SOONER, RATHER THAN
LATER?
Our inventory selection is larger the earlier you reserve a property. This
allows you to choose from the best selection to fit your accommodation
needs and budget.
WHAT IS KEYPAD ENTRY?
Many of our properties are equipped with locks that issue unique passcodes which will be specific to your reservation. You will receive this code
in your check-in package (mailed prior to arrival) if applicable.
IS THERE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO HEAT THE POOL AND/OR
HOT TUB?
Seasonal flat rate pool heating fees apply for heatable pools and hot tubs.
During the summer months, pools cannot be heated. Contact Island Getaway for rates and information.
ARE THE VILLA POOLS HEATED DURING THE WINTER?
Some are heated and the exact time of year varies from complex to
complex. Ask your reservationist for more details.
DO YOU RENT BICYCLES, CRIBS, BEACH CHAIRS, ETC?
Island Getaway does not rent these items, however we will be happy
to direct you to a local proprietor who will deliver them to your rental

CAN WE USE THE FIREPLACE, GARAGE AND ELEVATORS?
In most of our rental properties, these facilities are not available, however we will make arrangements for handicap elevator access (if applicable) and follow up on other requests or needs.
WHAT IS A KING-SWING BED?
A king-swing bed is actually two twin mattresses that are in a frame
that can be together as a king size bed, or be separated into two twins.

WHAT ARE OPTIONS FOR TENNIS ACCESS?
On site courts (are free) and are available at Inverness Village, Waterford,
Lake Forest, Evian Villas and Golfmaster. Other guests have paid access
to Palmetto Dunes, Sea Pines, Shipyard and Port Royal Tennis Centers
to reserve court times.
CAN YOU SUGGEST ANY GOLF COURSES?
Island Getaway can help you obtain access to some of the most exclusive
clubs and golf courses on the east coast including Long Cove, Colleton
River, Harbor Town and Palmetto Bluff. Our website and the Island Getaway Guest Services Directory offer more detailed information about
local golf courses in the area and where to look for tee times.
CAN YOU SUGGEST DINING OPTIONS?
Please refer to your check in package or ask your Island Getaway representative for a few “favorite” restaurants. We can also recommend
a qualified private chef to come to your property and cater to your
group. If you decide to eat in, check out our website www.islandgetaway.com for grocery delivery services.
WHAT DO WE DO IF WE ARRIVE AFTER THE OFFICE CLOSES?
We have a late box outside our office door for after hours check-ins. A
code will be given to you for access to the late check in box.
WHY SHOULD I RENT A VILLA (OR HOME) VERSUS HOTEL
ROOM(S)?
Vacationing in a home and having access to your own living room, dining room and kitchen provide substantial cost savings for snacking and
mealtimes. Added convenience and much added privacy are other benefits to home and villa rentals.
DO YOU OFFER MONTHLY WINTER RENTALS?
Island Getaway represents a number of homes and villas that can be
rented by the month(s) during the winter. Monthly rates start at $1200
per month, with 1 to 8 bedrooms available. Ask your reservationist for
more details.
GOLF INFORMATION
GREAT YEAR-ROUND CLIMATE
Hilton Head Island enjoys a mild climate well
suited for outdoor activities no matter what time of
year you plan to visit the Island. During the
summer months, most of our rental properties
enjoy the benefit of continuous sea breezes
providing a natural cooling effect. Hilton Head
Island’s southern locale offers much warmer
winter temperatures than most other areas in the
United States, providing outdoor action even in the
coldest months.

Please note that there are several different routes from I-95 to
Hilton Head Island. However, the most direct routes are as follows:
From the North driving south on I-95, take the Hilton Head EXIT
