The Dachshund Club of America, Inc. in support of the April 26 & 27, 2016, Field Trial of the Metropolitan
Washington Dachshund Club held in conjunction with the National Specialty Trial offers, OPEN TO ALL
DACHSHUNDS for outright award, its statuary bronze Dachshund plaques by Katherine Ward Lane and
Chris Baldwin (each plaque winner to retain only one, the largest plaque won in competition at these field
trials) and its brass sunburst medallion as follows:

INFORMATION FOR ALL EVENTS

Grounds Information: The site will be available for you to set up at 2:00 pm, Monday,
April 25, 2016. Please keep your set-ups clean, clean up after your dogs and do not
leave trash on the field trial grounds. Please note that parking and set-up space for xpens is limited so please remember to leave space for other participants. At all times
gates must be closed and latched upon entering and leaving the fields.
No smoking is permitted on the grounds or in the clubhouse
Practice: No practicing will be allowed on the club grounds.
Clubhouse: There is a clubhouse on the grounds with restroom and shower facilities.
Please bring your own towel for shower use. In addition, to the clubhouse restrooms,
we will have Porta-potties available for participants' convenience. Roll call and meals
will be held in the clubhouse. Please help us to keep the clubhouse clean. No
dogs in the Clubhouse except for Award photos.
Dress: It is recommended that sturdy shoes or boots and durable clothing be worn.
Bring appropriate gear, as the trial will be run rain or shine.
Running order: The size of the entry and field /weather conditions will dictate whether
classes are run consecutively or concurrently. The potential class running order for both
events are specified above. The committee may make changes to the running order as
needed to expedite the event. The DCA Field Trial will begin immediately after the
conclusion of the MWDC Field Trial. *** In order to insure completion and to expedite
both events, it is critical that all participants contribute in the field as beaters as
needed. ***

PEC ANNUAL MEETING: The DCA Performance Events Committee Annual Meeting will be
held at the Clubhouse on Thursday, April 28, 2016 after the dinner.
DCA Field Events Awards Dinner: The dinner will be held at the Wyoming Valley Beagle
Club on Thursday, April 28, 2016. The dinner must be prepaid by April 18, 2016 using the
attached Meal Reservation Form.
RV & Camping: There will be reserved overnight camping available in designated spaces on
the beagle grounds for motor homes, trailers, tents, and other vehicles for a fee as well as 5
unisex beds in the clubhouse. However, RV reservations are limited. Electric is also limited.
Working club members and judges will be given priority for both RV parking and electric. All
others will be on a first come first served basis determined by the date the reservation form is
received. Some areas having electric outlets may be unavailable for parking heavier rigs as
the ground will be extremely soft if rains ahead of the event.
The rate is $10 a day for those staying overnight on the grounds. For RV’s not having electric
hookups, generator exhaust must be directed away from other RV’s/ campers. Camping
includes people staying in tents as well as staying in their vehicle. All RV’s and campers
must be off the grounds by 9:00pm April 29th unless otherwise arranged. (See attached
reservation form) There is no dumping of RV holding tanks on the ground. All RV,
camping, and clubhouse beds must be reserved by April 18, 2016 using the attached
RV/Camping/Bed Reservation Form. Please note that this form is sent to Dave Simmons
as noted on the form. Assigned spaces will be issued. You must see Dave Simmons
before you park.

MWDC Raffle: Raffle tickets may be purchased Tuesday - Wednesday. The drawing
will be Wednesday evening. You do not need to be present to win. However, if you are
not present please arrange for someone to pick up your winnings. We cannot hold or
ship items to you. We would appreciate a donated item for the raffle. Please see
Meredith Averitt for donating items.

not let dogs bark excessively in rooms. We reserve the right to have event committee

DIRECTIONS TO WYOMING VALLEY BEAGLE CLUB
FROM I-81: Take Exit 164 onto PA Rt 29 North towards Nanticoke. Go 5.3
miles and take left exit onto US11 and merge onto PA Rt 29 North. Slight left
on PA Rt 29 North/US11 South/East Poplar St. Continue for 1.1 miles. Turn
right in town (West Nanticoke) at the bottom of the hill, PA Rt 29
North/South Mill St. Go up the twisting road (hairpin like turns) for 6.0 miles
and make a left onto Moon Lake Rd at the Moon Lake State Park sign. It’s
the size of a small billboard. Go 0.3 miles. Road continues to the left, but you
bear right staying on Hartman Rd. Hartman Rd makes a sharp left
immediately after the equipment yard on your right. Go straight through the
gate (Wyoming Beagle Club sign to the left of the gate) and continue up the
road until it dead ends at the Wyoming Beagle Club.
DIRECTIONS FROM FIELD TRIAL TO EARTH DOG TEST SITE
Take Hartman Rd to Rte 29 and turn right. At Rte 11, turn left and after 1.1
miles take Rte 29 towards the right to Rte 11 for 5.3 miles to I-81. Take I-81
South to I-80 West. I-80 West to exit 161 US220 towards I-99/Belafonte.
Take I-99 south to the PA Turnpike West (Exit #110 is Somerset, PA and Exit
#91 is Donegal. See ED premium for detailed direction on ED site)

the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to
hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary
and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any
employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from
any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of
this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all

hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary
and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any
employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from

Meal Order Summary
All meals must be reserved and prepaid with payment received no
later than April 18, 2016.
Breakfast will be a choice of eggs over, scrambled eggs or Omelets with sides
of bacon, sausage, home-fries, toast, orange juice, V-8, coffee and tea.
Pancakes and French Toast will be available upon request. Lunch and
Dinner will be served buffet style. Beverages will be provided with each
meal. Coffee will be available all day free to those who have bought meals,
and for a fee to others. Menu’s are subject to change. The menu will be
posted for each day. Please indicate the number of meals you would like and
FULLY complete the right hand side of the form.

There will be reserved overnight camping available in designated
spaces on the beagle grounds for motor homes, trailers, tents, and
other vehicles for a fee as well as 5 unisex beds in the clubhouse.
However, RV reservations are limited. Electric is also limited. Working
club members and judges will be given priority for both RV parking and
electric. All others will be on a first come first served basis determined
by the date the reservation form is received.

Motor homes and trailers must be parked in designated spaces only.
Priority will be given to motor homes and trailers staying 4 nights. For
RV’s not having electric hookups, generator exhaust must be directed
away from other RV’s/ campers. Most of the RV parking area is not
level; please plan accordingly.
This form must be used to reserve and pay for overnight camping
on the grounds and all spaces will be designated. There is no
dumping of waste tanks (gray or black) on the grounds. The site
will be available for you to set up at 2:00pm on Monday, April 25, 2016.
All campers must be off the grounds by 9:00 pm on Friday, April 29th
unless prior arrangements are made. All campers must check-in
with the Camper Parking Chairman (Dave Simmons) or
designated Official before you are allowed to park any vehicle or
set-up your site. You will then be directed to your reserved/
designated site.
