WellView and Rushmore Reviews
What is the Rushmore Reviews?
The Rushmore Reviews is a UK-based organization which manages a databank of well data for benchmarking of drilling,
completions, interventions and well abandonment performance worldwide. Oil and gas companies submit well data on a
quarterly basis, and participating operators access the data to compare their performance against their peers.
Operators can participate in various Reviews, including Drilling (DPR), Completion (CPR), Abandonment (APR), Shale
(SPR), and Intervention (IPR). For more information on the Rushmore Reviews, see www.rushmorereviews.com.
These Reviews have traditionally been completed manually by the responsible engineer using a predefined MS Excel
template supplied by Rushmore. This manual process can be time-consuming, and engineers may not consistently
interpret data over multiple wells.
How Can WellView Help?
As a significant percentage of the data required for the Reviews has a placeholder in the WellView data model, the normal
daily reporting workflow can be used to enter relevant data into WellView. A WellView 9.0 Multi Excel template (XLT) can
be configured to mirror the Rushmore Review template, allowing the user to automatically populate the template with the
relevant data directly from WellView.
Generic and Custom XLTs
Peloton provides generic DPR and SPR templates which automatically populate approximately 50% of the respective Review from the WellView data.
However, 75% of the Review and more can be achieved if the logic is customized to interpret operator-specific activity codes. Clients can either build their

Management of Change Workflow in SiteView
The Management of Change (MOC) process is an approval workflow to define and approve a scope for certain field operations. It is most commonly part
of Facility Operations, once a well site or facility is ready for production or is producing. The process can include any work of a certain type that needs to
occur in the field, such as the following:
Installation or maintenance of equipment
Material transfer of equipment
Certain required environmental, health, and safety activities in the field
Design implementations or changes
SiteView provides several ways to manage this workflow. The first way uses the svApproval model, with a svJob record describing the work to be
completed. The svJob record lists the scope of the work and allows you to record completed activities of the approved MOC item. In svApproval, you
link to the Job record and list the people who are required to sign off, or approve, the MOC (svApprovalName). You can list the MOC deliverables or
items of note (such as required drawings or safety meetings) in the svApprovalDeliv table. The reviewers can evaluate and modify the list of deliverables
until the items are ultimately approved.
One other way is to list the type
of MOC in the svApproval table and
follow a more detailed workflow as
the MOC winds its way through the
sequential approval process. You can
supplement the MOC with links to the
approved drawings and engineering
spec sheets, which can be included
as attachments that define the work
to be completed. In this case, a svJob
record may or may not be required to
complete the work; this method is
more focused on the approval workflow process, with the scope detail
listed in the attached supporting
documentation that the field user
uses to complete the approved MOC
item.
These workflows are typically notification-based. The notifications come
from a combination of batch reports and custom MasterView alerts.
Batch reports work well for sending out standard reports at a given time, for example, a weekly list of outstanding approvals. You can use custom alerts for
tasks such as automatically
incrementing the custom MOC number, adding more complex logic to direct emails based on status changes, and sending out reports or emails at specific
times and under specific conditions.

Technical Tips: Multiple SyncHosts
When a remote user synchronizes data to head office, they are put into a Sync queue. If many remote users are synchronizing at the same time, this
queue can be quite long and generate longer than expected wait times.
In AppFrame 4 products, Peloton
has introduced a new feature to
make this process more efficient.
You can set up multiple
SyncHosts to point to a single
synchronization folder. When
a remote user initiates the Sync
process, the process is placed
in the shortest queue. This
method results in shorter
queues—therefore, less time
to synchronize!
Note: To ensure performance,
you should limit one SyncHost
to one server.
3rd Party Plant Estimator Add-in for ProdView
Have you ever wanted a tool to help you estimate liquid volumes and gas sales when you deliver your gas
to a 3rd party plant?
With ProdView, you can configure your flow network to obtain an estimate of gas and liquid volumes extracted at a 3rd party plant from the producer’s
gas delivery.
Using the gas volume and composition delivered to the 3rd party plant, the estimator process calculates product volumes extracted at the plant to
individual components which can then be recombined back to defined product types.
With the ProdView 3rd Party Plant Estimator Add-in, you can do the following:
Estimate the volumes of gas
and liquid products sent to the
3rd party plant
Allocate 3rd party plant volumes
to the individual wells
Eliminate the need for product
shrinkage and yield factors for
all wells
Compensate for a plant’s gas
shrinkage and liquid recovery
efficiencies per product

Google Earth Add-in
Peloton applications include an add-in that exports geo-spatial data and allows you to visualize this data in Google Earth. You can use Google Earth’s
satellite imagery to display WellView, SiteView, and RigView locations.
To launch the map, select one or more wells, sites, or rigs, and choose Google Maps from the Add-ins menu in the Explorer window. The Peloton application
passes latitude and longitude data to a KML file that is read by Google Earth.
By default, Peloton uses the free Google Earth. You could configure the add-in to run with other mapping systems that use KML files, such as ESRI ArcGIS.
For RigView, Google Earth shows the well spots, which use the job block fill colors from your current RigView template. A line links the rigs to indicate the
next rig moves. If more than one rig is selected in RigView, the connecting lines appear in a different color. Click a well spot to see more details about the
rig and job. Settings in the RigView INI file determine the data that is sent to Google Earth.

The WellView add-in passes out surface location details. The SiteView add-in passes out lease location details.
The Google Earth add-in is currently available in WellView. In spring 2013, it will be available in the RigView and SiteView maintenance
releases.
