Historical Mexico – Tijuana Style with Wine Tour,
Tasting and Lunch
10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Cross the border into Baja for fun shopping in Tijuana, a shopper’s
and bargain hunter’s paradise. You’ll find stores, stalls, arcades
and underground passageways filled with bargains from all over
the world. Graze the gamut of Mexican bargains from the finest
Austrian crystal and French perfumes, to clothing, blankets,
jewelry and authentic hand carved Mexican handicrafts. Then
off to L.A. Cetto Winery for a tasting of excellent Mexican wines.
Lunch is served at a restaurant along Avenida Revolution.
Note: Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Passport is
required.

Led by a trained guide, the tour vividly recreates the late 1800’s
when the city near the waterfront fell into disrepair and the Stingaree
district flourished. Learn about the marketing secrets of the naughty
ladies of the Stingaree and discover the haunts of famous former
resident Wyatt Earp. The tour also highlights many of the best
Victorian style commercial buildings constructed in San Diego during
the years between the Civil War and World War I. Topping off the
Walk Through History is a stop at Ghirardelli Chocolate factory for
an old-fashioned ice cream sundae with your choice of toppings.

TRAVEL & AccomModations
Begin your tour in the historic Gaslamp Quarter, continue on through
to Balboa Park, and then enjoy a one-hour fully narrated tour on
San Diego Bay aboard a Harbor Excursions boat with scenic views
of Coronado, North Island, the Embarcadero and Cabrillo National
Park. Lastly, venture off to picturesque “Old Town,” the first European
settlement in California, where you will have some free time to browse
the unique shops, enjoy lunch on your own at a local restaurant or
travel back to early San Diego through the historic displays of Old Town.

Walk Through History – Gaslamp Quarter
Patriots Tour and USS Midway

While touring aboard an amphibious SEAL vehicle, learn about
San Diego’s proud military heritage. Cruise alongside North Island
Naval Air Station where aviation activity may include helicopters
in the air performing hovering exercises, and S-#3 Vikings making
touch and go landings on the main landing strip. North Island
Naval Air Station is officially known as the “Birthplace of Naval
Aviation. Keep an eye out for members of the elite fighting force,
Navy SEALS, training on the Bay and many types of aircraft flying
maneuver in and out of North Island Naval Air Station. The tour
continues with a self audio-guided tour of the USS Midway, the
famous aircraft carrier that set new standards of naval aviation.

Temecula Wine Tasting and Lunch

While most of the world thinks that the only California wines are produced
in the Northern California Sonoma and Napa regions, Southern California
has some great wineries of its own. Our first stop in Temecula Valley
will be at one of the fifteen local wineries that include a tasting and an
introduction to the centuries-old tradition of wine making. Enjoy lunch at
one of the restaurants in the beautiful wine country and conclude with a
tour and tasting at a second local winery.

Registration forms must be received at The Event Team office (a USA Host Affiliate) by Friday, March 28, 2008. A confirmation will be faxed or mailed to you
and should be considered your receipt. Please present this receipt at the Tour Booth in Lobby D of the San Diego Convention Center to receive your tour tickets.
Actual tour tickets must be presented to board tours. Tour booth hours are Sunday from 10:00 am–5:30 pm, Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 am–5:00 pm, and
Wednesday from 8:00 am–4:00 pm. The Event Team is not responsible for any tickets not picked up during the advertised ticket hours. Departure point and
ticket distribution for tours will be from Hall E of the Convention Center. Please be at your departure point 15 minutes prior to the departure time. We reserve
the right to cancel a tour due to lack of registrations. In that event, your money will be refunded in full AFTER the conference. Payment must be in U.S. dollars.

nThere is a $10 fee per person tour if you cancel or request an exchange. No refunds or exchange will be given after March 28, 2008.
