INRODUCTION
ACTIVE ONSTITUENTS + CHEMICAL REACTION
The active constituents in soda lime necessary for CO2 absorption are:
• Calcium hydroxide [Ca (OH)2]
• Sodium hydroxide [NaOH]
• Water [H2O]
The result of the basic reaction of calcium
hydroxide with carbon dioxide is the formation
of calcium carbonate and water.
Ca (OH)2 + CO2 ÅÆ CaCO3 + H2O
Ælarge active inner surface ensuring a high CO2 absorption capacity
Æuniform filling of the absorbent cartridges meaning a reproducible CO2 absorption

EFFICIENCY
EFFICIENCY OF THE CO2 - ABSORBTION
Soda Lime
Application
The efficiency of the CO2 - Absorption will be influenced
by the soda lime and the application.
