Day 11 – Tuesday, September 9: Djibouti  Nairobi, Kenya to Masai Mara
855 NM
Fly to Nairobi. We’ll take a local airline flight to Bateleur Camp. Set among the forests on the edge of the Masai Mara,
the elegant tents, each with its own private butler, reflect the style and glamour of vintage Africa.
Enjoy a short game drive en route to the Camp - located in one of the most spectacular parts of the Masai Mara - a
large game reserve in south western Kenya which is the continuation of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The
Camp is at the heart of the wildebeest migration that passes through this area between July and September when the
Mara River sees some of the most dramatic scenes of wildebeest and zebra crossing the river and facing the waiting
crocodiles.
Gazelle, wildebeest and zebra graze in large numbers and where prey is found so are predators. The famous
black-maned Mara lions, cheetah and leopard hunt these grazing herds of ungulates. Great herds of elephant
browse amongst the rich grasslands while hippo and crocodiles keep cool in the Mara and Talek Rivers. Each
year, in the deep south of the Serengeti the wildebeest start their great trek in search for the sweet grass of the
Masai Mara. This is known as the Great Migration. It is estimated that more than a half million wildebeest enter
the Masai Mara and are joined by another 10 000 from the Loita Hills in the east of the Mara. There is nowhere
else on earth to compare this wildlife marvel.

Day 15 – Saturday, September 13: Masai Mara to Nairobi  Lilongwe, Malawi  Livingstone, Zambia 765+520 NM
A local airline flight brings us back to Nairobi to get our planes. Fly to Victoria Falls with a technical stop in Lilongwe.
Upon arrival, transfer to the David Livingstone Safari Lodge. Victoria Falls - Mosi-o-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders)
– is considered to be among the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
A famous feature is the naturally formed Devil's Pool, near the edge of the falls.
When the river flow is at a safe level, usually during the months of September to
December, people can swim as close as possible to the edge of the falls within the
pool without continuing over the edge and falling into the gorge. This is possible
due to a natural rock wall just below the water and at the very edge of the falls that
stops their progress despite the current.
Hotel: David Livingstone Safari Lodge
Breakfast and Dinner included
Day 16 – Sunday, September 14: Livingstone
We will visit the Mosi O Tunya National Park situated along the upper Zambezi
stretching from and including the Falls. Though small in size, the park provides a
home for numerous antelope species, zebra, giraffe and the recently acquired white
rhinos, one of whom gave birth in the park in 1994. These are the only rhinos to be
seen in Zambia because its previously large population has been completely
eliminated through poaching.
A sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River is a must for the visitor. Just upstream from the magnificent falls,
crocodiles and hippos are the staple of these legendary exhilarating cruises.
Hotel: David Livingstone Safari Lodge
Breakfast and Dinner included
Day 17 – Monday, September 15: Livingstone  Mbeya, Tanzania  Arusha, Tanzania
695 + 380 NM
Fly to Mbeya, Tanzania for a technical stop to refuel. Then fly to Arusha where a local airline flight brings us to the
Serengeti airstrip for our transfer to the current location of the exclusive Serengeti Under Canvas camp.
The annual movement of wildebeest across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem is one of the greatest spectacles in the
natural world as the horizon fills with 1.5 million wildebeest,
200.000 zebra, 18,000 eland and 500,000 Thompson’s
gazelle, relentlessly tracked by Africa’s great predators.
The wildebeest migration is dependent on the seasonal rains
taking place when expected and variations may affect the
timing of the animals’ movements. The Serengeti Under
Canvas semi-permanent camps travel across the Serengeti
year round bringing guests within easy reach of the Great
Migration.
Hotel: Serengeti Under Canvas Camp

depart as the heat of the day breaks on an afternoon game drive in search for lion, leopard, hyena and jackal gearing
up for their nocturnal hunts. Cocktails around a blazing fire will be waiting for us on our return followed by dinner
under the stars.
