Kala Sangam, St Peters House, 1 Forster Square,
Bradford, BD1 4TY. Disabled Accessible, Car Parking

Chance to view Bharatanatyam Dance class from 9.30 –
12.30, Try a FREE a series of taster workshops on
Islamic geometric design, less than an hour each. Each
workshops starts on the hour. The first one at 10am, the
last one at 4pm.
AF 2 - Ferndean Manor Art & Craft
Fair Sun 3rd June ~ 10am - 5pm
Ferndean Manor, Cragg Bottom Road, Oldfield, Haworth,
Keighley, BD22 OJL. The majority of events are outside
or on ground level. The cafe and Bar are upstairs but
there will be waiter service that covers the whole event.
On site parking (including overnight for camper vans
etc) in secured car park. Cafe, restaurant, licensed bar,
toilets, shops
Events include The Haworth Storytelling festival; a one
day family event celebrating the forms of storytelling from
classic tales to modern urban legends and delivered
through several performances using traditional story
circles, images, technology and music. To compliment the
different events there will be facepainting, craft activities,
stalls, food, refreshments and a few surprises too. There
will also be a performance by the Steampunks of the
Palace of Curiosities and there will be Art on display as
part of the Open Exhibition being held here.
AF 3 - Cottingley Cornerstone Art &
Craft Fair Mon 4th June ~ 10am - 4pm
The Cottingley Cornerstone Centre, Littlelands,
Cottingley, Bingley, BD16 1AL. The site is fully accessible
and there is limited car parking on site plus on street
parking nearby. There is a cafe and toilets.
There will be chance to bring your digital camera along
for some FREE advice from a photography professional
at an informal drop in session.

Learn how to draw Islamic geometric patterns
using the same tools that traditional Islamic
craftsmen have used for centuries: a pair of
compasses, a pencil and a ruler.
I am an embroiderer using both hand and machine
stitch to create framed art. Recently I have been
working on embroidered "line drawings" of local
places and wildlife.

I am fascinated by ignored and unrecognised
spaces. I use a variety of textile techniques
including knitting , traditional as well as nontraditional materials to produce sculptural
installations.
My work grows out of drawing and is developed
into digital, print and painted images. I would
describe it as semi-abstract, lyrical, but often with
recognisable forms.

I am a contemporary felt maker, inspired by Van
Gogh, working with wet felting and needle felting. I
use wool like paints, building up layers of rich
colours and textures.
Throughout my life I have had the desire to create,
and the joy and excitement of painting never

painting will be about.

I combine layers of different print techniques with
stitch, often on paper, to make contemplative
artworks. My work is informed by landscape and
the detail of the natural world.
In my work, I question modern culture, in
particular, emerging media. Young people are
increasingly dependent on emerging media. My
project, Automaton, questions this acceptance and
dependence in these technologies.

A sculptural ceramicist and photographer based
on the edge of the South Pennines of Yorkshire,
my work is inspired by the form, images, textures
and colours of that landscape.
I prefer to work in oils and pastels. I gain inspiration
from the impressionist movement, particularly Van
Gogh and Monet and I love to paint bright and
vibrant paintings.

Water and mountains, buildings and gates inspire
my work, sometimes I include animals. I paint in
oil, acrylic and watercolour, also many paintings
are available as limited edition prints.
Hand built ceramic forms inspired by nature, ancient
ceramic pottery and the inherent properties of the
materials. Dry-barium or copper glaze, wax resist and
oxides enhance the finished forms.

I paint both representational portraits and

Making art is like moving house. The stimulus of
physical upheaval is a constant inspiration to my
artwork. The media and ideas used move on as I
move physically .
I am a visual artist, working in watercolor, ink,
gouache and pastel. Always inspired by nature, I

The Tranzient Gallery, was originally built in 2003.
It is basically a curiosity Cabinet on the back of a
bicycle built in a Neo-Victorian Style.
Textiles
I love to draw from the human figure and am
interested in how line can describe not only form
but the simultaneous dynamism and vulnerability
of the body.
My textile studies are made of naturally-dyed,
repurposed fabrics and traditional hand-stitching. I
grow and process my own dye plants.

I draw my subject matter from the natural and
historic landscape of the region. Oil paint, heavily
applied with a knife produces three-dimensional,
sculpted, images.
I work in watercolour and textiles. My work is
always figuratively based, whether landscapes,
portraits or flowers, using layers of transparent
fabric to build the image.
I work directly from nature, using oil to paint
landscapes and watercolour, ink or acrylic to paint
plants and flowers. I am a colourist and continue to
explore with energy.

I have always felt at ease when trying to bring to
light an image, I use soft pastels with paint crayon
charcoal. I hope to create thought in others.
My passion for animals and wildlife has led me to
specialise in capturing them in pastels and tinted
charcoal, beginning with the eyes ‘the windows of
the Soul’.
I make decorative stained glass pieces for the home
and garden, both abstract and figurative. All pieces
are individual and hand made by me.
