Mark 10
46Then
Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight
they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples,
together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind
man, Bartimaeus (that is, the Son of Timaeus), was sitting by
the roadside begging. 47When he heard that it was Jesus of
Nazareth, he began to shout, "Jesus, Son of David, have
mercy on me!“ 48Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet,
but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on
me!" 49Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they called to
the blind man, "Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you."
50Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to
Jesus. 51"What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked
him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see.“ 52"Go," said
Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received
his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

And Can It Be / SA 283
1. And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Saviour's blood?
Died he for me who caused his pain,
For me who him to death pursued?
Amazing love! how can it be
That thou, my God shouldst die for me?

And Can It Be / SA 283
2. He left his Father's throne above,
So free, so infinite his grace,
Emptied himself of all but love
And bled for Adam's helpless race.
Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For, O my God, it found out me.

And Can It Be / SA 283
3. Long my imprisoned spirit lay
Fast bound in sin and nature's night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray;
I woke; the dungeon flamed with light.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed thee.

4. No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in him, is mine.
Alive in him, my living head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach the eternal throne
And claim the crown,
through Christ My own.
