ommunity Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is the flagship of
Community Medical Centers’ three acute-care facilities, with
909 licensed beds throughout the four-hospital system and has
an average of 650 inpatients a day just at CRMC. The hospital provides
central California residents with the highest level of care available in the
region. Its affiliation with University of California, San Francisco Medical
School – one of the top medical schools in the nation – gives patients access
to some of the brightest medical specialists in the country.
CRMC was the first hospital in the world to offer
Generation 6 CyberKnife technology for treating
cancer and its one-of-a-kind Central California
Neuroscience Institute brings together clinical
experts in brain tumors, stroke, dementia,
Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s, and more.
It began in 1897 with Celia Burnett, proprietor of a
successful boarding house at the southeast corner
of Fulton and Calaveras streets in Fresno, California.
She joined forces with Fresno physicians to form a
private hospital called the Burnett Sanitarium.
Today, this academic-affiliated medical center is
located on a 58-acre campus in downtown Fresno.
The campus is home to a full-service, 56,000-squarefoot emergency department – one of the largest in
California — is home to the Table Mountain Rancheria
Trauma Center and Leon S. Peters Burn Center, the
region’s only comprehensive burn and Level 1 trauma centers.
As a leader in cardiac services, CRMC is one of the few hospitals in the nation chosen to administer the
HeartMate II, a life-saving heart pump for patients waiting for a heart transplant. It is one of the busiest
birthing centers in California and has the largest Level III neonatal intensive care unit in the Valley. Its

combined expertise in both adult and newborn medicine makes this hospital the only in the area where
recovering mothers and critically ill babies can stay together for the care they need.
Community Regional Medical Center
The campus features the Deran Koligian Ambulatory Care Center, a 79,534-square-foot facility that’s
home to asthma, dental, diabetes, eye, family and adult practice, HIV/AIDS care, internal medicine, oral
and maxillofacial surgery, and women’s and children’s clinics.
Across from CRMC is Terry’s House, a 17,000-square-foot, two-story home that provides a supportive
residence for families while their loved ones receive critical care in the hospital. More than 250 doctors
train each year at CRMC through the UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program, affiliated with University of
California San Francisco Medical School, which consistently ranks among the nation’s top medical schools.
Residency programs are offered in emergency medicine, family and community medicine, internal medicine,
obstetrics/gynecology, orthopedics, pediatrics, psychiatry and surgery. Fellowships are offered in acute-care
surgery, cardiovascular disease, emergency medicine education, emergency ultrasound, gastroenterology,
hospice and palliative medicine, infectious disease, interventional cardiology, maternal-child health, minimally invasive surgery, pulmonary and critical care, critical care surgery, sleep medicine, and wilderness
medicine.

CRMC has the only comprehensive, around-the-clock,
fully staffed burn center between Los Angeles and
Sacramento. Patients are treated by a medical team
specially trained to care for adults and children with
burn injuries. More than 60% of outpatients and
about 30% admitted for burn injuries are children
and it’s one of only three California Children’s
Services approved Burn Centers in California.
