The Heat Reflective Series is manufactured using space aged technology. The shields are
coated with a mirror-like surface of pure 24K gold to reflect the radiant energy away from

Paints and Chemicals wipe clean.
The Chemical and Paint Resistant Faceshield is manufactured with the Oberon® Silicote™-6 coating, which acts as a
barrier, protecting the outer surface from damage. Acids, bases and solvents (except Hydrofluoric Acid) wipe off without
damaging the shield. A shield with paint spatter cleans off with paint thinner leaving the shield clear. Please do not try

Safety Glasses prior to 1980 you had a minimum of styles in Safety Glasses in fact, through the
30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and most of the 70’s everyone wore an S-7 shape lens with either a smoke,
black or flesh colored frame. A safety director could look across a shop floor and know that everyone was wearing their Safety Glasses.
Nowadays with hundreds of styles NO ONE is really sure that everyone is wearing their safety
glasses and that’s a problem. People pick up eyeglasses from drugstores, home improvement centers. Some do meet ANSI specifications eyewear for industrial use, some are FDA approved and
many imports have had no testing done whatsoever! People want to be fashionable, they want to
stand out from the crowd, that’s fine. However, a skilled employee is a valuable resource, one not
to be squandered because of a cute pair of eyeglasses worn in the wrong place!
Be able to quickly recognize that everyone in your WORK AREA is wearing Industrial Eyewear that
meets ANSI Z87.1-2010 specifications. That is one step toward a safe workplace!

EYE PROTECTION, Spectacles
OSHA REGULATIONS says:
1910.133(a)(1)
The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious
light radiation.
1910.133(a)(2)
The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses eye protection that provides side protection when there
is a hazard from flying objects. Detachable side protectors (e.g. clip-on or slide-on side shields) meeting the pertinent
requirements of this section are acceptable.
1910.133(a)(3)
The employer shall ensure that each affected employee who wears prescription lenses while engaged in operations
that involve eye hazards wears eye protection that incorporates the prescription in its design, or wears eye protection
that can be worn over the prescription lenses without disturbing the proper position of the prescription lenses or the
protective lenses.

Eye and face PPE shall be distinctly marked to facilitate identification of the manufacturer.

Fact:
Thousands of people are blinded each year from work-related eye injuries that
could have been prevented with the proper selection and use of eye and face protection. Eye injuries alone cost more than $300 million per year in lost production
time, medical expenses, and worker compensation.
OSHA requires employers to ensure the safety of all employees in the work environment. skin cancer, skin aging, eye damage, and may affect the immune system. UV lamps one of the main sources for Ultraviolet exposure can be found in Printing for curing the ink, Waste Water Treatment facilities use the lamps to treat grey
water. The UV Polycarbonate shield can be used for spot welding to protect against the high levels of Ultraviolet. Arc

The Chemical and Paint Resistant Faceshield is manufactured with the Oberon® Silicote™-6 coating, which acts as a
barrier, protecting the outer surface from damage. Mild acids, bases and solvents (except Hydrofluoric Acid) wipe off
without damaging the shield. A shield with paint spatter cleans off with paint thinner leaving the shield clear. Please do

OBERON’s Didymium II Face Fit® Shield for glass manufacturing or glassblowing, especially when a gas (propane)
powered furnace is used. The shield provides a filter which selectively blocks the yellowish light at 589 nm (nanometers)

Oberon® Polycarbonate caps
No assembly required! ANSI Z89.1 2009 and CSA Z94.1-2005.
Type 1, meets Class C, G & E under ANSI.
Molded Polycarbonate
6 point suspension that molds to the contour of the head for comfort and stability. Available
with either Pinlock size adjustment or Ratchet. Tested through the temperature range of –22⁰F
through 120⁰F to ANSI Standards Low Temperature Standard and the CSA standard.
Slotted for multiple applications: Oberon® Hearing Protectors, Oberon® Faceshields
Available in White, Yellow and Orange.
Type 1 Helmets are intended to reduce the force of impact resulting from a blow to the top of the head.
Our Polycarbonate caps meet the ANSI and CSA Specifications.

Class C did not change from the old standard. This class provides no electrical
insulation.

This is equivalent to the old Class B. Class E protective helmets are tested at
20,000 volts with a leakage that shall not exceed 9 milliamps.

Why purchasing Hard Caps with the suspension installed is
important to you!
Having the suspensions installed when you receive them provide several benefits to
you:
1. You know the suspensions are installed correctly. Your employees are protected.
2. You don’t have a highly compensated employee sitting around for 15 to 20
minutes installing the suspension on the safety cap.
3. Once your employees see how the suspension should be installed, they will have
no problem when replacing them.

STOP! READ WARNINGS BEFORE USE
The shell of the cap should inspected prior to each use looking for surface damage like abrasion, scrapes, nicks or deterioration
of the surface finish caused by UV degradation. The suspension should also be inspected to insure it is properly installed and
free of damage. If the hard cap has been altered or damaged, it should be taken out of service and immediately replaced. To
clean, use warm water and soap, rinse and dry with a soft cloth. To disinfect, use a 10% hypochlorite (bleach) solution for 10
minutes and air dry. Do not paint or apply chemicals to the surface of the hard cap.

Every year, approximately 30 million people in the United States are occupationally exposed to hazardous noise.
Noise-related hearing loss has been listed as one of the most prevalent occupational health concerns in the
United States for more than 25 years. Thousands of workers every year suffer from preventable hearing loss due
to high workplace noise levels. Since 2004, the Bureau of Labor Statistics has reported that nearly 125,000 workers have suffered significant, permanent hearing loss. In 2009 alone, BLS reported more than 21,000 hearing loss
cases.
Exposure to high levels of noise can cause permanent hearing loss. Neither surgery nor a hearing aid can help correct this
type of hearing loss. Short term exposure to loud noise can also cause a temporary change in hearing (your ears may feel
stuffed up) or a ringing in your ears (nnitus). These short-term problems may go away within a few minutes or hours a"er
leaving the noisy area. However, repeated exposures to loud noise can lead to permanent nnitus and/or hearing loss.
NRR (Noise Reduction Rating) is a measurement in decibels of how well a
hearing protector reduces ambient noise.

TRUTH IN SIZING
Oberon proudly manufactures garments with sizing that conforms with EN-13402.
Chest: measure just under arms and across the shoulder blades holding the tape measure firm and level.
Waist: measure around the natural waistline
The top of sizing chart is for our shirts and pants while the lower section is for our coveralls.
When measuring the waist of coveralls, measure the larger of your waist or belly. Coverall are designed to be worn over
clothing so inseams are longer. If you do not plan to wear the coveralls over clothing but over your underwear (or the
like), typically order one (1) alpha size smaller. Coveralls are designed to be worn over clothing so your clothing inseams are shorter, your coverall inseams are slightly longer to prevent binding crotch

Extraction Suits started out as a Made to Order for a customer. The process is not complicated, we simply have to communicate with one another.

GAS EXTRACTION COVERALL
Application: Gas Utility Linemen and Industrial Employees who are working on, repairing or maintaining gas transmission pipelines, especially underground pipelines exposed in a trench, where there is potential of Blowing Gas Ignition
and explosion.
Description: Natural gas is a gaseous fossil fuel consisting primarily of methane. When working on, repairing or maintaining transmission pipelines, especially underground pipelines exposed in a trench, there is potential of igniting leaking gas. This ignition, often the result of a spark created by work tools, can result in an explosive release of energy or
fireball that will envelope all workers within the trench. The Gas Extraction coverall protects the user by insulating him
or her against the heat. The time it will take for the worker to climb out of the trench is the time the worker will be exposed to the intense heat from the fire. Therefore, this expected exposure time indicates the level of protection the
garment needs to provide.
Typical flame resistant (FR) coveralls used for industrial flash fire protection meet the NFPA 2112 protection requirement that a user will sustain less than 50% body area burn injury in a 3 second simulated flash fire condition based on

The Gas Extraction Coverall is constructed entirely of FR materials, including the Fabric system, Velcro, Zipper and threads. Considering the very high level of protection, the Fabric system is a remarkably light weight (6.3 oz/yd2, 14 oz/yd2, 22 oz/yd2); lighter weight means less
stress on the user. The coveralls are built with a Harness Port in the back, a pass through for
the lanyard for the harness, necessary to extract the user in the event of a flash fire accident.
Pant legs have ankle straps for sealing pant cuff against flammable gas entry; the sleeve
openings at the wrist have straps for the same reason.

Aluminized Rayon, Aluminized Carbon Kevlar and Aluminized Glass Cloth materials. The addition of the FR lining adds
additional protection from molten metal splash without sacrificing comfort. The Aluminized PBI/Kevlar is soft, moves
easily with the body movement with little resistance and doesn’t crease

Heat Reflective Aluminized Rayon Hoods
Aluminized” Hoods, Coats & Bib-Overalls – Oberon®’s space age gold heat reflective windows uses the same technology to protect the astronauts in outer space. Pure gold is vacuum deposited directly on the outer surface of the window.
The layer of gold is then protected with Oberon®’s Silicote™-1 Scratch Resistant coatings. Other manufactures use a
gold polyester film that is not as durable and heat resistant as our layer of pure gold covered with a scratch resistant
coating.
Oberon® uses several different aluminized fabrics for different performance requirements.
Aluminized Rayon offers radiant heat protection for the worker. The Aluminized Rayon series has fewer features for the

Body Cooling Vests
Blue colored Body Cooling Vests constructed of Fire Retardant material comes in two sizes: Regular and Tall. Velcro
size adjustment allows for a full range of sizing. Cold packs are non-toxic to the skin and non-flammable. Double
layered quilted fabric to keep “COOL” in towards the body. The Vests are designed to be worn over clothes. Cool the
cool packs in a cooler with refrigerator or ice water so they are chilled, not frozen. You just want to keep the wearer’s
core temperature down not make the wearer uncomfortable by wearing frozen cold packs which would also inhibit one’s
movement.
How Long – Cooling time of 1 hour will vary depending upon the ambient temperatures and the exertion level of the
worker wearing the vest.
How to Wear—Wear the cooling vest snug to the body, (not tight), to the ribcage to provide cooling to your upper torso
for maximum cooling effect.
How to Recharge – For ideal comfort, cool rechargeable cooling packs in ice water before using. A spare set can be
kept in a cooler and rotated with those in the vest for continuous use. Freezing the packs will extend the cooling time,
but the temperature difference will be more noticeable to the body.
FR Vest Materials – All materials, including the fabric, elastic Velcro and rechargeable cooling packs are flame retardant.

BENCHTOP WORKSHIELD
Benchtop protection from splash and flying particles. The Work Shield provides additional protection in industrial and
laboratory applications. Each unit comes with an Oberon Cover Goggle for proper, basic eye protection.
The Deluxe Model incorporates the Silicote™-1 Scratch Resistant coating on the outer surface of the viewing area to
resist hazing and scratching from daily use. The inner surface is coated with the Silicote-6 Chemical resistant coating
for proper protection from chemical splash. Base is polyethylene which offers excellent chemical resistance for long
service life.

WEIGHTED BASE LAB SHIELD
The Weighted Base Lab Shield is an ideal observation barrier. Work can be
conducted behind the shield, while the worker or technician is protected from
splash and flying particles.
The Weighted Lab Shield has several stability features built in. The shield incorporates a one piece acrylic barrier with straight front and two 45 degree angles (no seams for material to pass
through). The base is constructed of 1/2” thick polypropylene. The base gives the shield a low center of gravity, so
it will not tip over easily. (Note: No benchtop product will be tip proof unless clamped to table top).
Viewing area is manufactured of clear 3/8” thick acrylic. Suitable for compliance with OSHA CFR 1910.1030.

FLEXIBLE BENCHTOP SHIELD
The Flex Shield is made from 19 gauge 2 x 2 mesh 24” x 48”. The wire mesh fits into a translucent PVC film cover
with a zipper along one edge. The Flex Shield can be formed into varying shapes to provide the protection
coverage you want. The wire mesh holds the shape while the vinyl provides splash protection.

Net 30 days to recognized Oberon Distributors with established credit. Failure to pay invoices
within payment terms jeopardizes future pricing and credit terms. Accounts over 60 days will be

There is no minimum order requirement. An invoicing fee of US $10 will be added to the invoice of
all orders with merchandise that total (at distributor cost) under US $100.00
