A Christmas Miracle
With a little help from the Londonderry Rotary, retired Fire Chief Al Sypek,
current Fire Chief Darren O’Brien, the Londonderry Fire and Police
departments and Londonderry Town Hall, the annual Londonderry Town
Common Christmas Tree Lighting was a complete success this year. Thank you
to all who came out to make this a special event. We were happy to have the
local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops to decorate the trees on the Common
this year. Most importantly, a BIG thank you to Mrs. Claus and Santa for
making an appearance for the children.

Winter Weather Closings
Winter is coming and we are hoping it is going to be a mild one. However,
none of us can predict what Mother Nature is going to throw our way. So, in
anticipation of the winter season, it is good to remind everyone about the
Londonderry Senior Center weather policy. When the Londonderry Schools
have a delayed opening or are closed, the Londonderry Senior Center will be
CLOSED.
Please tune into WMUR and watch the tickers across the bottom of the
screen or go to www.wmur.com for all closures and delays.
Meals on Wheels
The Rockingham Nutrition program is looking to expand their services to
the Senior Center. Currently they serve lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays
and Thursdays. They would like to incorporate Fridays as well. However,
in order to do this we need to know how many of you would be interested
in coming for lunch on Fridays. We need a significant number to make this
work and cannot do it with just five or six people. Please speak with
Jeanne or Cathy at the center if you would like to get on the list or with any
questions/comments.

DIRECTIONS
* Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. *
Add the oil to a large pot of boiling salted water, add the pasta and cook al dente
according to the directions on the package. Drain well. Heat the milk in a small
saucepan, but don't allow it to boil. In a large pot, melt 6 tablespoons of the butter
and add the flour. Cook over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly with a whisk.
Still whisking, add the hot milk and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, until thickened and
smooth. Off the heat, add the Gruyere, Cheddar, 1 tablespoon salt, the pepper and
nutmeg and stir until the cheese melts. Stir in the cooked pasta and lobster. Pile the
mixture into 6 to 8 (2-cup) gratin dishes. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter,
combine with the bread crumbs and sprinkle on top. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until
the sauce is bubbly and the pasta is browned on top.
