Welcome | ISC 2016
Welcome to ISC 2016 and to the City of Frankfurt
Based on the success and feedback we received from
last year’s attendees, we are convinced that Frankfurt
is an ideal venue for this year’s conference and beyond.
There aren’t that many modern conference facilities
within such easy reach, and which are also surrounded
by an ample number of hotels and meeting facilities.
Combined with Frankfurt’s vibrant energy, this venue is
a perfect location for an international conference like
ISC High Performance.
Thomas und Martin Meuer
The main goal of this conference is to support and build the global HPC community by providing a
dynamic forum to meet, exchange ideas and do business. However, academic credibility is also
important to HPC conference goers. To change direction, we spent the last two years involving the
community more deeply in the program. We are pulling different people from diverse areas of
expertise into the program to ignite new ideas. The ISC Program Chair, for example, has been a
rotating position since 2014. We are proud to say that this year’s program reflects the strongest community involvement! The ISC
Program Team, headed by 2016 Program Chair Professor Dr. Satoshi Matsuoka, along with the
committee chairs and committee members, spent countless hours identifying and selecting the
timeliest topics for the attendees. We also met regularly to develop a better submission procedure
and selection criteria for the research papers, posters, the PhD Forum and more.
All these efforts have resulted in a state-of-the-art conference program. Don’t miss out on anything,
be it the three inspiring keynotes, the tutorials, the workshops, the exhibition or the socializing
opportunities. Each offers a unique and valuable experience.
Lastly we extend our sincere thanks to the ISC Program Chair, committee chairs and members,
contributors, sponsors, partners, and volunteers, as well as our own events team. We wish you a
great conference!
Best regards,
Martin Meuer and Thomas Meuer
