I want to thank our drivers, yard employees and all our staff for the incredible job you did over the most challenging winter weather in recent memory. With few exceptions, the Active team did it safely and without injuries. I am truly proud to be surrounded by such fantastic professionals. After another challenging period, the three year recession, truck sales are increasing and our customers will get more than their share with their high quality trucks. As a result, we are expending considerable effort in recruiting, hiring and training the best drivers in the industry. The majority of our newly hired drivers have been referred by our existing employees. Thank you for that. I am very proud during my travels to see how our experienced drivers take our new hires under their wing, even sharing cell phones numbers in case they run into problems. Active is truly a team. A team – but in a truly tough sport. Delivering heavy and medium duty trucks via saddle mount is not for everyone. There is a high level of talent needed to deliver sometimes a half million dollars of class 8 trucks to challenging delivery locations and hard work reassembling them once on the ground. We find, though, that once a driver learns how to do it efficiently and safely he or she rarely leaves. They pull into truck stops with their heads held high and chests out with a new set of trucks knowing THEY ARE THE TRUCKERS WHO DELIVER ALL OTHER TRUCKERS’TRUCKS! In closing I want to remind everyone, to email me your safety suggestion, at [email protected] Please be safe out there Bruce Jackson Recently Active received a note from JX-Peterbilt in Waukesha Wisconsin, regarding Garry Crye from Denton. JX– Peterbilt wrote that as you know Wisconsin was not spared being exposed to a very rough winter this year and with temps below normal. In these condiƟons AcƟve drivers have to do their deliveries and then try to clean-up aŌer. Snow and ice will hide a lot for a long Ɵme unƟl spring nally arrives... JX Peterbilt said, “Garry, without being asked, and after helping a fellow driver un-deck (3) more tractors here... so the other driver could be on his way to another delivery started a "spring cleaning” that, well I could not have done a better job myself. As I was leaving for the day, I stopped and wanted to thank him for his outstanding job on his own time, but to my amazement Garry apologized to me for Active... saying "this should have been cleaned-up better after each delivery over the winter by (me) and my fellow drivers". Please make sure Mr. Garry Crye gets a "Job well done" note from his supervisors, and next time we have the pleasure of seeing Garry at our location, Rick Smith our General Manager would like to meet and thank him personally. Juan Rankin commends Garry for his pride in the job and his professional, safe representation of Active to our customer. Thank you Garry! Lower your Speed Increase Your Space Because you drove & survived today. Now, its time to kick back & enjoy. As it starts over again in the morning Chuck Tinker visited with Peterbilt at their 75th anniversary, at the Mid America Truck Show Don’t maneuver or back up without rst geƫng out and “Taking-ALap”, to make an assessment of the area Don’t manhandle a saddle. Save your back or a nger. Look for a mechanical means or ask the dealer for help. Proper bagging and staging of decking equipment is essenƟal to everyone's safety. Please follow your training. Bruce Jackson, thanks two old friends Robert Parker and Brent Estell of Chillicothe, for their contributions to the company.
