At the heart of each So Easy studio is a Clyde OctoMix professional analog broadcast mixer, which incorporates all of the ‘must have’, most of the ‘would be nice’ and none of the ‘don’t need’ features. With eight faders, OctoMix has inputs for three microphones, a telephone balancing unit, three feeds from a PC-based automation system and a CD player. So Easy packages also include S-Radio, a derivative of Clyde’s highly acclaimed Synergy software, which includes tools for recording, ripping, editing, scheduling and both live assist and automated broadcast. Making extensive use of a large touchscreen, linked to the mixer’s faders and buttons, S-Radio and OctoMix provide a level of integration and user experience only normally found on systems costing ten times the price. Content is stored on an industrial rack-mounting PC, with fully mirrored 1Tb hard drives, and four professional soundcards. Further information is available in our SO EASY RADIO publication, available via our sales office or downloadable from our website www.clydebroadcast.com the SER2 premium plus package a feature-rich two-studio radio station The SER2 Premium Plus radio station package includes two identical So Easy self-op studio packages and a ‘CTA’ equipment rack, which links the two studios and provides the interface to the outside world. Each studio can be used for broadcast or production work, and offers a high level of robustness – the production studio can always be switched ‘to air’, acting as a back-up broadcast studio. system schematic Main On Air Studio Station output A switcher in the CTA rack (CTA standing for Central Technical Area) determines which studio feeds the transmitter. Suitable for commercial radio stations, internet broadcasters, educational organisations and community radio, the SER Premium Plus radio station package includes everything required to create and broadcast professional programs on a 24/7 basis, in both live assist and fully automated (unattended) modes. Off-Air Receiver Talks Talks Studio Studio (optional) (optional) CTA1 Equipment rack Logger Logger (Optional) (Optional) Production/BackUp On Air Studio Content is copied between PCs in the two studios, so that in the event of a hard-disc failure, for example, valuable material is always retrievable. For stations required (by law) to make off-air recordings, ‘logging’ software can be installed on a customer supplied PC, together with a set of interconnection cables. The logging PC can also have an optional GPS receiver card, which can act as an accurate station time source, to which other PCs can be synchronised. what you get the SER premium plus studio studio schematic EACH of the two So Easy Premium Plus Studio Package includes: · · · · · · · · · · · · · · Clyde OctoMix professional broadcast mixer with dual power supplies Mic Live S-Radio Software Suite – with tools for record and edit, production and scheduling, live assist and automated broadcast Rack-mount PC with Mirrored 1Tb HDDs, two dual soundcards and pre-installed software 22” Touchscreen, mouse and keyboard Pres HP Presenter and Guest Mics Telephone interface with handset 2 Guest HP 3 CR LS 3 x broadcast microphones, on arms 2 x guest remote control panels 3 pairs broadcast headphones Pair of Active monitor speakers 2 x MIC LIVE/ON AIR indicators, for inside and outside of the studio Ergonomic technical furniture with choice of grey or burgundy table top 5 Record PC PC Studio Output To CTA PGM Out 6 7 PF Out Mains distribution To PC Record Preview In Pre-wired cable looms CD Player 8 Telphone Balancing Unit 4 Ext. The CTA rack has a footprint of about 0.5m x 0.5m and is about 0.4m high, so can easily sit on a table or shelf in a room adjacent to the studios. A single 13A isolated mains power feed is required to each room and to the CTA rack, together with a technical earth, as mains distribution is incorporated into each studio package. It is highly recommended that ALL equipment is fed from a suitably rated UPS. If the mains power is very erratic, an AVR and possibly a standby generator may be required. The rooms should be acoustically treated internally, to stop them sounding like bathrooms, and Clyde CATS panels are particularly well-suited for this. All room MUST be air-conditioned. installation and training The SER2 Package typically takes three days to install. Comprehensive installation instructions are provided and in many cases customers can install the system themselves, with remote support from Clyde, or in combination with Clyde’s local partners. Basic operational training can be provided at the time of installation, or more comprehensive training can be provided at additional cost, to meet individual needs, often depending on the level of experience within the organisation. support One of the big advantages of the So Easy Radio concept is the single point of contact for support. Clyde can tailor support packages to suit individual customer needs. With a dedicated Customer Support Manager, and sophisticated CRM tools, you can rely on first class support, in many cases supported by Clyde’s in-country partners.
