A moulded, radiating feature with a pendant light suspended from its center.

A ceiling rose may be used to frame a light fixture,
or, when filled with a rosette, simply center a
room. Ideally, it should be slightly larger than the
fixture diameter (including “arms”) it is to frame.

A ceiling ring may be used as an alternative to
the ceiling rose. In order to differentiate the area
within the ring, colour a shade darker than the
rest of the ceiling can be applied.

To choose a ceiling centre appropriate for your site, the size
and style of room, ceiling height, size of light fixture, etc.

is very much a matter of taste, the only general guide which
we offer is that you usually select a centre 2 to 4 inches
wider in diameter than the widest diameter of the lighting
fixture to be used.
Centre Installation
Trace the outline of the centrepiece on the ceiling surface.
Determine whether the ceiling is flat by placing the centre
against the surface. If it is not, chip or scratch the surface
until the centre fits flush with the surface.
Predrill 4 or more small holes in the ceiling centre. Choose
somewhat flat or nondecorative areas in which to use
screws, so that filling the holes when the centre is in place
on the ceiling will be easier. Drill holes at an angle to
improve security of the centre to the surface. Screws should
be countersunk, and penetrate about 1 to 1 1/2 inches into
