PrinceCraft Boats
Announces
Amarok DLX WS
a new range of boats named after
the Inuit legend Amarok.
In Inuktitut, “Amarok” is the spirit of the
wolf. In angler speak, it’s a boat that lets
you stalk fish like nothing else!
For 2015 Princecraft
offers a new range of
boats named after
the Inuit legend
Amarok. Built to handle most waterways, Amarok
models combine affordability, functionality, and
reliability. These boats get you to where the fish
are so you get the most out of a fishing spot.
At 16’-6” long and 88” wide, the Amarok
DLX line is available in models with side
console (and optional port side console) or full
windshield. Despite their compact design, which
makes them easy to tow and launch, these
boats feature the kind of style and equipment
usually found on larger models, such as raised
casting platforms at the bow and stern, rod
storage space, a livewell, and vinyl cladding
on the platforms and compartments. And for
greater passenger comfort, you can even add
the optional aft flip seats to the stern platform
and get 2 extra folding seats and cup holders.
All that, plus the standard Princecraft
features like the famous 5052-H36 marine grade
aluminum, reverse chine hull (twin plated from
bow to mid-ship), and plenty of storage space
to make sure you have a great day on the water.
Amarok DLXWS
Amarok models can be fitted with a Mercury
outboard motor ranging from 40 to 75
horsepower, for fast and easy navigation,
whether you’re heading out to a fishing spot or
just cruising around. And for greater autonomy,
this model comes with a portable 55 liter gas
tank (14.5 U.S. gal.).
Amarok boats truly embody all the
qualities of the wolf: speed, strength, and
reliable. There’s no better way to track down
your underwater prey!

Hardcore fishing goodies, meet amazing
economy in Lund’s progressive 1750 Rebel XS.
Boosting its already
enduring status as
the leading American builder of premium
fishing boats, Lund recently announced news
of another exceptional model introduction, the
all new 1750 Rebel XS. At 17 feet, 6 inches in
length and with an ample 85-inch beam, Lund’s
newest Rebel offers exceptional engineering at
a truly tremendous price.
“No other boat in its class has so many
superior fishing features as the 1750 Rebel XS,”
noted Lund Director of Marketing, Jason Oakes.
Among a pleasantly surprising list of
bonuses is Lund’s efficient and fully functional
Center Rod Storage. The first Rebel to offer this
luxury rod locker, the 1750 Rebel XS organizes
five rods up to 7 feet long each for quick, easy
access, while a side rod locker safeguards
additional rods up to 8 feet, 6 inches in length.
Built around Lund’s rock-solid patented
IPS® hull, the new 1750 Rebel XS is initially offered
with a side console (SS) or a full windshield (Sport).
Strategically priced between Lund’s 1650 Rebel
XL and its tremendously popular 1775 Impact,
the new 1750 Rebel XS is poised to become one
of the top values in fishing boats today.
Rebel XS 1750
A nearly legendary name among Lund’s
extensive fishing boat fleet, the 2015 Rebel XS
is loaded like never before. In addition to eliteclass rod storage, this economically priced boat
also houses a 14-gallon aerated livewell, hightech command console, cavernous amounts
of hidden storage, and a spacious cockpit area
capable of accommodating up to six passengers.
Oakes added that Lund is also offering
several exciting options for this model. “Like
some of our more advanced models, the Rebel
XS is capable of instantly transforming into a
dual-purpose fish and ski boat. Great options
like rear flip seats with a ski pylon, and an Infinity
Bluetooth stereo make the Rebel a wonderful
boat for all kinds of family fun.”
Armed with Lund’s exclusive Sport Trak™
gunwales for adding rod holders and other
accessories without drilling holes, as well as the
Pro Trak™ boat covering system, the 1750 Rebel
XS offers budget-minded fishing and watersport
enthusiasts with the best of all worlds. Priced
starting at under $20k (boat, 90hp 4-Stroke
engine, trailer), the new 1750 Rebel XL can be
seen at boat shows this year.
Lund Boats
A Legendary Guide’s New
Walleye Ride
Lund Boats’ refreshed Pro Guide tiller
series offers luxury engineering and all new
angling goodies.
Spanning a magical half-century-plus career,
Mr. Walleye, Gary Roach, has fished from a full
fleet of Lund tiller boats. So when the legendary
pro recently spoke glowingly about his newest
walleye ride— the radically re-engineered Lund
Pro Guide— marine industry types perked up
and took notes.
“Sitting in the captain’s chair of my new
Pro Guide feels like fishing in my living room,”
Roach chuckles. “The boat’s that roomy, that
ProGuide 1775
comfortable. And it’s got a bunch of brand new
goodies—sweet little surprises for which Lund
engineers have become famous. This rig is going
to turn some heads.”
With three newly designed Pro Guides—
the 1775, 1875 and 2075 models— Lund now
offers the most complete series of hardcore
tiller fishing boats in the industry. Constructed
with noticeably lengthened hulls and broader
beams, the new Pro Guides provide exceptional
comfort and legroom, plus unmatched
“fishability”—that intangible asset describing
the distinctive Lund fishing experience.
Beyond expanded hulls and spacious
interiors, the re-engineered Pro Guides also
boast extra premium rod storage, enhanced
Pro Command Consoles and greater max
horsepower ratings. The 1875 Pro Guide, for
example, features a giant center rod locker
that safeguards up to ten rods -- of up to 8-feet
in length each -- in two separate well-spaced
rows. An additional Pro Series Side Locker at the
driver’s fingertips has a double-hinged door for
easy access, and stows three more rods of up to
9-feet in length, and an additional two rods of
up to 8-feet, 6-inches each. The 1775 and 2075
Pro Guide also offer expanded rod storage, each
capable of comfortably housing at least 15 rod
and reel combos, from 7-feetto nearly 10-feet
in length. (Check www.lundboats.com for full
specifications on each model).
Greeting all Pro Guide captains is an ergoengineered Pro Command Console, positioning
all critical system controls, gauges and angling
accessories at their fingertips. Integrated
Split Drawer Storage, plus a compartment
for up to eight, 3,600-size tackle trays (1875
and 2075), easily fits all your important
lures, tools and devices. An elite electronics
platform provides mounting space for two
widescreen sonar units and folds down and
into a lockable compartment when not in
use. An optional premium music system, vital
gauges and a 12 volt power receptacle for
running and recharging portable devices are
also strategically positioned for success.
The Pro Command Console even includes
a built-in Bait Cooler (1775), while an aerated
baitwell lies within arm’s reach. Each model has
two large livewells, and the 1875 and 2075 have
Lund’s patented ProLong Plus aeration system.
There’s even and an optional Above Deck Bow
Baitwell for pro level convenience.
With maxed out motor capacities up to
200-HP, the 1775, 1875 and 2075 Pro Guides run
at higher top speeds than competing brands.
Moreover, Lund’s trademark IPS and IPS2 hulls
provide the smoothest, driest, safest ride you’ve
ever experienced.
“The Pro Guide’s wide open layout and
new Pro Command Console are a perfect fit for
the way I fish,” adds Roach. “The big tiller is a
dream. And boat control is as good as it gets. This
truly is the finest tiller fishing boat ever made.”

Lund Boats
Newly engineered Lund Boat
makes a truly positive “Impact”
The versatile and affordable 1850 Impact XS
expands on the popular boat series.
When Lund introduced the Impact boat series
at the end of 2010, even the engineers of
this fully loaded, yet amazingly affordable, rig
couldn’t have predicted its popularity, nor the
appropriateness of its name. The first of eight
new Lund models for 2015, the new 1850
Impact XS is engineered at 18 feet, 7 inches in
length with an ultra-broad 94-inch beam, and
combines hardcore fishing elements with plenty
of features to please the entire family.
“The combination of serious fishing and
family-friendly features make the 1850 Impact
XS the ultimate boat for any hardcore angler
who also has a watersports loving family,” says
Lund Boats Product Manager, Dan Anonen.
When asked why Lund has the XS in the name,
Anonen states, “The XS stands for Extra Sport,
so not only do we offer all the great fishing
features that come standard in a Lund, but we’ve
designed even more family fun features, like the
ski pylon, specifically into these models.” When
asked about the price he says, “When folks
examine the Impacts in the showroom and on
the water, people are pleasantly surprised they
can get this much boat for such an affordable
price. That was precisely our intent in designing
and building this series.”
Impact 1850XS
Taking center stage of this versatile rig is a
spacious, functional fishing bow. The large
casting deck conceals a massive 10-rod center
locker that’s easy to access — all translating
to better organization and protection of your
valuable equipment, more casts and more
fish in the boat. Also below the bow is a 27inch livewell and two massive in-deck storage
compartments. Everything from crankbaits, to
PFDs and raingear, to Roach Rigs fit easily within,
leaving the deck clean and clear for casting and
fighting fish. There’s even an optional bow bait
well to keep your bait lively and easily within
your fingertip reach.
Moving to the cockpit area, the 1850
Impact XS is strategically designed with more
space and maximized seating for the entire
family. There’s plenty of room to comfortably
seat six passengers with bases for four standard
swivel seats, plus two newly integrated aft Jump
Seats. The newly designed Jump Seats offer
comfortable, higher backrests and are easily
deployed with one hand. They conveniently
flip up for seating, or fold down to allow for
an extended fishing or recreational platform
in the rear. There’s also port side rod storage
for three additional rods of up to 8 feet as well
as on-the-go rod tubes to keep your frequently
used combos within easy reach. In addition,
the side storage compartments can be used for
water skis, additional rods, measuring stick, or
other whatever else you may need to store.
Moving astern, there’s a built-in, 4-step
boarding ladder and an optional Integrated rear
Ski Pole along with a second 39-inch, 24-gallon
aerated divided livewell that fits perfectly
between the two aft Jump Seats. And as value
added accoutrements exclusive to all Lund
Boats, there are the standard ProTrak™ Boat
Cover System and SportTrak™ System for easily
mounting rod holders, tool pouches, bumper
hanger straps and other accessories without
drilling a single hole.
“No other fishing boat on the market
today offers such a versatile range of features or
functions,” Anonen affirms. “The Impact series
BX Jointed Minnow
has been one of the most popular, affordable
boat lines we’ve ever built. And in our 67-year
history, with literally thousands of Lunds on the
water, that’s saying something.”
Lund Boats
Lund engineers new standard in
big water fishing boats
Versatility, luxury and expansive floor plan
highlight the bold new 2275 Baron
New for the 2015 fishing season, Lund Boats
unveils the new 2275 Baron—the legendary
boat company’s ultimate big water ride just got
even better. Among a line-up of eight newly
engineered Lund models, the well-appointed
2275 Baron measures precisely 22 feet, 9 inches
in length, and boasts an expansive 102-inch
beam—literally enough legroom to comfortably
carry a starting football line-up, plus the coach.
For over two decades, this luxurious
liner has instilled its captains with supreme
confidence on North America’s largest waters.
Simultaneously, the Lund Baron has gifted
its passengers with a safe, smooth ride, plus
the finest fishing experiences of their lives.
Moreover, the new 2275 Baron offers versatility
in abundance.
The dual-purpose bow instantly converts
from a decked-out fishing platform to a comfy
bow rider seating area for four, which includes
a quick-access drink cooler. In the cockpit area
there are three rows of two seat bases, plus two
flip-up seats in the rear for even more capacity.
Bow-to-stern, the spacious Baron offers an
amazing 12-person capacity.
While imagining such spacious comfort is as easy
as stepping aboard, it’s the less visible intricacies
that speak volumes of this new model. The 2275
Baron has enhanced rod storage with a center
locker for five – 9-foot rods and five 8-foot,
6-inch rods, all stowed securely and out of the
way. There’s also a port rod locker that houses
rods up to 10 feet in length. Add in the increased
bow and side storage, two waterproof storage
containers and the oversized aerated 38-inch,
24-gallon aft livewell and you have the ultimate
big water fishing boat.
Much more than just a masterful fishing
boat, the 2275 Baron also offers key engineering
traits that allow for seamless, functional
conversion into a family-friendly watersport rig.
There’s an integrated 4-Step Boarding Ladder to
provide safe and easy entry, an Integrated Canvas
Top Hider, room for a wakeboard and skis, and
also an integrated Rear Ski Pylon option.
While obvious on-board luxury abounds,
it’s perhaps Lund’s patented hull construction
that matters most. “The new 2275 Baron boasts
the best big water aluminum hull ever built,”
says Rory Wiebe, Lund Boats product manager.
“We use 5052 H 34 Aluminum. This amazing hull
material provides the perfect balance between
strength, weight, hardness and flexibility. The
Baron’s IPS2 hull is designed to deliver clean
water to the motor, provide fantastic cornering
and control, and our patented power strakes
and rails funnel water down and away to keep
you dry.”
“We’re exceedingly proud of the new 2275
Baron. It delivers a luxurious big water ride that
every angler deserves to experience.”

Custom Jigs & spins
Debunked: Fishing’s Biggest
Sub-Surface Secret Revealed
Custom Jigs & Spins adds a dozen radiant
color combos to ever-popular Pro Series
Slender Spoon line
Gold Happy Hooker
A UFO crashed in the desert of New Mexico in
1947, you say? No way! There’s a “monster”
swimming below the surface Loch Ness in
Scotland? I don’t believe it! Lure color’s not of
any importance when it comes to catching more
fish? Say it isn’t so!
Well, okay... The latter isn’t so.
For decades, mankind has been attempting to
debunk some of life’s strangest phenomena.
Some, like whether creatures from above or
below are real or not, may never be solved.
Others, like whether a fish reacts to bait color, on
the other hand, can be proven.
Okay, okay... We know some of you scoff at
the importance of lure color. Overall, the opinion
is it’s the size, shape and action of an offering—in
that order—that elicits strikes, long before color.
But rummage through the tackle totes of
any career angler and you’ll find countless shades
of favorite, go-to baits. These sticks will tell you
that on those days when one lure out-produces all
others, fine-tuning the bite eventually boils down
to switching colors until the right one is tied on.
The fish-heads at Custom Jigs & Spins
get it … and have introduced 12 new color
combinations to their ever-popular Pro Series
Slender Spoons.
As for you naysayers still preaching
the size, shape and action over color sermon,
ponder this: The Pro Series Slender Spoon
now comes in four sizes at 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 and
5/16 ounce, and a proven fish-catching shape
designed to give the lure a flutter-like-no-other
action. And there you have it.
Muffin, Smelt, Alewife and Fruity Vegetables, for a variation of 12
between a silver and gold base … and 28 color combinations total
when united with the other already-proven painted Pro Series
Slender Spoon patterns. Like the rest of the lure family, the new
additions come rigged with a high-quality split ring and perfectly
size-matched stick-sharp treble hook.
Color not of importance when it comes to catching fish?
Debunked! And the secret to fish-catching success is to have plenty
of Pros Series Slender Spoons on hand. As for the creatures that
might appear in the night sky or occasionally take a peek above a
lake’s surface, well, we’ll leave those unsolved mysteries for you
to expose.

Custom Jigs & Spins’ new Pro Finesse Drop
Chain dynamite when added to any jigging
spoon – Anglers thunderstruck
Fish. You see plenty on your sonar. They’ve been wallowing up
and eyeing your jigging spoon all day. But without even as much
as a sniff, every one turned tail and swam off. Something’s just not
right. The bite, well, bites today. And that ain’t no fun.
It’s a long way to the top, but you reel in and add a soft
plastic to the hook. Nothing. Next you nip on live bait. Zilch.
Obviously, it’s not an anything goes kind of day on the water. Your
dream of limiting out has just been shot down in flames.
Or has it?
“There are so many reasons one shade may
out-fish another on any given day,” says Walt
Matan, lure designer and self-proclaimed
janitor for Custom Jigs & Spins. “Water clarity, a
fresh hatch of baitfish or insects, and even highpressured fish in a popular waterway that have
seen just about every lure a tackle box can hold,
can be the culprits, just to name a few.
“And seems the only color that ever
works when you’re fishing is the one you don’t
have with you.”
New for the 2015 ice-fishing season are six
color patterns painstakingly hand painted onto
both silver and gold Pro Series Slender Spoons,
including Happy Hooker, Purple Decent, Gold
You reach into your tackle tote and grab a package of Custom Jigs &
Spins’ new Pro FinesseDrop Chains and pick out your favorite color
from the 4-pack. “Snap!” The whole rig attaches to the split ring in
seconds. No tying knots with cold, numb fumble fingers. Nice!
With a lively minnow pinned through its lips to the
dropper’s treble, you let your offering go down until it’s in the
strike zone. While the lure sits motionless, the bait slowly settles
yet waggles freely.
Again, your sonar shows your offering’s been noticed. One
light lift and drop of the rod tip and the bait trails the spoon as
it rises, and then wafts back towards the lake’s floor. “Wham!”
What was once a problem child fish is no longer trouble for you.
Yep, fooling finicky fish into striking are exactly why Custom
Jigs & Spins created the Pro Finesse Drop Chain. And they’re more
than just a mere hook dangling from a line.

“For years we’ve been hearing about anglers
using our spoons, like the Pro Slender Spoon
and Wolf’s One Eyed Shiner, removing the hooks
and tying on a ‘dropper’,” says Custom Jigs &
Spins President Bob Gillispie. “So we thought
we’d step up to the plate and give those anglers
what they want – a first-rate rig but with added
features that make them much simpler to use,
and, that attracts more fish.”
For starters, a brilliantly-colored hardas-a-rock big “ball” of epoxy is molded to the
middle of each super-sharp treble hook; the
package coming with one each of four eyecatching shade of fluorescent orange, orange/
chartreuse, as well glow and glow/red for night

for even more added flash and flare.

Versatile Fin-Wing affirmed as
a predator fish’s worst worry
under the ice
Both sizes (10 and 14) of Pro Finesse Drop Chains
come complete with just the right amount of hightest, thin-diameter chain that allows your bait to
swim freely, yet without swimming too far from
your spoon and out of the strike zone. A quicksnap clip provides easy on, easy off functionality
on any spoon or jig. And the suggested retail price
of only $4.99 for the 4-pack will keep anglers
wallets back in the black.
For those about to fish the Finesse Dropped
Chain when fish get finicky, we salute you.
Contrary to popular
belief, predator fish
are not always the
unwavering marauders anglers make them to be.
A brisk barometric crash or climb, intense-fishingpressure or misjudged moon phase can take their
toll on of the moods of even the most ferocious fish.
Overall, when the bite for big fish, well,
bites, it takes something extraordinary to grab
their attention and reinvigorate that killer instinct.
If only there was a lure with the superlative
flash to grab the attention of fish from afar along
and an erratic wide-wafting stroke that accurately
emulates sizable and frantic forage...
Allow us to re-introduce Keweenaw Tackle
Company’s Fin-Wing – a uniquely-shaped spoon
that produces bursts of brightness from every
angle as it literally “swims” towards the surface
with every lift of your rod tip, and then flutterers
enthusiastically on the fall.
Ice anglers targeting big predator fish – pike,
walleyes, muskies and lake trout – often find
that large sweeping jigging motions with a
Fin-Wing garner the most attention, either
fished alongside structure like weeds, wood
or rock, or out in the open of a main-lake
basin. But once a beast is spied on sonar, a less
aggressive rise-and-fall action is the typical
call-of-duty. Sometimes, nothing more than
the nervousness produced by shaking the rod
tip will convert a follow into a strike.
The Fin-Wing keeps its tantalizing
subsurface path whether it’s fished naked,
tipped with a lively minnow or soft plastic
bait. Even heavy-duty fluorocarbon leaders of
20-pound test won’t impede the lure’s action.
The dramatic Fin-Wing is available
in 1/4, 3/4 and 1 ounce sizes. There are a
dozen classic colors to choose from, 10 with
translucent hues, and all tinted with UV paint
for every degree of water clarity.
Swim. Flutter. Flicker and flash. The FinWing generates it all, including aggressive strikes
from the biggest predators under the ice.
The BaitBall® series was introduced at ICAST
2013 as a new concept to the fishing tackle
trade. The concept was simple. “Last year we
introduced BaitBall® to the market,” claims
visionary Grant Koppers. “At the time, we
announced that our concept was more than
just a one-time pattern, our vision extends into
a whole new category,” continues Koppers. The
introduction of a ‘juvenile’ sized Threadfin Shad,
Emerald Shiner and Glass Minnow in 2013 was
an immediate success and garnered top honors
with a Best of Show award in the Hard Lure
category at ICAST.
THE EVOLUTION CONTINUES
Fast-forward to ICAST 2014, as LIVETARGET
prepares to launch the second wave of BaitBall®
products: The NEW Yearling™ BaitBall. This new
product series is a concept developed around
nature’s own baitfish hatchery. Young-of-theyear hatchling baitfish often become the core
of the underwater food chain. The stats are
simple. Fish lay thousands of eggs, but very few
survive to adulthood. Lead lure designer Tobias
Weigand states, “When all fish hatch from an
egg, they’re tiny in mass. Hatchlings; such as
alevin and fry, are generally eaten by very small
fish and other baitfish. However, when they
become yearlings, they are large enough to
be foraged upon by game fish.” It is these year
old baitfish that make up the new Yearling™
BaitBall. Weigand continues, “We know that
game fish eat yearlings but we’ve never been
able to match the hatch before unless we use
a tiny lure.” Clustering yearlings into a BaitBall®
configuration creates a natural presentation in a
tool that is large enough to cast with adequate
hooks to target larger game fish.
The new Yearling™ BaitBall series brings
forth some of the most life-like lure patterns
ever created using the intricate LIVETARGET
design elements for baitfish anatomy and
color patterns. It is further testimony to the
LIVETARGET creed to Match-the-Hatch ™.

Lake Clear
The
Lake
Clear
Wabbler has always
been an angler
favourite for trout for close to 100 years. Best
worked slowly, followed by a trailing hook and
a worm or minnow where permitted or a fly.
The Lake Clear brand had been in short supply
in the past couple of years. Having acquired the
company in the spring of 2014 Brecks is now
producing the Lake Clear in our facilities, where
the; Williams, Mooselook and Savant lures are
also produced. Renowned for their genuine
silver and 24 carat gold finishes that do not
tarnish, Lake Clear will now have these same
precious metal finishes applied. An outer coat
is also plated and baked in an oven to protect
these finishes. It does not yellow with age.
Wisconsin
Terry
started to tinker
with his collection of
Mepps spinners. He took a couple apart, added
a stinger hook to a dressed streamer front hook
and put them to the test the next day. They
worked like a charm, he had something here. A
year later with many final touches to get it just
right Mepps launched the finished product.
It incorporates a number of additional
attributes that make this new lure so effective.
• The stinger hook is attached using flexible
braided stainless steel leader. Stainless wire is
much more resistant than mono and offers a
stronger lb. test in a small diameter.
• The trailer treble hook is attached using
a loop system. This allows for easy changes of
the back treble if a tine is broken or a larger,
smaller or other style of hook is preferred.
behind a bottom bouncer at slow speeds
for walleye. Without the floating body to
give it some lift, it would be dropping down
on turns or pauses and getting snagged. It
has just the right amount of buoyancy to
help keep the lure suspended.
• The blade is a genuine Mepps
Aglia blade which has proven itself for
75 years. It emits a thump and vibration
that is unequaled to call fish in. The
blade is attached to the Trolling rig using
a stainless steel spiral wound clevis that
allows for quick and easy blade changes.
Walleye anglers know that walleye colour
preferences can change daily or even
hourly. The ease of mixing and matching
blade and tail colours in a minute allows
the angler to change up their presentations
to match the colour preferences of the
day or particular body of water. This new
lure has a lot of thought and on the water
testing under its belt.
Offered in 2 blade sizes, #3 and
the larger #5. 6 blade and tail colour
combinations. All offered in both the
bucktail & tinsel versions.
MEPPS COMET & SYCLOPS
NEW COLOURS
New finishes were introduced in season for
2014 to compliment the ever popular classic
½ & ½ finishes. New Nuwrinkle (hammered) ½
and ½ finishes, new painted patterns and new
glow patterns as well. The Wabbler is offered
in the larger LCW1 (3-1/8” x 1-1/2”) 1/3 oz.,
the narrower and slightly smaller LCW3 (3”
x 1-1/8”) ¼ oz. and the smallest LCW5 (2” x
1”) 1/6 oz. A series of smaller 12 inch long,
3 blade gang trolls round out the Lake Clear
assortment. These are also angler favourites
used as attractors when more flash and
vibration are the order of the day.
• The dressing on the top single hook is bucktail
or tinsel. Bucktail has a muted natural action;
tinsel is flashier, when you want to get their
attention. It “lights up” when it hits the water.
• The dressed tail section is attached to the
main body using a stainless steel split ring to
allow for changes of the tail section.
• The spinner body is a floating body to give
the bait buoyancy which is very important. This
style of bait is often pulled

EXPERIENCE G.
LOOMIS WITH NEW
E6X ROD SERIES
30 RODS IN BOTH TECHNIQUE
SPECIFIC AND CLASSIC ACTIONS
New for the 2015 Tackle Year
Designed around a
performance platform
with a focus on weight,
balance,
sensitivity
and action, anglers of
all levels can experience what G. Loomis is all
about with the new E6X rods series, soon to be
available for spring ’15 fishing action. The series
includes 30 casting and spinning rods, offered
in both technique specific models with exacting
actions, and ‘Classic’ models with easy to cast,
more forgiving actions for use with a variety of
lures.
The new E6X rod series introduces anglers
to what G. Loomis rod designers refer to a
‘swing-weight’, the proper rod balance needed
when fishing ‘tip up’ techniques like pitching/
flipping and casting tubes, jigs, soft plastic
jerkbaits and drop shot rigs, and ‘tip down’
lures like crankbaits, spinnerbaits or swimbaits.
“Proper balance lets anglers concentrate on
what is happening on the end of the line, rather
than the tip of the rod,” said G. Loomis’ Bruce
Holt. “With the E6X series and the G. Loomis’
Multi-Taper Technology behind them, we can
provide light, sensitive, yet powerful rods for
both all types of bass fishing techniques and
inshore saltwater opportunities – what anglers
know and come to expect form G. Loomis and
all at a very comfortable price.”
There are 12 E6X technique specific
casting rods designed for jig & worm use,
for flipping and punching, crankbait and
spinnerbait specific, along with four technique
specific spinning models for small jigs, tubes
and worms, plus two drop shot spinning rods.
Holt notes that both the casting and spinning jig
& worm rods have the needed extra-fast tips,
the crankbait rods have the needed slower,
softer actions, while stiff, powerful actions are
found on the flip/punch rods and unique actions
are featured on the spinnerbait, swimbait and
drop shot rods. The entire technique specific
rods feature split grip handles with cork grips,
along with Fuji reels seats and guides.
E6X 845 CBR
E6X 894C JWR
The 12 Classic multi-purpose E6X
models include six ‘Mag Bass’ and
flipping action casting rods, and
six spin jig spinning rods. They all
feature fast tapers with powerful
but-sections, load easily for casting
accuracy. All the E6X Classic rods
come with full cork grips, Fuji guides
and Fuji exposed blank trigger reels
seats.
“Offering both performance
and value, just about all anglers can
experience what G. Loomis rods
are all about,” said Holt. “The rods
really become an natural extension
of you, providing the fish-catching
fingertip sensitivity that anglers who
know expect from G. Loomis rods.
And while we have a focus on bass
fishing and inshore saltwater action
for species like redfish and sea trout,
anglers will discover E6X rods that
have great actions and lengths for
walleye, northern pike, stripers and
trout and panfish situations.”
As with all G. Loomis rods,
the new E6X rods are handcrafted
in Woodland, Washington USA. For

Rod & Reel Combos
Satisfy an In-Demand
Category
Rippin Lips’ SuperCat® Combos
offer catfish folks top-notch
traits at nice prices
You’ve got your bass rods;
your crappie rods; your
trout and salmon rods.
Even walleyes and muskies
garner multiple models. Strange then that
the third most popular freshwater fish on
the continent—the catfish—continues to be
under-tackled with also-ran rods and rickety
old reels that scarcely get the job done.
Not only have the catfish-friendly folks
at Rippin Lips remedied the situation, they’ve
done North America’s 7-million whisker
seekers a big favor, narrowing the search for
the perfect catfish combo. The new SuperCat®
Series arms catfish specialists with expertly
designed rod and reel combos they can be
confident, comfortable and proud to fish.
E6X - full cork casting Rod
SuperCat spinning reels features 5 stainless ball bearings, brass gears
and a graphite rotor—all housed within a graphite frame, handle and
high-capacity aluminum spool.
E6X - split grip casting rod
“These SuperCat Combos are the type of
trustworthy tool that are equally at home
inside the johnboat, in the back of a pickup,
or resting on a forked stick,” says legendary
catfish angler John Jamison. “Count on years of
trustworthy service, too, like that old sidekick
of a retriever that never lets you down.”
In search of a quality rod-blank at an affordable
price, Rippin Lips discovered S-glass, a
remarkable material that’s both stronger and
lighter than its more commonly used E-glass
counterpart. Another key distinction: widely
used E-glass was originally designed for nonangling applications, such as dentistry (ouch),
while S-glass has been developed expressly
for fishing rods. Likewise, S-glass offers nearly
twice the modulus of E-glass, resulting in the
optimal blend of blank strength, smoothness
and sensitivity. (If you thought S-glass was
tough, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.)
Likewise with quality, smoothness and
durability, each SuperCat spinning reel features
5 stainless ball bearings, brass gears and a
graphite rotor—all housed within a graphite
frame, handle and high-capacity aluminum
spool. Operating with an efficient 4.1:1 gear
ratio, all SuperCat reels come pre-loaded with
300 yards of premium monofilament (20- or
25-pound test, depending on model/action.)
“Fishing a SuperCat Combo just feels
natural,” says Jamison. “We designed them that
way—to give anglers the best performing, high
quality rods and reels at a truly affordable price.
It’s the type of outfit you’ll own and fish for many,
many years. And SuperCat Combos are versatile
enough to land a pile of channel catfish from a
pond or good sized blue cats from a river.”
Beyond earning Jamison’s “catfish tough”
seal of approval, SuperCat rods also sport
some sweet little extras. Counter-balanced EVA
handles allow for rocket-launching casts plus
extra leverage and power for setting hooks and
a comfortable under-arm fit. Premium glow
tips aid low light bite detection, with each rod
featuring 8 premium guides plus tip.
Premium glow tips aid low light bite detection.
Offered in three length/power models, SuperCat
Combos include a 7-foot 6-inch Medium, 7-foot
6-inch Medium-Heavy and an 8-foot Heavy
power. A 6000-size SuperCat spinning reel
outfits Medium and Medium-Heavy rods, while
a SuperCat 8000 matches the Heavy rod model.
Attractively priced at $79.99 to $89.99 each,
all SuperCat Combos come with a full one-year
manufacturer’s warranty.
“Finally, catfish folks can proudly own and
fish with high quality, affordable rod and reel
combos designed specifically for their favorite
species. Seven million catfish anglers must be
on to something.”

NEW CRUCIAL RODS
NEW DESIGN INCLUDES C4S-HM
BLANKS, GRIP OPTIONS
Newly designed
with Shimano’s
C4S-HM blank construction – lighter and
providing anglers both stronger hook-up and
hang down strength, the Crucial rod series –
21 casting models, 17 spinning - are offered
in popular powers and actions for across the
board fishing action.
Shimano’s next generation C4S-HM blank
construction uses high modulus carbon in a
four layer process, along with slit carbon tape
– both an inner and outer wrap of carbon tape
is layered over two layers of carbon pre-preg.
“With this process, we able to reduce blank
twist, especially when casting heavier lures,”
said Shimano rod product manager Robby
Gant. “C4S-HM rod blanks with maximum
pulling power and strength without sacrificing
sensitivity, plus with less blank twist, the
process contributes to exceptional long and
accurate casts.”
A key feature to the Crucial rods is the
grip choice. “Depending on personal
preference, anglers can select from
either full grip cork or split grip cork
rear grips,” Gant said, “ plus all models
feature Fuji Alconite black frame guides
and Custom Shimano reel seats.”
The 21 Crucial casting rods are
available in sizes from 6’8” to 7’11” –
the 6’8”, 6’10’ and 7’3” rods are offered
in both full grip cork or split cork models
– the 7’, 7’6”, 7’9” and 7’11” rods feature
full grip cork. On the spinning side, there
are one-piece 6’6” and 7’ rods offered
in both full grip and split grip cork, 6’8”
and 7’2” rods with split grips. There’s
also a line-up of 2-piece spinning rods –
6’6’, 6’8” and 7’2” available in either full
grip or split grip cork.
“It’s the ideal rod series for serious
fishing action, and with the grip options
on both the cast and spin models, plus
two-pieces spinning rods that a good
number of anglers prefer, we’re offering
the right fishing tools for a broad range
of fishing situations,” notes Gant.

WITH NEW ZODIAS BASS RODS
FROM SHIMANO
Versatile performance
is the concept behind
Shimano’s new Zodias rods series, an 11-model
line-up designed in actions and lengths for
accuracy when needed, long distance when
needed, or when finesse techniques are need.
The series – developed by Shimano and built by
Shimano - includes six casting models in 6’10”
and 7’2” lengths, and six spinning models in
6’8” and 7’ lengths.
“With the Zodias rods, we can provide
anglers with one rod designed to perform
as needed with all types of lures – be it
worms, jigs, deep-diving or lipless crankbaits,
spinnerbaits and jerkbaits,” said Robby Gant
with Shimano’s rod development team. “While
certain models will offer a higher level of
performance depending on the technique, you
can fish with confidence that your Zodias rod
can fish any style at any time.”

All the Zodias rod blanks feature Hi-Power
X construction, eliminating blank twist for
both better casting distance and accuracy. HiPower X is a unique process to support the
lightweight blanks, with carbon tape added in
a 45-dgreee ‘X’ pattern on the outside of the
blank. Gant explains the tape process provides
what is called ‘torsional rigidity’ to keep the
blank from twisting during the cast – and with
it, more distance and a more accurate lure
presentation.
Anglers gain further advantages with the
sensitivity and strength of the lightweight CI4+
material reel seat, plus lightweight semi-micro
guides. “These Fuji Alconite K semi-micro
guides, with stainless steel frames as light as
titanium allow us to provide the best balance
so we can keep the rods light while still giving
anglers extra casting distance,” Gant said.

SHIMANO-JACKALL
DESIGNED POISON
ADRENA RODS
INTRODUCE SPIRAL X
CONSTRUCTION, CARBON
MONOCOQUE TO ANGLERS
Relying on input
from the bass
fishing expert at Jackall Lures, Shimano offers
the Shimano/Jackall Poison Adrena bass rods.
Featuring Spiral X blank construction, the 12rod series is offered 10 casting and two spinning
models – including a further expansion
of the series with two new 6’10” rods
for versatile use, a glass composite
6’10” rod for crankbaits, and a 7-footer
for swimbaits and bigger lures.
With the Spiral X construction
process, Shimano Infinity Carbon Tape
is rolled on the inside and outside of
the Poison Adrena rod blanks, running
in different direction without any
gaps. “This provide exceptional blank
reinforcement while allowing us the
design thin wall, extremely lightweight
and sensitive blank,” said Robby
Gant, fishing rod product manager for
Shimano. “Technically we reinforce
torsional and compression rigidity so
the rod rejects ovalization. For bass
anglers, this means the Poison Adrena
rods offer all kinds of strength and lifting
power, plus you’ll notice better casting
accuracy and longer casts – all bonus
situations to hook into that kicker bass.”
Further contributing to overall
light rod weight, Shimano features a
CI4 material reel seat – also increasing
sensitivity from the rod through the
real seat to the angler’s hand. An
exclusive ‘Carbon Monocoque’ butt
section design eliminates components
to further enhance the lightweight feel
and rod sensitivity.
Along with the 6’10” versatile use and
crankbait rods, and the 7’ swimbait/
big bait rod, the Poison Adrena line-up
also includes six more casting rods from
6’6” to 7’6” lengths. There are specific
models for worm/jig and Texas rig
use, and to properly work crankbaits,
jerkbaits, lipless crankbaits like the
Jackall TN 60 and 70, swimbaits and
spinnnerbaits. There are also two light
and medium light power 6’6” spinning
rods optimally design for use with
Jackall iProp spybaits, and will also work
well for worm/jig and jerkbait use.

Bringing the Rare
to Reality
St. Croix designs a duo of
exceptional 2-piece casting
models to their line of
LegendXtreme
Gadolinium. Dysprosium.
Samarium. Yttrium. Four
precious metals found here and scattered
there throughout the world... These and a
scanty handful of other building blocks of the
periodic table are found so sparingly they have
been given status of “rare earth elements”.
To the untrained eye, these scarce
nuggets might look like any other crammed
in a hunk of rock. But they are so uncommon
that they play vastly important roles in the big
scheme of things. In the hands of the right
person, rare earth elements are worth much
more than their weight when compared to a
popular counterpart – gold.
Putting something similarly rare in one’s
hands is often what it takes to get them to
realize the greatness of it. Take, for example,
St. Croix’s top-of-the-line rod series, Legend
Xtreme. Not your typical fishin’ sticks. And to
the delight of X devotees, two new models
have been created for 2015, so rare they’re the
only ones like ‘em on Earth.
And like the rarest of elements, they play
a cosmic role when placed in the hands of the
most discriminating angler.
“It all started with a request for 7’ highperformance, two-piece casting rods from
customers in Russia,” said Jeff Schluter, vice
president of brand management at St. Croix
Rod. “At the time you couldn’t find a high-end
casting rod that broke down. But we listened
and fulfilled that missing link. These are great
rods for anglers on the go that demand using
only the highest-of-quality rods.”
Today, two innovative 7-foot,
2-piece, fast-action Legend
Xtreme casting rods (models
LXC70MF2 for 10- to 17-pound
test and 1/4 to 5/8-ounce
lures and LXC70MHF2 for 12to 20-pound test and 3/8- to
1-ounce lures) with medium and
medium-heavy power ratings,
respectfully, are offered. And
like all Legend Xtreme rods, they
are built with blanks utilizing
St. Croix’s Fortified Resin
System (FRS), which combines
a proprietary fortified super
resin with computer-operated
curing ovens that provide
improved temperature and time
management through all stages
of the curing cycle. This keeps
the carbon fibers in proper
alignment for 33% greater
strength than blanks built with
standard resins and curing
methods, which subsequently
prevents microbuckling.
Every Legend Xtreme blank
is patterned using St. Croix’s
innovative Taper Enhancement
Technology (TET) that begins
with precision-cut, curved blank
patterns made possible by a
state-of-the-art computerized pattern cutting
machine. When combined with Integrated
Poly Curve® (IPC®) engineered mandrels, these
unique patterns create blanks with better actions
and improved sensitivity.
All LegendXtreme blanks are built from
high-modulus/high-strain SCV graphite with
carbon-matte scrim for unparalleled strength,
durability and sensitivity. Plus, the super-highmodulus SCVI graphite in the lower section
allows for maximum power yet reduced weight
where it matters. Finally, Advanced Reinforcing
Technology™ (ART™) provides additional “hidden
strength” at key stress points, including the slimprofile ferrules on 2-piece models.
“And it’s the slim-profile ferrule that’s the
key to any multiple-piece Legend Xtreme rod,
giving it the feel of a one-piece,” added Schluter.
“Because of ART, we could take the area most
subject to failure and underperformance and
create a ferrule that is pliable, resists crushing,
and yet has a thin wall. It gives any rod with this
technology a uniform flex where there would
commonly be a flat spot in the arc.”
Add to all this, St. Croix’s exclusive XtremeSkin handle, which offers outstanding comfort,
sensitivity and improved durability, and a
lightweight Fuji® SK2™ split reel seat that delivers
even more sensitivity.
And all Legend Xtremes are fitted with
Fuji® K-R Concept Tangle Free guides with SiC
rings and exclusive E-color finish frames, ideal for
monofilament, fluorocarbon and superline alike.
And their sloped frames and rings get rid of line
tangles before they can be formed. All thread
wraps are protected by two coats of Flex Coat
slow-cure finish.
The entire Legend Xtreme family is
designed and handcrafted in Park Falls, Wisconsin,
and protected by a lifetime limited warranty
backed by St. Croix Superstar Service, and come
with protective rod sacks. Retail is $440 for the
new Legend Xtreme 2-piece casting rods.
St. Croix, makers of the “Best Rods on

to finding the perfect rod for the Xtreme angler.
The Avid Angler’s
Wonder Rod
St. Croix’s Avid X earns seasoned
veteran status in the year of its
birth.
By the time he was 4 years
old, chess prodigy Samual
Reshevsky was making the ultimate checkmate
commonplace; a few short years later he was
defeating even the most accomplished players
with ease. Then there was Wolfgang Amadeus
Mozart who, also by age 4, was considered one of
the most prolific music composers of the Classical
Era. And then who could forget Pablo Picasso
who, you guessed it, was a 4-year-old when he
brushed his first masterpiece: Le picador. Satirically, one must wonder: What took
these kids so long to get noticed?
Fishing has its own prodigy children, too.
Every now and then, a brainchild prototype
leaves the minds and machines of its creators
graced with the predetermination to become a
quick legend. Said phenomenon happened to
St. Croix Rod.
A mere five-and-one-half months after its
introduction at ICAST in July of 2014, the Avid
X series was set free to stock St. Croix’s elite
dealer base. Within mere weeks of delivery,
many of the most ardent-anglers owned and
were already praising Avid X.
Seven months after its debut, Avid X
casting models garnered top rod honors in
Field & Stream’s Best of the Best: New Fishing
Gear 2015 – an honor parallel to a truck being
recognized by Motor Trend.
Piling it on in a good sort of way, Game & Fish
Publication/Sportsmen Magazine’s Readers’
Choice Award went to St. Croix Rod’s Avid X for
“Favorite Spinning Rod.”
The editors have spoken, and so have the
anglers.
So what makes the Avid X so perfect to
palm and cast, as well as gobble up votes like
a Republican candidate in Texas? Technology,
craftsmanship and knowhow. Every Avid
X spinning and casting rod is a groundbreaking version of the company’s everpopular Avid Series, sharing the same core
blank technology. This means it’s built on a
premium, featherweight, high-modulus SCIII
graphite blank with Integrated Poly Curve®
tooling technology, which offers smooth-action
alongside incredible sensitivity and strength.
A Fuji® reel seat with gunsmoke hood is
fitted to the blank, surrounded by lightweight,
all-new counterbalanced select-grade splitgrip cork handle. There’s even an innovative
hook-keeper to hold a bait of most any caliber,
all the while abolishing issues associated with
annoying line wrap.
As for the Kigan® Z micro-guide platform
offered? The Z guides with slim, aluminumoxide rings and reel-seat-matching gunsmoke
frames are designed to reduce weight while
maintaining proper stripper guide ring height
for optimal line flow. To boot, the guides are
skillfully wrapped with nylon thread and sealed
with two coats of Flex Coat slow-cure finish.
Designed and handcrafted in Park Falls,
Wisconsin, the new Avid X series melds the
utmost performance with unparalleled value,
in lengths, actions and powers built for extreme
bass and walleye anglers. The series features
18 one- and two-piece spinning and casting
models, with every 2-piece model sporting St.
Croix’s exclusive slim-profile ferrules. And all are
protected by a 15-year transferrable warranty
backed by St. Croix Superstar Service. Most Avid
X models retail at $200.
As the editors of Field & Stream put it: Best of
all, you get St. Croix quality at a sweet price.
st Call it the
“Cool Tool”
New Triumph X series backs its sporty,
confident looks with the performance
you expect from St. Croix
Even in fishing, style sells.
In a sport where product
performance should be the ultimate measure –
even the deciding factor in sealing the deal at
the cash register – looks do matter. Regrettably,
some rod makers prey on this premise by putting
“lipstick on the pig.”
Fortunately, there are proud, legacy
manufacturers like St. Croix Rod who embrace
the coolness factor while never succumbing
to cheapness. While visually alluring, even
radical in appearance, St. Croix’s new Triumph
X rod series owns its price-range in quality
and performance. But long before the vibrant,
airbrushed colors visually distinguish Triumph X
from surrounding rods on the rack, technology
and decades of advanced St. Croix engineering
underpin its stature.
Beneath the striking burnt-orange and
purplish-black façade is an SCII graphite blank
that begs to accompany a more expensive rod.
But at a hundred bucks, Triumph X is a triumph
in blank construction at such a reasonable price.
Component wise, the Triumph X
features an EVA split-grip handle
– again, a feat for the dollars.
Split-grip practitioners embrace
the progressive design’s balanced
casting, comfort and lessened
overall weight. Triumph X users
will appreciate said benefits,
which were once reserved for
more expensive rods.
Fuji® DPS or ECS reel seat
with black hood(s) complement
the blank cosmetics while
providing all-day casting comfort.
Hard aluminum-oxide guides
set in distinctive black frames
support casting distance while
holding up to the rigors of the
sport. And this while precisionwound thread-wraps are safely
situated beneath two coats of
Flex Coat slow-cure finish.
All 12 spinning and casting
rods in the Triumph X series
are cultured for outstanding
strength, sensitivity and hooksetting power. And amongst
those dozen members are select
rods for targeting bass, walleyes,
pike, panfish and whatever else
swims across your path.
Backed by a 5-year warranty
and St. Croix’s celebrated
Superstar Service, your affordably
priced Triumph X rod doubles as
a capital investment.
The Triumph X series is
designed and engineered in Park
Falls, Wisconsin, and handcrafted
in St. Croix’s advanced facility in
Fresnillo, Mexico. They retail for

Triumph X Casting Rod
St. Croix Reveals
Specialist
spinnerbait Rods
New Legend Tournament Bass “Sniper”
and “Sweeper” sticks complement two
trending blade tactics
Slow rollin’. Chunkin’ and
windin’. Grindin’. Bumpin’
the stump. Burnin’. Helicopterin’. There’s nearly
no wrong way to fish a spinnerbait—that old
classic bass lure responsible for tournament
wins and giant bucketmouths in the boat.
That said, pairing a sweet blade or a
chatterbait with a mismatched rod can feel
a little like playing a violin with a guitar pick.
Accordingly, eliminating the angst of marrying
technique and tool, the fishing rod prodigies at
St. Croix recently revealed two new specialist
sticks designed to make beautiful spinnerbait
music: behold the Sweeper Spinnerbait and
Sniper Spinnerbait, the newest rods in St. Croix’s
masterful Legend Tournament Bass series.
Surely the most thoroughly researched,
tested and exhaustively engineered spinnerbait/
chatterbait rods to date, the two customized
bass tools each perform a dedicated function.
“We realized right away that two of the hottest
spinnerbait techniques demanded distinctive
rod designs,” says Dan Johnston, St. Croix
regional account manager, and confirmed basssneak. “From continuous retailer feedback,
Randy Hamilton—St. Croix southeast regional
account manager—and I ultimately convinced
our design team to adopt the challenge. First
cast with these rods, we looked at each other
and knew we’d nailed it.”
At 6 feet 9 inches, Johnston says the
medium-heavy power, moderate-fast action
Sniper Spinnerbait rod (TBC69MHMF) gifts
anglers with the immediate ability to deliver
short, pinpoint-accurate casts to cover. “The
challenge in building the Sniper was that it
needed a very precise power for not only setting
hooks and wrenching fish from cover, but also
an exacting tip action for pitching baits into
small windows. If you create a tip that’s too fast
(stiff), you loose accuracy. But if it’s too slow
(loose), you sacrifice power and some of the
sensitivity.
“Very few spinnerbait-specific rods are
totally dialed in, because it’s technically difficult
to balance all the needs of the angler and the
technique and build a rod that delivers on every
front—from accuracy to strength to sensitivity.
Like the ability to feel the blades pulsing in your
hand, to detect when you’ve picked up a sliver
of grass, and to distinguish between bumping
a stump and a bass bum-rushing the bait from
behind.” Johnston adds that the Sniper also
doubles as a choice chatterbait stick.
Beyond pinpoint spinnerbait/chatterbait
presentations near cover, St. Croix developed
a second superior tool for fishing big blades in
open water for outsize smallmouth, largemouth
and spotted bass. The resulting 7-foot,
medium-heavy power Sweeper Spinnerbait rod
(TBC70MHMF) has proven itself for efficiently
working large spinnerbaits over rocky points
and ledges, picking up line quickly and setting
hooks at long distances. “The Sweeper is a
perfect Great Lakes smallmouth rod,” Johnston
affirms. “It’s big and bad enough to punch bullet
casts into a strong headwind. Yet it’s got a nice
feathery heft that won’t wear you out after a
full day of fishing.”
Johnston notes that to reduce tip weight
and enhance the balance, touch and
performance of both rods, St. Croix developed a
specialized guide train, including Fuji® K-Series
Concept Tangle Free guides with Alconite® rings
and frames. Also resulting from the expertly
balanced configuration is seamless, dynamic
line flow and exceptional presentations with
super braid, mono and fluorocarbon alike.
Like all 27 technique-specific rods in the
Legend Tournament Bass series, the Sniper and
Sweeper Spinnerbait rods are imbued with
numerous high-level St. Croix product patents:
select SCIV graphite blanks with a Fortified
Resin System (FRS) for superior strength and
durability; Integrated Poly Curve® (IPC) tooling
technology for unmatched smoothness and
sensitivity; Advanced Reinforcing Technology
(ART™) for industry-leading blank strength
to weight ratios. Moreover, the new Legend
Tournament Bass rods sport optimized splitgrips with super high-grade cork, facilitating
effortless cam-action casts. A limited lifetime
warranty backed by St. Croix Superstar Service
means these may be the last spinnerbait rods
you’ll ever buy.
“Spinnerbait fishing is alive and well,”
says Johnston. “Our customers have continually
asked for these rods, and St. Croix has delivered.
Think of them like your favorite golf club.
You want to take it out of your bag and use it
because it makes you look good; maybe even
helps you perform at levels you didn’t know you
were capable of.”
SHIMANO CALCUTTA
CONQUEST
BAITCASTING REELS
CREATED FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS
A longtime benchmark
round reel for cranking
and known for their durability, Shimano’s
Calcutta reels continue to be a favorite with
anglers looking to fish the best. A new flagship
round reel series is now part of the Shimano
line-up – the Calcutta Conquest reels –
combining innovative features with the Calcutta
timeless design. The series includes the Calcutta
CTCNQ-100 and 200, and the left-hand retrieve
CTCNQ-101 and 201.
More compact with Shimano’s ‘S
Compact Body Design’ and offering a higher
level of performance with features including
Micro Module Gear technology, SVS Infinity
and Shimano Stable Spool Design (S3D), the
Calcutta Conquest reels “are all about durability,
smooth rotation and rigidity,” said Robby Gant
with Shimano’s product development staff.
“We give anglers the best with a cold-forged
frame, S3D reduces spool vibration for better
casting performance and overall feel, plus we
use a larger diameter spool to help increase
casting distance.”
The Micro Module gear system takes
Shimano’s technology another step forward by
reducing the size, while increasing the number,
of gear teeth on the pinion and drive gear.
“While anglers know all about the smoothness
of Shimano reels, as the flagship round
baitcasting reel we take the Conquest to the
next level, all leading to not only exceptional
casting distance, but also exceptional power
and durability,” Gant said.
Shimano’s SVS Infinity brake system (also
found on Shimano’s flagship low-profile Antares
reels, along with the Metanium and Chronarch
CI4+ low-pro series) controls spool speed for
precision casting especially when using lighter
lures. An external adjustment knob provides
for quick, precise adjustments for either the
conditions or when you switch. Anglers will also
experience the advantages of X-Ship technology,
“where we the support the pinion gear on
both ends with bearings, leading to better gear
durability and also to help make long casts with
light lures,” explains Gant.
Knowing anglers expect long-time use
with Calcutta reels, Shimano also includes a
torque limiting levelwind designed into the
Conquest series. “Even if fingers or debris gets
stuck in the levelwind, it will stop moving and
prevent any gear breakage – or even possible
injury to the angler,” Gant said.
The smaller Calcutta Conquest 100 and
101 weigh 7.5-ounces, have 5.2:1 gear ratios,
and can handle 110-yard of 8-pound test
monofilament, or from 115-yards of 20-pound
test to 80-yards of 40-pound test PowerPro
braid. The Calcutta Conquest 200 and 201 size
reels weigh 8.4-ounces, have 4.8:1 gear ratios,
and can handle 110-yard of 12-pound test
monofilament, or from 190-yards of 30-pound
test to 80-yards of 65-pound test PowerPro
braid. All four reels retrieve in more than
23-inches of line per crank.
“When it comes to round reels, the Calcutta
name has become the standard anglers look for,”
said Gant. “It continues to be our benchmark,
and with the Conquest reels, we’re providing
anglers with the next decade round reel.”

ANGLERS ‘GET MORE’
IN NEW SHIMANO
CURADO I SERIES REELS
LONG-TIME ‘GO-TO’
LATEST TECHNOLOGY
REELS
FEATURE
Among avid anglers
going back more than 20 years, the Shimano
Curado has become the standard baitcasting
reel to use for nearly any bass fishing technique
– along with other freshwater and inshore
saltwater action. As new Shimano technology
immerged, the Curado reels evolved with those
new features. Anglers now get the most from
Shimano with the next Curado reels, the new
Curado I series, now available in five models –
the Curado CU200PG, CU200, CU200HG, and
left-hand retrieve CU201 and 201HG.
By offering multiple gear ratios in the
reels – the 200PG has a slower 5.5:1 gear ratio,
the 200 and 201 have a 6.3:1 ratio, and the
200HG and 201HG have a fast 7.2:1 gear ratio,
“anglers have the right reel for the baits they are
using,” said Robby Gant with Shimano’s product
development staff, “plus the benefits from our
latest baitcasting reel technology including
SVS Infinity Braking System, S3D Stabile Spool
Design and X-Ship.”
Relying on ‘inner friction’ to provide
consistent brake force, Shimano’s innovative SVS
Infinity braking system provides easy-to-manage,
consistent spool control and brake force on
the new Curado I series baitcasting reels. With
brake weights using ‘inner friction’ against the
raceway during the cast, SVS Infinity controls
spool speed especially when using lighter lures,
plus the external adjustment knob provides
for quick, precise adjustments for either the
conditions or when you switch baits.
For “an incredibly smooth feel when
casting and retrieving lures, anglers will notice
how our Stabile Spool Design (S3D) has a
tremendous effect reducing spool vibration,”
Gant said. He explains that S3D technology
enables Shimano to construct a thin wall
aluminum spool to provide better balance.
X-Ship is all about gear durability, and
how it enhances casting performance for longer
casts and when using lighter lures. “With X-Ship,
we support the pinion gear on both ends with
bearings, keeping it in precise alignment with
the drive gear even under heavy loads,” said
Gant. “It’s proven technology from our Tranx
and Calcutta D series – reels primarily used
with big baits to target big fish. As anglers have
always expected from our Curado reels, they
are ready to handle every day, every weekend
on the water use.”
To cast lures like bigger crankbaits and
spinnerbaits – and to work more water, the
Curado 200PG retrieves 23-inches of line
per crank. The CU200 and 201 can provide
more versatile use – jigs, small crankbaits,
lipless cranks, jerkbaits and swimbaits – while
retrieving 26-inches of line per crank. Anglers
can expect 30-inches of line retrieved per crank
to come tight quick when fishing worms and
jigs with CU200HG and 201HG. All five Curado
I reels handles from 190 yards of 30-pound test
to 80 yards of 65-pound PowerPro braid (or up
to 110 yards of 14-pound mono).
With five S-ARB anti-rust ball bearings,
and a one-way roller bearing for absolutely
no handle backplay, the Curado I also include
proven Shimano feature including Super Free
and Super Stopper, a Cross Carbon Drag, and an
Offset Handle Design.
EVOLUTION IN DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY
Anglers get more with the Curado I series, showcasing the latest
in Shimano baitcasting reel technology and offered in 3 gear ratios –
5.5:1 - 6.3:1 - 7.2:1. Still the go to, fish with confidence reel among bass
anglers, Curado I reels take the next step in Shimano tackle innovation.
X-Ship
X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting
the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion
gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This
means the gears will stay in the same position under the
heaviest loads. The added benefit is that friction between
the spool shaft and gear is eliminated, enhancing the casting
performance with lighter lures, and allowing for longer casts.
SVS Infinity
Relying on ‘inner friction’ against the raceway during the
cast to provide consistent brake force, Shimano’s innovative
SVS Infinity braking system provides easy-to-manage
spool control to the Curado I baitcasting reels. Anglers can
fine-tune the SVS Infinity system to control spool speed
especially when using lighter lures, plus the external
adjustment knob provides for quick, precise adjustments for
either the conditions or when you switch baits.
Shimano Stable Spool Design (S3D)
Shimano’s S3D technology leads to significantly reduced
spool vibration. By designing a balanced and uniform thin
wall aluminum constructed spool, S3D creates an incredibly
smooth feeling when casting and retrieving lures.
fish.shimano.com
“The Curado standard continues with these
new reels,” Gant said. “We realize anglers have
special expectations with our Curado reels, and
we fulfill our ‘Get More’ goal with these new
reels and the new Shimano technology now
featured in them. From the first series going
back to 1991, our goal is to always to exceed
the expectations anglers have in us and their
Curado reels.”

light designed to jump-start the food chain and
energize evening angling excursions.
Fully equipped with a five-sided array
of 180 High Intensity SMD LEDs, Bio-Lume
distributes light to least 200-feet and provides
a full 360-degrees of underwater illumination.
The result is not only a spectacular underwater
light show, but also a magnetic-like draw for
plankton, crustaceans, squid and other lightsensing critters. When minnows and large
predatory fish inevitably crash the party, the
fun really begins.
“Savvy anglers who fish after dark have long
recognized the importance of small-area light
sources, and the positive impact they can have
on catch rates,” offers fish behavior researcher,
university professor and angling technology
expert, Dr. Jason Halfen.
“Savvy anglers who fish after dark have
long recognized the importance of small-area
light sources, and the positive impact they
can have on catch rates,” offers fish behavior
researcher, university professor and angling
technology expert, Dr. Jason Halfen.
“Light sources like the submersible AquaVu Bio-Lume positively impact catch rates by
influencing multiple aspects of the predator-prey
relationship. Even short-term use of submersible
light sources can stimulate the local food web.
Phytoplankton and zooplankton are instinctively
drawn to these light sources. A high plankton
concentration attracts minnows and other
small, plankton-eating fish, which in turn draws
predator fish to the illuminated area.”
Connected to 16 feet of heavy-duty power
cable and juiced by most 12-volt batteries,
the Aqua-Vu Bio-Lume emits a dazzling 900
Lumens of water-penetrating illumination. Built
with a solid IP68 waterproof rating, Bio-Lume
is engineered to attract fish for thousands of
hours of operation.
Adds Dr. Halfen: “The wavelength-specific
green light produced by the Aqua-Vu Bio-Lume
is central to its success. Water acts like a filter
for light, quickly absorbing most colors in the
visible spectrum. In aquatic environments,
however, only 1% of green light is absorbed per
meter of water. To the angler, this means the
light produced by the Bio-Lume will activate an
incredibly large volume of water surrounding
the light source.”
Halfen also believes the underwater light
produced by the Bio-Lume is easier on human
eyes, does not inhibit our night vision and is
much less likely to attract flying insects above
the surface. “Deploying one or more Bio-Lume
systems near your nighttime fishing area is the
fastest, most effective way to jump-start the
underwater food chain, and to attract big
actively-feeding gamefish.”
Fresh- and saltwater ready, the AquaVu Bio-Lume retails for $49.99 and is designed
for use on docks, piers, jetties, boats and ice
fishing. For more information, or to order BioLume, visit www.aquavu.com

“Wearable” Underwater
Camera System
Hardy Ultralite DD
THE FOUNDATION OF PERFORMANCE.
Aesthetically stunning, the Ultralite DD fuses the
legendary strength of Hardy reel design into an
ultra large arbor, ultra lightweight disc drag fly reel.
New Micro-Mobile Pro Viewing Case
offered FREE with any Micro Cam purchase.
What if, rather than carrying that smartphone
or tablet in your hands, technology allowed you
to actually “wear” these indispensible devices?
Imagine having the device always at the ready
in front of your eyes, convenient, low profile
and completely hands-free.
Aqua-Vu,
technology
leaders
in
smartphone-sized underwater viewing systems,
recently released the Micro-Mobile Pro Viewing
Case. The first wearable underwater camera
holster, the Pro Viewing Case fits any Aqua-Vu
Micro Series system, allowing anglers to view
with unprecedented mobility, convenience and
nearly hands-free operation.
Titanium available in 8 models, 3000 (3/4/5) through 10000 (10/11/12).
Black stealth option available in 5 models, 3000 through 7000.
www.hardyfishing.com
Armed with dual adjustable (neck and torso)
buckles, the Pro Viewing Case fits all anglers,
positioning and resting their Aqua-Vu Micro
camera comfortably on their chest or upper
torso, where the screen remains visible at all
times. The benefits, as explained by North
American Ice Fishing Circuit (NAIFC) champion
Brandon Newby, are self-evident.
“The Aqua-Vu Micro cam and the Mobile
Pro Viewing Case have been the most important
tools in our success in national ice tournaments,”
says Newby, who along with partner Ryan Wilson
have captured two consecutive NAIFC Team of
the Year titles, plus the 2012 Championship and
numerous other qualifying events. “We drill a
ton of holes and search for fish over hundreds of
acres in each lake we fish. Having a hands-free
camera system that frees our hands to view, drill
holes, tie knots and catch fish is a huge luxury.
“Ryan and I can each rig up a Pro Viewing
Case at the start of the day and always have the
Micro cam ready when we need it. The case also
manages extra camera cable, and carries keys,
cell phones, tackle and other small necessities.
It even has a zippered LCD cover that doubles
as a sunshield, and the design is so stealthy that
we can underwater view without any of our
fellow competitors knowing what we’re up to.”
Built to secure any Aqua-Vu Micro Series
underwater camera, the Micro-Mobile Pro

IMPROVED PORTABILITY, CONTROL AND APPEARANCE
MEAN MORE BENEFITS THAN EVER.
Viewing Case is the perfect portable solution for
all ice anglers, especially for those who like to
fish light and stay mobile.
Longtime Aqua-Vu fan and ice fishing
pioneer, Brian “Bro” Brosdahl sings a similar tune.
“This things rocks. The case and camera sit right
on my ‘food shelf’ (Bro’s term for love handles)
and won’t flop around, even when drilling holes
or moving. It’s the perfect solution for speed
viewing—moving quickly from hole to hole and
checking for the presence of fish, vegetation or
specific types of bottom. I don’t have to hold the
camera, just the cable. Leaves my jigging hand
free so I can quickly drop a bait when I land on a
pod of big ‘gills or crappies, and continue to sight
fish through the Micro screen. It’s the next musthave item for ice fishing, for sure.”
Available at retailers in early December,
the Aqua-Vu Micro-Mobile Pro Viewing Case
comes with a 12-volt camera battery charger
and retails for $39.95. Also, from now through
January 15, 2015, purchase of any Aqua-Vu Micro
Series underwater camera qualifies buyers to
receive a rebate for a FREE Pro Viewing Case /

Honda’s 2015 NewModel Expansion
ATV enthusiasts will be thrilled
with this latest batch of models
from Honda, it will provide
them with more choice
than ever before. Honda’s
engineering prowess is clearly evident with this
stunning array of new ATV models that are being
released alongside some returning favorites for
2015.
Honda are very excited to announce a number
of all-new additions to the 2015 ATV line-up.
Our engineers were challenged to come
up with new models that would better meet
the evolving lifestyles of today’s consumer and
we are happy to report that they were able
to meet that challenge. By applying different
technologies in varying combinations Honda
engineers were ultimately able to provide
something for just about everyone, no matter
how demanding their lifestyle.
TRX500 Rubicon Family
The Rubicon trail near Lake Tahoe is renowned
for its difficulty and its unforgiving punishment
to both man and machine; as a name it perfectly
embodies the character of Honda’s all-new line
of more trail focused ATVs.
Available in five different versions (two
automatics and three manual shift models) the
new Rubicons all feature the same long travel,
Independent Rear Suspension System (IRS) that
allows the rear wheels to more accurately follow
difficult terrain, improving traction, control and
comfort. This advanced new system brings a
new level of precision to IRS handling with a
strong feeling of security and control.
In addition to the independent rear
suspension system, all five Rubicons also share
thicker broader seats, a roomier seating position,
a clever new reverse selection mechanism,
innovative new high comfort handgrips, new
aggressive tires, increased rack and towing
capacities and a locking front differential.
TRX500 Rubicon Deluxe
TRX500 Rubicon DCT Deluxe
Automatic Transmission is available on two
variations - Standard (TRX500 Rubicon DCT
IRS EPS) and the DCT Deluxe version (TRX500
Rubicon DCT Deluxe) both featuring Honda’s
proven Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). DCT
is a computer controlled, fully automatic,
seamless shifting transmission with gear-ongear efficiency and durability. DCT also allows
the operator to override automatic operation
and shift gears manually via handlebarmounted buttons.
Both automatic variants also include
another important feature, Electric Power
Steering (EPS). EPS reduces steering effort and
also reduces handlebar kickback when wheels
are deflected by obstacles, also adding to the
improved comfort and control.
For riders who want a little more style with
their comfort and control the Automatic TRX500
Rubicon DCT Deluxe version adds custom-style
aluminum wheels, special badging, special red
painted suspension components as well as
distinctive black bodywork, giving it a look that
will certainly turn heads out on the trail.
Manual transmission is available on
three different versions of the Independent
Rear Suspension platform so riders can select
the one best suited to their budget or taste.
The TRX500FM5 variant features manual
steering and a foot-shifted auto-clutch manual
transmission for riders who prefer a more basic
machine or for the cost conscious fleet buyers.
While the TRX500 Rubicon IRS EPS adds the
luxury of power steering, the TRX500 Rubicon
Deluxe goes a step further adding the unique
deluxe package with a touch more style. The
deluxe package includes lightweight aluminum
wheels, red painted shock springs, red painted
suspension arms and unique white bodywork.
These all-new models effectively straddle
the line between work and recreation and
are sure to be a welcome addition to Honda’s
already popular line-up of versatile ATVs.
TRX500 Foreman Family
Returning for 2015 is the TRX500 Foreman series
of utility machines. These rugged, full-sized
workhorses carry with them Honda’s durability,
quality and reliability and are available with
manual transmission or Honda’s renowned
Electric Shift Program for push-button shifting.
Electric Power Steering is also available on the
electric shift model. Both versions incorporate a
new one-lever engagement system for actuating
reverse gear or the parking brake.
TRX420 Family
Four versions of the TRX420 will be offered for
2015. Three variations, TRX420, TRX420 EPS
and TRX420 DCT EPS are returning models that
underwent heavy revision just last year. The
fourth is the exciting new TRX420 DCT IRS EPS
with an all new independent rear suspension
system and a number of other detailed
improvements.
TRX420 DCT IRS EPS
For 2015 the new-generation TRX420 DCT IRS
EPS incorporates an all-new Independent Rear
Suspension system that increases suspension
travel substantially over the TRX420PG model
that it replaces. The new chassis also offers
increased front suspension travel, more ground
clearance, larger front disc brakes for added
stopping power and a new easy-to-engage
reverse lever along with an improved Electric
Power Steering system. This new TRX420 DCT IRS
EPS is powered by the venerable 420cc engine,
and features a five-speed fully automatic Dual
Clutch Transmission with improved shift program
and shaft drive that’s virtually maintenance-free.
Brighter headlights, increased electrical
output, more fuel capacity, a larger, softer seat,
and a new digital meter package are just some
of the additional features that may just make
this latest addition to the TRX420F family the
most popular of all.
TRX420 Swingarm Series
The rest of the TRX420 series (with enclosedaxle, swingarm rear suspension) returns for
2015, now equipped with Honda’s new, easyactuation reverse lever. The TRX420 and TRX420
EPS both offer foot shift manual transmissions
while the TRX420 DCT IRS EPS offers the same
fully automatic Dual Clutch Transmission as
the new IRS version. All models offer Electric
Power Steering except the base TRX420 which
is targeted at the budget conscious buyer.
TRX420 DCT IRS EPS
Honda now has a complete line-up of IRSequipped ATVs as well as a complete line-up
of swingarm/axle ATVs in both 420 and 500cc
models.
TRX90X
The smallest in size but not personality the
TRX90X returns for 2015 as well. This machine
has been a great starting point for thousands
of ATV riders. An exceptionally smooth power
delivery and great handling are backed by
Honda’s renowned Durability Quality and
Reliability. Electric starting makes it easy to get
going, and the durable automatic clutch, fourspeed transmission, refined suspension system,
sealed drum brakes and sporty styling combine
to make the TRX90X a great place for the 10+
youngster to begin the journey of discovering
the world of off-road riding.

Radical New Cold
Weather Apparel
Renders Winter Temps
Irrelevant
Frabill engineers the preeminent I-5 Ice
Suit; emphasizes safety, comfort and
fishing performance
Jigglesticks and six-packs of
Schmidt aside, this ain’t ice
fishing a la Grumpy Old Men.
In fact, among the sport’s top
practitioners today, weather and the elements no
longer affect comfort or fishing performance—
ever. Cold is a state of mind. It exists outside only,
isolated beyond the cozy confines of the radically
engineered Frabill I-5 Suit.
Ergonomic, athletic (fishing IS a sport,
after all) and ultra comfortable, Frabill’s extreme
cold weather suit is simply the most advanced
angling outerwear ever developed.
Employing the industry’s most respected
full-time apparel engineer, Frabill called once
more upon virtuoso designer Chris Leonard to
fabricate the ultimate outerwear for progressive
ice anglers—the radical I-5. “Yes, it’s an
expensive garment,” says Leonard. “It’s also the
best cold weather fishing suit in the world.”
Behind superlatives and
justified hype lies a feature
/ function list that reads like
it’s designed for missions
to Mars rather than frozen
lakes. The 3-in-1 jacket
design offers a waterproof,
windproof,
breathable
Cordura® ripstop nylon
shell that’s 100-percent
seam sealed. Waterproof
performance is measured
in pounds per square inch
and at 28-psi, the I-5 is the
apparel equivalent of a
force field.
“You can remove the
mid-layers,” says Leonard,
“transforming the I-5 Jacket
into an impenetrable rain
suit. You can also wear the insulated mid-layer
as a sharp-looking stand- alone.”
Arms in the I-5 Jacket are pre-fitted and
custom-articulated to match a range of motions
specific to ice fishing. Borrowed from aerospace
and military applications, specialized nylonaramid fibers pad and reinforce elbows, knees
and forearms. For further fit and function, an
industry exclusive pleated, expanding back
prevents restriction of movement and fatigue.
Additional critical accoutrements include:
adjustable removable hood with sun visor, hand
warmer pockets with tricot linings, zipper vents
for temperature regulation, multiple cargo
pockets plus internal electronics pocket.
Emphasizing safety first, Frabill’s I-5 Jacket
also includes a Self-Rescue feature set: ice pick
holsters, specialized drainage mesh to minimize
water weight, and a Frabill Ice Safety internal
label, for reference. For on-ice visibility in all
conditions, both the Jacket and Bibs sport 3M™
Scotchlite™ reflective material that assures
the wearer is recognized as a human from a
distance, rather than just a reflective object.
Equally protective as the I-5 Jacket, the I-5
Bibs sport Cordura ripstop shell fabric and 28-psi
of waterproof performance. Bib insulation can
also be removed without taking off the shell
or your winter boots. Leonard notes that this
feature provides an excellent means of quickly
controlling temperature. Cargo pockets include
zipper and cover flap closures, while internal
boot gaiters offer extended ergonomic length.
“I’m confident saying the I-5 is the most
advanced, most comfortable, and most versatile
fishing-specific suit ever made. For any angler
looking for superior quality and shopping for
one suit for both ice and open water fishing, the
I-5 is the ultimate, definitive outfit.”
Available in six sizes, Small through 3XL,
the I-5 continues Frabill’s tradition of apparel
excellence. For more information, visit www.

‘F’ is for Phenomenal
Frabill’s new F1 Storm Gear engineered
for superior dryness in warm weather
conditions
Regrettably, dry on the outside
often means wet on the inside.
Sure, you’ve kept the rainstorm
at bay, but at the sacrifice of
becoming a human sweat lodge. Anglers know
that soaked feeling and wetted-oneself look after
removing suffocating rubber waders. Same goes
for mediocre raingear – kiln dried on the outside
while a primary rain forest roots within.
This very humid-on-theinside dilemma presents one
of the greatest challenges in
raingear design. How does an
angler stay dry, inside-andout, in smoldering to blazing
weather conditions? Frabill’s
chief apparel designer
Chris Leonard says he has
the remedy. The new F1
Storm Gear premium
raingear is critically
engineered for anglers
dealing with wet skies in warm weather
conditions.
Widely available spring 2015, Frabill F1
Storm Gear, Leonard confirms, is built for anglers
that know all about overheating. “Coastal and
freshwater bass anglers are subjected to some
of the worst weather imaginable. When it’s
pouring rain, but the thermometer still reads
80-degrees or higher, you can get drenched on
the inside even if your raingear keeps outside
moisture out.
We developed F-Series raingear with the
specific purpose of keeping you dry inside…
and out.”
Longtime outerwear architect Leonard
says the F1’s construction is engineered from
the outside-in. “We started with a premium
lightweight ripstop outer fabric. The new F1
maintains the same waterproof performance as
our F2, but in a lighter overall garment.”
The durable yet supple ripstop fabric is
then braced by a layer of internal mesh that
maintains an airy feeling as your skin is kept
from the outer fabric. The cooling air flow
between the fabric and your skin promotes
convective heat transfer away from the body,
too. This matrimony of materials is found in
both the jacket and pant.
Design of the bottoms is extraordinary as
well. “It’s a hybrid pant,” says Leonard, “combining
the best features from rain bibs and pants.” Taller
than regular pants, but shorter than bibs, the
new hybrid pant rises just above the waistline
to hug your torso. Adjustable waist straps let the
user customize fit, too, so you won’t fall victim to
“plumber’s butt” at every bend.
“The idea for the hybrid pants really comes
from the frame-pack world,” says Leonard. And
considering that TENZING Outdoors hunting
packs hail from the same parent company,
it’s safe to assume Leonard knows what he’s
talking about. “Instead of putting all the weight
on your shoulders, the hybrid pants share the
burden with your hips.” The shoulder straps are
completely removable as well if you prefer the
pants-only play.
Like all of Leonard’s F-Series designs, ergonomic
patterning in the F1 continues to elevate Frabill
outerwear above all others. Fabric sections for
the sleeve and back are precision tailored to
move naturally with the human form, be it
casting, captaining, or yanking on an outboard
pull start.
Ergonomics continues in the knees and
elbows. “The pre-curvature of F-Series Strom
Gear is matched to the human form and
posture. You’ll see what I’m talking about when
an F-Series suit hangs next to raingear from
other makers. Slip one on an F-Series and you’ll
really feel what I mean.”
F1 Storm Gear will be available as
separates to personalize fit. Jackets come in
two colors, rich forest green and oceanic blue;
hybrid pants in an earthen tan that matches
both jacket colors with style and class. For

Flip These Totes the
Cold Finger Anytime
The Frabill Tackle Bag Series makes
accessing ice-fishing gear easier than
ever no matter how bitter the air
Fumble fingers and thumbs. If
you’ve ever ice fished you know
all about ‘em. The problem with
phalanges is feeling. A deep
freeze and their tight and tingling selves add
levels of difficulty to even the simplest of tasks.
And then there’s fact that frigid digits
can make even the most diehard ice angler lazy.
Yeah that’s right, lazy – all too often forgoing the
search for alternative baits when the bite slows.
The tackle tote, albeit harboring a cornucopia
of options, sits closed and frosting over.
But the culprit really isn’t the Arctic air
temperatures. Heck, without the bitter cold
there would be no such thing as ice fishing at all
– duh. The issue is more so the poorly-designed
ice-fishing tackle systems of the past.
Fast forward to this past brutal winter when
Frabill’s northern most field staff collaborated
with the minds of the company’s top engineers.
Their conclusion? Simplicity is by far best when
it comes to making tackle most accessible in
sub-zero temperatures. What has become is
the straightforward design of the new Frabill
Tackle Bag Series.
“Not only is it easy to access your gear
from the Frabill Tackle Bag Series, but they
are small and compact, making them a great
choice for any angler on the go,” says Northern
Minnesota ice-fishing guru and Frabill Pro
Staffer Tom Neustrom. “But even for their size
they hold a lot of tackle, and the small, medium
and large sizes are great for sorting different
sized baits. Just grab what you need and onto
the ice you go.”
The Frabill Tackle Bag Series comes in
three sizes to meet every ice angler’s volume
demands. Each comes packed with Plano’s
hallmark ProLatch StowAway utility boxes. From
miniscule tungsten jigs to spoons big enough
to ladle chowder, there’s room at the inn. No
matter if you set sights on mountable lakers,
pike and walleyes, or panfish from crappies to
bluegills and perch, there’s a Frabill Tackle Bag
to accommodate your lure arsenal.
Design-wise, first take note of the handles
– large in diameter and easy to grasp, even when
tucked tight into the corner of an ice shanty.
Next, large looped pull
tabs tug the heavy-duty
zipper for easy-open,
easy-shut access even
when donning gloves.
Super-tough
canvas
yields
the
utmost
durability. A patented
fold-down design opens wide for graceful
access to a pair of ProLatch StowAway boxes.
To that, the ProLatch’s clasps are oversized and
unproblematic to undo and relock no matter
how cold your hands may be.
Simple in design; compact in size; easy
access in the bitter cold – that’s what the Frabill
Tackle Bag Series is all about.

Comfort and
Great Features in
Millennium Marine
Boat Seats
Few features in a boat are
more appreciated after a
long day on the lake than
a fantastic seat. The new
boat seats from Millennium
Marine will make anglers and boaters wonder
why they haven’t always had such comfortable
seats with so many great features. Exclusive to Millennium Marine boat seats
is a patented ComfortMax design. ComfortMax
seats feature all aluminum construction
that will last through years of rugged use.
Millennium Marine boat seats are constructed
with a breathable fabric that is UV-resistant for
protection from all elements that take a toll on
equipment, including the sun, wind and rain.
Unlike other seats made of wet foam or rubber
that will break down or rot, the ComfortMax
seat holds up in all temperatures and weather
conditions. The fabric design also prevents
unwanted mold, mildew and dry rot that are
such a source of frustration for boat owners.
Ever started your morning on the lake by
sitting on a wet boat seat? That’s a miserable
discomfort you never have to experience again.
Millennium Marine’s new line of boat seats will
not hold dew on those early morning fishing
trips. They also drain water even in a downpour
and dry quickly.
Anglers and boats will find just the
right seat among the options available from
Millennium Marine. Millennium Marine boat
seats are available in several models and in two
series, the B Series and the SW Series. The SW
seats have all the same features but also include
added features and designs for saltwater fishing. If a folding chair back is what you are
looking for, then look no further than the B100
boat seat from Millennium. If lumbar support is
what you desire without the folding chair back,
the B200 affords you just that.
Lean and cast all you want with the B200
and B300 while experiencing better visibility,
a flatter fold than the competition and a
mount designed to fit any boat seat pedestal.
From the lightweight 19.5-pound aluminum
frame to the 400-pound seating capacity, the
Millennium Marine B100, B200 and B300
provide a construction and design unlike
anything other boat seat. Similar to the B100, the SW100 by
Millennium Marine has all the great features
found in the B series with enhancements vital to
saltwater fishing equipment, such as anodized
aluminum construction to provide added
protection against the elements.
All seats come with a 3-year warranty, but
the rugged design makes it all but impossible
you’d ever need the warranty.
Outdoorsmen love the comfort, features
and rugged design of the Millennium Marine
boat seats so much they are also using the greencolored seats in duck blinds and shooting houses.
Features of Millennium Marine’s ComfortMax
boat seat include:
•
•

Plano Leads Tackle
Storage Sales With
Ongoing Practical
Innovation
Southwick survey says consumers
choose Plano tackle storage solutions
more than any other brand
In a recent internet-based
survey of nearly 16,000 anglers
completed
by
Southwick
Associates, the nation’s premier
outdoors market research firm,
participants said they purchased
Plano tackle storage products more in 2014 than
any other brand.
Plano’s continuous drive for innovation
comes from a unique company dynamic rooted
in over sixty years of making quality products that
are meaningful to anglers. In an age of corporate
conglomerates, there’s often an unfortunate and
growing disconnect between company personnel
and the ultimate consumers they serve; not so
with Plano Molding, which – top to bottom –
remains a company of fishermen for fishermen.
Ryan Kleckner, Plano Vice President of
Engineering, is not unlike the typical Plano
customer. “We’re driven to make the fishermen’s
experience more efficient and, ultimately, more
enjoyable,” says Kleckner, who spends time on
the water each year himself, along with family
and friends. “Any time we can save an angler
by keeping him or her more organized means
more time spent doing what they enjoy… that’s
real value,” he adds.
“Individual preferences are also very
real,” says Kleckner, “And we continually push
ourselves to develop multiple solutions to tackle
storage challenges… from soft bags to molded
products and modular component systems, Plano
continues to innovate on all fronts,” he concludes.
Indeed, Plano engineers and manufactures
over 170 unique tackle storage products – more
than any other manufacturer – including the
new-for-2015 Plano Hybrid Hip Tackle Boxes and
Marine Storage Trunks.
PLANO HYBRID HIP STOWAWAY BOX (723700)
& HYBRID HIP TRAY BOX (723300)
The new Plano Hybrid Hip StowAway Box
and Hybrid Hip Tray Box add an unparalleled
level of functionality and sophistication to
the traditional, telescoping three-tray design.
Instead of opening your treasure chest of
tackle into a trio of fixed and slotted trays,
you’re yielded creative license to customize the
arrangement with surgical precision.
Plano VP of Engineering Ryan Kleckner
says versatility is what makes the Hybrid Hip Box
so unique. “Instead of being categorized as a
top-loading or front-loading tackle box, they do
both. You can access the individual trays without
opening the top, or go ahead and open it up and
let the trays telescope-out for total access.”
Each tray doubles as a drawer. Open the
clear outer door like an oven and access your
chosen tray. Open the top of the tackle box, and
the same trays are accessible and viewable from
a vulture’s perspective. (Discover a hot bait and
friends become scavenging birds of prey, right?)
Both durable boxes offer generous belly
space for housing fishing line, bags of plastics,
pliers…and even more Plano StowAway utility
boxes! The lids feature two top-access storage
areas. Three heavy-duty brass-bailed latches
keep matters managed internally.
Plano’s new large-drawer and tray design
is available in two configurations. The Hybrid Hip
Tray Box features three conventional, removable
trays. The more premium Hybrid Hip StowAway
Box comes with a trifecta of Plano ProLatch™
3700 utility boxes – each box (14” x 9.13” x 2”)
sporting 4-24 customizable compartments.
723700 HYBRID HIP STOWAWAY BOX
• Drop down front door allows for easy access
to StowAway® Utility boxes
• Includes two 3700 series and one 3701
StowAway® utility boxes
• Two top-access storage areas
• Three heavy duty brass-bailed latches
• Large bulk storage area

723300 HYBRID HIP TRAY BOX

utilities to be stored in their place
• Two top-access storage areas
• Three heavy duty brass-bailed latches
• Large bulk storage area

PLANO MARINE TRUNKS (161960, 171960
& 191960)
Seems like no matter how big your boat, there’s
never enough storage. In fact, the bigger the
boat, the more essentials you need for a day
on the water. From PFDs to extra clothing, rain
gear, species and technique specific gear and
tackle, emergency and tool kits, fenders, you
name it, sometimes it feels like we need a boat
to tow behind the boat – one for fishing and
one for gear.
Thank goodness for Plano Marine Trunks.
Available in three introductory sizes, Plano
Marine Trunks are the perfect storage solution.
A clean boat is a happy boat.
Plano Marine Trunks have been
painstakingly designed to take a beating from
the water, salt and sun – even your bull in a
china shop buddy who breaks everything. Nope,
not your Plano Marine Trunk. These babies are
made to withstand the rigors of real-world use
like sucker punches from rough seas, off-road
transport and shoves from dock onto deck.
These tough trunks are molded from a UV
resistant HDPE material that resists fading, heat
damage and ensures years of use and abuse. All
sizes feature an O-ring seal to ensure contents
stay dry and out of the elements. Go ahead and
stack ‘em high. The reinforced, molded-groove
lid is designed to support heavy loads without
cracking or splitting. Finally, Plano Marine
Trunks also feature sturdy, removable and easy
to open/close buckles and molded ports that
make securing your trunks easy with standard
tie-down straps and padlocks.
• 161960 – 56 Quart Marine Storage Trunk /
24.00” x 15.00” x 13.00”
• 171960 – 68 Quart Marine Storage Trunk /
30.00” x 14.25” x 12.75”
• 191960 – 108 Quart Marine Storage Trunk /
37.75” x 14” x 18.25”
There are many reasons why consumers
choose Plano, including quality, durability and
innovation, but our favorite is “It’s what my dad
always used.”
