Hotel Adria
Formerly Hotel Austria, now Hotel Adria. The history of a transformation |
Tourism was only in its infancy in South Tyrol in the 19th century, while Merano
was already a popular destination. The mild climate was widely known and
Empress Sissi came here for her cures. High nobility and the bourgeoisie
followed her. In 1885, the Langguth family took advantage of the flourishing
period and constructed Hotel Austria in Merano Maia Alta. The elevator, which
is still in operation, dates back to 1914. The former owners finally changed the
hotel name to Hotel Adria. In 1970, the first indoor pool in Merano was realised
in Hotel Adria. Soon, the first modern wellness treatments were offered. Since
1982, the hotel has been in the possession of the Amort-Ellmenreich family,
your current hosts.

along the irrigation channels. There is a lot to do! Even on your day off there is
plenty to see: art and culture are omnipresent in Merano, and many museums

established Merano spa physician, Prof. Dr. G. v. Gara, offered all of the available scientific and medical knowledge relating to the grape cure. Building on his
suggestions and cure specifications, we offer the “Original Merano Grape Cure”

your body, find out what is good for you, and how you can lose some pounds
with gentle exercise and low-calorie meals.

of a fasting cure is to provide your body with a healthy break, to detoxify and

soul. Hence, fasting is not only a fast and comfortable method to lose excess
weight, but also a great opportunity to take a break and find to yourself. At
Hotel Adria, we will accompany you with targeted exercise, gentle treatments

Dogs: Small dogs only allowed upon request. Cleaning charge, € 15/day
(without food). Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, garden, pool and
beauty-farm.
Arrival and departure: Rooms available after 2 PM; for arrivals after
6 PM please inform per phone call. Rooms are to be left by 11 AM on
departure day, 10 AM in the Residence Désirée. Late check-out: subject to
availability and with surcharge.
Payment: cash, EC card, debit and credit cards (VISA, EURO or
MASTERCARD). Please communicate your preferred payment method on
arrival.
Cancellations: Cancellations are unpleasant for everyone. In case of
cancellation we will do our best to rent out the room or apartment. In
case this shouldn’t be successful you will be liable for the payment of the
full amount. Same rules apply for late arrivals or anticipated departure.
No cancellation fee up to 1 week prior to arrival. Cancellation fee up to 6
days prior to arrival: 50% of total payable amount. Cancellation fee up to
3 days prior to arrival: 70% of total payable amount. Cancellation fee up
to 1 day prior to arrival: 90% of total payable amount. Cancellation fee for
not showing up is: 100% of the total payable amount. For early departure
we will charge 3 days of stay.
