take up deserters on way back from the army near Little Rock homeward. We left
Little Rock on the 4th day of this month and came down to this place and since we

arrived been very busy ---This Company left home (Houston County) the 1st of July
1862 and has been near little Rock most of the time since. Francis (Satterwhite) and
John W. Fambrough (Celia Sattewhite’s Husband) are with me.--Alec has been
drafted since we left. Louisa’s (Satterwhite) husband, (Washington) was in service at
Corinth last spring and was discharged.--Write me when you get this. You may
direct your letter to Captain D. A. Nunn’s Calvary Company, Arkadelphia,
Arkansas.”
