Public Input Needed for
The Johnson County Library is seeking community input for its expansion project. The goal is to
increase the library’s space by approximately 10,000 square feet. Plan One architects of Utah will create
the design.
We invite everyone to attend our open house on Wednesday, Feb 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the library.
There will be refreshments provided and the architects will be present to gather input through a few
activities. Also, a survey was distributed through the Buffalo Bulletin newspaper recently. We also have
a link on our website to the survey so you can take it online:

BooksareSNOWWonderful
Grab books for Winter Reading Program
The Johnson County Library’s Winter Reading Program, “Books are SNOW
Wonderful,” began on Jan. 21 but there’s still plenty of time to get reading if you
haven’t already.
The program lasts until the prize drawing on March 21. Reading slips can be
deposited to enter a drawing for prizes in five reading groups: Preschool to K;
Grades 1 to 3; Grades 4 to 5; Teens; and Adults. A prize basket funded by the
Friends of the Library will be awarded for each group during our grand prize
drawing.
Come grab a book and get reading!
CHILDREN Mark off one snowman for every 15 minutes a child reads or
is read to. There are six per sheet, for 1 1/2 hours on each
sheet.
ADULTS Rate the books you
read by marking off
one through five
snowmen and
filling in the title.
TEENS Mark one skier for
every 30 minutes
you read. There are

Wonder. I had read reviews and heard other librarians recommend this book,
but it wasn’t until I picked it up and started to read it that I understood why all
the reviews had been so outstanding. This story enlightens and teaches and
opens our minds, eyes and hearts. Is it just for children to read? No. All of us
can learn something from reading Wonder.
This is a story about a boy named Auggie who is about to
start fifth grade after being homeschooled for years.
Auggie was born with severe facial anomalies and has
had 27 surgeries to correct them. His face is described as
being melted. August tells the reader about his face: “My
name is August, by the way, I won’t describe what I look
like. Whatever you’re thinking it’s probably worse.”
You will meet his parents and sister, his friends and
teachers, and even the bullies. Enjoy the journey with
Auggie as he finds his way during his school year. It will
touch your heart, it will make you cry, and it will make
you think.
