Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association
(SHEDA), with the support of the Ministry of Housing Sarawak
(MOH) and the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia
(CIDB) will be holding the SHEDA PROPERTY EXPO 2016 at the
Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), Sarawak, Malaysia
from 23 - 25 September 2016.
SHEDA PROPERTY EXPO (previously known as “SARBEX”) was
first established in 1998 to create a one-stop centre for potential
homeowners, investors and developers by bringing together housing
and property developers, manufactures and suppliers of building
materials, home and lifestyle furnishing, bankers and other related
services together under one roof.
The idea was conceived to help bolster the property sector during
the economic downturn in the late ‘90s. Since then, SHEDA
PROPERTY EXPO has continued to receive encouraging support
from housing developers and the general public. The Expo is the
perfect avenue to connect developers to prospective house buyers
and property investors.
SHEDA PROPERTY EXPO 2016 will be a comprehensive and
activity-filled 3-day event aimed at experienced, new and potential
house buyers and investors. The Expo will feature attractive and
wide-ranging properties from landed and strata residential properties
to villas, commercial developments and resort property, both within
and beyond Sarawak, extending to Singapore, Australia and the UK.
SHEDA encourages all interested exhibitors to make their booking
registrations early to secure your preferred location in view of the
consistently good response from exhibitors from Peninsula and
overseas.

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
1. TERMS OF REFERENCE
11. INSURANCE, LIABILITY & RISKS
Unless otherwise determined by the Organiser, under the rules and regulations of
this contract, the following terms of reference shall apply:- “Contract” shall mean
the contract for space at the Event between the Organiser and the Exhibitor, which
incorporates these Terms and Conditions of Participation; “Event” shall mean
SHEDA Property Expo 2016 referred to in the Booking and contract Form;
“Exhibitor” shall mean any company, partnership, firm or individual and shall
include all employees, servants and/or agents of the same, to whom space has
been allocated for the purposes of the Event; “Organiser” shall mean Sarawak
Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (SHEDA); and “Venue” shall
mean Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) Sarawak, Malaysia.
12. SECURITY
2. APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION
Application for participation shall be made in the prescribed Booking Form and
submitted to the Organiser. The submission of the Booking Form together with full
payment shall be deemed to be confirmation of participation and acceptance by
the Exhibitor of the Terms of Contract. Notwithstanding the above, the Organiser
reserves the right to accept or refuse any application without disclosing to the
Exhibitor any reasons thereof.
3. TERMS OF PAYMENT
Full payment is payable to SARAWAK HOUSING AND REAL ESTATE
DEVELOPERS’ ASSOCIATION (SHEDA) (Public Bank Account No
3126520221) upon submission of the Booking Form. Any cancellation after the
issuance of the invoice shall be subject to a 50% penalty charge on the price
of the booth reserved.
4. ASSIGNMENT OF BOOTHS
The Organiser reserves the absolute right to reassign booths to Exhibitors in the
manner and arrangement it sees fit for the Event.
5. CANCELLATION AND DEFAULT IN PAYMENT
In the event of any cancellation or default in payment by the Exhibitor, the
Organiser reserves the right to terminate the Contract with immediate effect and
retain any/or claim any payment made and/or yet to be made by the Exhibitor. The
Organiser reserves the right to re-let the affected space contracted by the
defaulting Exhibitor. In the event the Organiser having elected but is unable to relet the affected space, the defaulting Exhibitor shall be liable to indemnify the
Organiser by paying the entire unit cost to the Organiser as liquidated damages for
the loss of rental.
6. BUILD-UP AND TEAR-DOWN PERIOD
Exhibitors are to comply with the build-up and tear-down period scheduled as
follows:-

7. USE OF RENTED BOOTH / SPACE
Exhibitors are not allowed to extend or build booths or place exhibits outside the
contracted shell booth space or on the overhead area without prior permission
from the Organiser. No alteration or additional work to shell booths and the
paneling is allowed without prior WRITTEN approval from the Organiser. No exhibit
or material which may cause danger or damage to people or property, will be
allowed within the Exhibition Halls. Exhibitors are not allowed to sub-let or assign
the booths assigned to them to any 3rd party whether wholly or in part, without the
WRITTEN consent of the Organiser.
8. DAMAGES
Exhibitors will be liable for any damage caused by their employees, servants or
agents, to the wall, carpet, pillars, doors or any other part of the Venue, including
but not limited to, the Exhibition Hall(s) in which their respective booths and/or
exhibits are placed. Exhibitors shall not paint or affix anything to any wall or alter in
any way whatsoever, any wall, floor, ceiling or pillar without the prior consent of the
Organiser.
9. ELECTRICAL SUPPLY RULES & REGULATIONS
Exhibitors are to comply with the rules and regulations under the prevailing
Malaysian laws or where the law is silent, according to generally accepted
international standards. The Organiser reserves the right to stop any activity of any
Exhibitor should the said Exhibitor be deemed to have violated the rules and
regulations. Exhibitors shall have no claim against the Organiser for any delay,
interruption or failure of electricity supply to the Exhibitors at the Event from any
cause whatsoever.
10. FIRE REGULATIONS
All materials in the booth must comply with the prevailing Government regulations
on fire safety. The Organiser reserves the right to stop any activity that is deemed
a potential fire hazard.

The onus is on Exhibitors to take up appropriate insurance coverage against any
claims arising from injury to persons or loss of property in their respective booths
throughout the Event period. The Exhibitor agrees to indemnity the Organiser
against any injury or loss arising from the Exhibitor's participation in the Event.
The Organiser will provide guard service to the Venue during the hours the
Venue is closed from 9.30pm to 9.00am from 23 - 25 September 2016. However,
Exhibitors are solely and fully responsible for their own exhibit material and
should take necessary steps to insure their exhibit against loss or damage from
any cause whatsoever. All property of an Exhibitor is understood to remain in its
care, custody, and control, whether in transit to or from or within the confines of
the Event Hall. Exhibitors also agree to waive rights of subrogation against the
Organiser, its officers, directors, employees, and agents.
13. CLEANING
The Organiser shall provide routine cleaning services in the general area
throughout the Event period. Nevertheless, all Exhibitors are responsible for the
removal of their construction and storage materials and the daily maintenance of
their booths.
14. TERMINATION
The Organiser shall be entitled to terminate this Contract immediately by giving a
Notice of Termination in writing to the Exhibitor in the event the Exhibitor
breaches or fails to perform any obligation or provision under these Terms of
Contract. Upon receipt of the Notice of Termination from the Organiser by the
Exhibitor, all rights granted to the Exhibitor by the Organiser made under the
Contract shall cease and the Exhibitor shall immediately cease all participation in
the Event and shall remove all materials, posters and other items belonging to
the Exhibitor from the Exhibitor's booth(s). If the Exhibitor does not comply with
this provision within one (1) hour of receipt of the Notice of Termination, the
Organiser shall be entitled to evict the Exhibitor and remove all materials, posters
and other items belonging to the Exhibitor from the Exhibitor's booth(s). Upon
termination of this contract, the Organiser shall be entitled to retain any and all
payment (being payment for the Exhibitor's participation in the Event) made by
the Exhibitor to the Organiser.
15. QUALIFIERS
* Changes and Alterations
The Organiser reserves the right to change the Venue, size, date, booth
arrangement, assignment layout and duration of the Event should circumstances
warrant it, in which case, the agreement by the Exhibitor to participate shall
remain in force without entitlement to any claims for compensation or
replacement in connection with the changes.
* Interpretation
The Organiser reserves the right to make such changes, amendments and
additions to these terms as and when considered necessary for the proper
conduct of the Event. The interpretation of any terms and conditions rests
entirely with the Organiser whose decision shall be binding and final.
* Dispute and Arbitration
Any dispute between Organiser and Exhibitor regarding the interpretation of this
contract shall be referred to a mutually agreed independent arbitrator under
Malaysian law.
* Liability
Under no circumstances will the Organiser be liable for lost of profits or other
incidental or consequential damages. The Organiser shall not be liable for failure
to perform its obligations under this contract as a result of strikes, riots, acts of
God, or any other cause beyond its control. The rights of the Organiser under
this contract shall not be deemed waived except as specifically stated in writing
and signed by an authorized officer of the Organiser.
* Permission from Relevant Authorities
The Exhibitor shall be responsible to obtain permission for the use of any
intellectual property (IP) used during the Event from the IP owner or its
representative. The Exhibitors agrees to indemnity the Organiser against any
claims arising from such IP use. This Event is not a cheap sale event. Should
Exhibitors want to offer goods on cheap sale, they are solely responsible in
obtaining approval from the relevant authority.
16. EXHIBITION BOOTHS

These terms & conditions shall be binding on the Advertiser and be collectively referred to as the “Contract.”
Unless otherwise stated, the allocation of pages shall be on first-come-first-served basis. Page placement made by SHEDA is deemed
final.
SHEDA takes no responsibility for the accuracy/ validity/ claims/ statement/ representation in the artwork provided by Advertisers.
Advertisers agree to indemnify SHEDA against all claims, proceedings, costs, losses and damages including but not limited to libel,
slander or infringement of any intellectual property rights, howsoever arising, which SHEDA may sustain, incur or pay arising from this
Contract.
Full payment is payable to SARAWAK HOUSING AND REAL ESTATE DEVELOPERS‘ ASSOCIATION Bank Account Number :
31265 20221 (Public Bank ) upon the submission of the booking form.
Reservation of pages is only valid upon submission of the duly signed Advertisement Booking Form and full payment of the pages
selected.
Any cancellation after the issuance of the invoice must be made in writing to SHEDA within 14 days of the date of the Invoice and shall
be subject to a 50% charge of the Invoice (penalty charge).
Size of the advertisement per page is 210 mm x 297 mm (A4, full page). All advertisements and artworks shall be in full color.
Please provide artwork in high resolution, either in PDF or JPEG (minimum 300 dpi resolution) format.
Advertisers are to submit the final artwork by 26 July 2016 (Tuesday).
