The Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas is perfectly poised on Four Mile Beach and nestled within 130 hectares of lush
tropical gardens between the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest.
Tuition
Your tuition includes: Garden-view accommodations, six breakfast and two dinners, one massage treatment,
gratuities, and round-trip transportation between the resort and the Cairns Airport.
Guest Room Accommodations
Resort rooms feature either a king bed or two double beds, spacious living areas, marble bathrooms and offer views of
lush tropical gardens. Each room is approximately 42 square meters and is equipped with comfortable Sheraton Sweet
Sleeper beds, a flat screen television, an iPod docking station, a coffee/tea maker, and air conditioning.
Check-in time is 3:00 PM. Checkout time is 11:00 AM. The hotel will make every effort to accommodate arrivals
prior to the check-in time and late departures after the checkout time.
The Sheraton Mirage features two hectares of swimmable saltwater lagoon pools (fresh sea water is filtered and
pumped directly from the ocean). The resort also has an 18-hole golf course, aquatic diving range, tennis court, gym
and a 25 meter lap pool.
We have negotiated a special rate of $240 per room per night, tax included for the two nights prior to and the two
nights following the course. Extra nights are subject to availability.
Meals & Dining
There are four different venues for dining at the Sheraton Mirage:

Lagoons Restaurant, located one floor below the lobby, is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Il Pescatore Restaurant, located adjacent to the Lagoons Restaurant, is open most nights for dinner only.

Ocean Breeze Bar, located next to the lagoon pools offers light snacks and cocktails through the day
•
Daintree Lounge, located on the lobby level, serves evening cocktails and light supper daily.

Hotel Amenities and Local Attractions
The design of this course will allow you to have some time throughout the week to enjoy the amenities of the resort
and beautiful coastline of North Queensland, Australia.

General Information:
Geography: The Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort is located about one hour north of the Cairns International
Airport (CNS) and five minutes south of the town of Port Douglas.
Port Douglas is popular for its chic atmosphere and charm. Its many art galleries, cafes and boutique shops give this
special village a tropical resort atmosphere. You can easily walk the three kilometers along the beach to the town of
Port Douglas in roughly 30 minutes or you can take the public shuttle that leaves from the lobby every half hour, for
five dollars each way (five minutes ride by minivan).
Time Zone: Australian Eastern Standard Time (GMT +10:00 hrs)
Climate: Port Douglas’s temperature in October averages 22°C / 74°F.
Currency: The Australian Dollar is the local currency. One Australian Dollar is equivalent to .95 U.S. Dollar.
Passport: If you are traveling from outside Australia, you will need both a passport and visa. Please check with your

Air Travel: Please book your travels in and out of the Cairns International Airport [CNS]. The travel time between the
airport and resort is about one hour.

Ground Transportation: We have arranged for a transportation service to pick you up upon your arrival from the
Cairns Airport. Please look for a representative with Sun Palm Shuttle Service, +617.4099.1191, holding a Landmark
sign. If you not see the representative, please look for the Sun Palm welcome desk in the baggage claim area. Make
sure we have your correct arriving flight information no later than October 8, 2014.
Internet Connection: The Sheraton offers complimentary wifi internet in the lobby area either from your device/laptop
or through the various terminals as part of the Link@Sheraton service. Additional high-speed connections can be
accessed from other areas of the resort (such as the pools or your room) for a daily fee.
Phone calls: Most areas of the resort receive good cell phone signal and reception. Check with your mobile phone
provider to confirm coverage and to inquire into international rates and services. Telephone calls from your hotel
room will be billed to your room account.
Attire: The suggested attire for the course and the resort is casual. Several restaurants on the property suggest a
collared shirt and long pants for men. The other restaurants are casual.
Course Schedule: Most course sessions will be held in the Mirage ballroom located one level below the lobby
adjacent to the Lagoons Restaurant. Please see the enclosed course schedule for each day’s time and location. Please
wear to each session loose, casual clothing in which you will be comfortable lying on the carpet or doing very mild
exercises.
We will begin with a Welcome Session on Wednesday October 15 from 4:00 PM to 7:30PM (local time) in the Mirage
Ballroom. Each other day, Thursday thru Monday, we will meet for three hours either in the morning or afternoon. Our
final session on Tuesday, October 21 will be from 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM.
Massage at the Spa: One 50-minute massage at the Sunbird Spa has been included in your tuition. The Sunbird Spa
building is five minutes walk from most rooms or you can catch a shuttle and ask to be taken to the Sunbird building.

Gratuities: All gratuities at the resort have been prepaid. The exception would be off property excursions, massages
and other added services not included as part of the resort. Additional gratuity is at your discretion.
