90 Points YEAR`S BEST RIOJA!
AS SEEN IN DEC 2015 90 Points YEAR’S BEST RIOJA! Beronia Rioja Gran Reserva2006 “Year's Best Rioja. Fully mature, this has the sweetness of age, along with scents of fennel and spice. Its complexity runs on volatile acidity, adding a leathery note and aromatic lift to the flavor. Juicy and firm, this is ready to drink with roast lamb.“ AS SEEN IN SEPTEMBER 2015 91 Points Gran Reserva 2007 “Rooty, herbal, oaky aromas include notes of blackberry, raspberry and molasses. A layered, creamy palate has just enough structure and tannic grab to come across as firm. Charred, toasty flavors of oaky berry fruits and tobacco finish earthy, mature and lightly baked. ” 90 Beronia Gran Reserva 2007 “With a textbook, classical Rioja nose of coconut, vanilla, leather, cherries and balsamic woods with a distant lactic hint, the 2007 Gran Reserva from a harvest that saw over 400,000,000 kilos of grapes in Rioja, contains 6% Graciano and 2% Mazuelo beside the dominant Tempranillo from old vines aged in French oak barrels for 27 months. The time in oak has polished the wine but has not dried out the fruit, a problem very common in the long-aging wines, and has provided plenty of balsamic aromas, which are complicated by the time in bottle (the wine has been in bottle since November 2010). Beronia is owned by Gonzalez Byass from Jerez and produces reliable, commercial-driven wines that offer good value.” AS SEEN IN APRIL 2015 AS SEEN IN OCTOBER 2013 92 Points Gran Reserva 2006 “Beronia has blended modern and traditional touches to create a fine Gran Reserva with spice, vanilla, coconut, tobacco and dried berry aromas. The palate offers ripe tannins and kick, while the flavor profile is earthy, with mocha, coffee, chocolate and dried berry flavors. A long, lightly toasted and chocolaty finish provides a fitting end to an excellent wine.” AS SEEN IN ISSUE, SEPTEMBER 2013 Beronia Gran Reserva 2006 91 Points “This harmonious red is dense and lively, with plum, licorice, smoke and mineral flavors supported by moderate tannins and fresh acidity. Not assertive, but showing drive through the floral finish.” 88 Beronia Gran Reserva 2006 “ Shows the effect of a ripe vintage, with notes of prunes and dark plums and as a result of the long aging in oak there are balsamic notes of incense and old furniture. The palate reveals plenty of tannins with the fruit in the background.” AS SEEN IN DECEMBER 30TH 2013 AS SEEN IN DECEMBER 2013 88 Points Beronia 2006 Rioja Gran Reserva “As comfortable as a soft leather sofa, this wine’s red fruit settles into the gentle tannins of older oak. There’s a lot of maturity to it, with notes of balsamic, smoked peppers and touches of bitter char. It will dress up a Sunday roast.“
