DIGITAL BROCHURE
Berser Shipping was founded in Rotterdam Holland in 1979. In the early years the
company was acting as BENELUX agents for Beresford Transport in Stoke on Trent.
Rapidly the company took on the role of ‘gateway to Europe ‘ for many of the traditional
potteries in the English county Staffordshire. To support this role the number of activities
were rapidly extended. In order to support the Berser Group locally, Berser International
Cargo Services was founded in Stoke on Trent in 1989. Meanwhile both Berser Shipping
Holland B.V. and Berser International Cargo Services Ltd developed into Logistic Service
Providers with a broad range of services such as warehousing, pick and pack, world wide
shipping and transport. In this brochure you will find some examples of the Berser
activities in the year 2009.

European groupage
With a strong international network of
more than 20 partners in Europe,
BERSER continuously invests in
knowledge and equipment. In this way
BERSER meets the fluctuating wishes
and requirements of our customers.
BERSER offers door-to-door groupage
services to and from most destinations
in Europe. Fixed transit times are
maintained between the countries
concerned. The services include single
parcel
deliveries,
multi
parcel
groupage, part loads and full loads.
Every week over 200 departures are
available for destinations in Denmark,
Germany, Finland, France, United
Kingdom, Hungary, Ireland, Italy,
Croatia, Norway, Austria, Poland,
Portugal, Slovak Republic, Spain,
Czech Republic, Sweden
and
Switzerland.
Import – export overzee
In coöperation with the OEC group of
companies BERSER provides a 'one
stop shop' for companies looking to
deliver their product by sea. We
operate both export and import
NVOCC consolidations from and to the
main industrial centres in the Far East
and provide cost-efficient FCL services
across
the
globe.
All BERSER ocean services are
closely linked to the company's
European depot operations to provide
warehousing, distribution and added
value logistics services. OEC offices
are in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Xiamin,
Guangzou, Tianjin, Shenzhen, Qingao,
Dalian, Taipei, Jakarta, Bangkok,
Kobe, Seoul, Pusan

Customs Brokers
As part of our services, BERSER
has its own bonded warehouse
(ENTREPOT – C) and takes care
of the declaration of goods and the
payment of import duties and
excises. Via Sagitta there is an EDI
connection
(Electronic
Data
Interchange) with the customs
authorities.
For
many
years
BERSER has acted as fiscal
representative and has handled
INTRASTAT listings for overseas
companies. BERSER also has
special customs permission to
issue transit documents on their
behalf. In short, the complete range
of customs services is available to
the BERSER customers
Warehousing
Our warehouse of 50000 sq.ft is
located strategically near exit
number 12 on the A20 circular road
of Rotterdam. From our distribution
centre our trucks depart on a daily
basis to most destinations in
Europe. We also provide third party
stuffing and stripping of containers
as well as the ‘in house’ handling of
our NVOCC services. 10000 sq.ft
of our warehouse is equipped
according to the CPR 15.2
standard to handle hazardous
goods.

Pick and pack
Pick and pack, re-packing and
order assembly are among the
daily activities in our distribution
centre.
Our
warehouse
management
system
(WMS)
manages stocks for our customers
and allows for stock status
availability on the internet. As a
standard service we deliver goods
the next day after receipt of the
order,
throughout
BENELUX.
BERSER manages all order sizes
from small parcels to complete
trucks.
Container trucking
The Container Trucking department
is specialised in transport of all
sorts of containers, both in The
Netherlands as well as abroad and
has developed on a large scale in
the
recent
past.
BERSER
professionally
meets
the
contemporary
requirements
of
container shipping companies and
shipping agencies. Experienced
drivers make use of a modern fleet,
which is equipped according to
ADR standards.
Drivers are
equipped with an electronic cargo
card and electronic pre-alerts are
sent to the various container
terminals in order to avoid
unnecessary waiting hours.

Retail deliveries
Our warehouse is the regional
depot for the national distribution
system TEAMTRANS. Teamtrans
is an alliance between 15 transport
companies
throughout
The
Netherlands.
Between
these
transport companies a trunking
system is operational to cater for
next day delivery of even the
smallest
parcels.
Annually,
2000000
consignments
are
delivered through the TEAMTRANS
system. On a daily bases 125
trucks are on the road on behalf of
the TEAMTRANS members to
deliver goods in every corner of the
Netherlands.
Pallet deliveries
BERSER uses trucks equipped
with hydraulic tail lifts for the
delivery of pallets throughout
BENELUX.
Consignments
are
handled in the center of the
BeNeLux. Consignment information
is communicated with our drivers
through our transport management
software system (TMSS). Exact
consignment details are therefore
available to our drivers ‘en route’
avoiding errors when collecting
consignments.
In 2006 this pallet system will cover
western Europe

Courier services
If the pressure is on, the production
line is down or your customer
needs the goods by yesterday, the
solution is simple. One telephone
call to BERSER and one of our
delivery vans or small trucks will be
at your doorstep straight away to
make a direct delivery to your
customer. We own several small
vans with a capacity of 500 to 3000
kgs. Naturally we can also use one
of our artic trailers for a special
delivery. In other words ‘the sky is
the limit’

role to the traditional pottery industry
in the English county Staffordshire,

B.V.
operates daily services from and to
the United Kingdom in cooperation
with Berser International Cargo
Services Ltd,
Stoke on Trent.
Depending on the type of product or
the customers wishes, the goods will
be shipped with accompanied trailers
or with unaccompanied trailers. A
fleet of 13.60 meter box, tilt and
tautliner trailers are at our disposal.
The fact that BERSER use multiple
routes across the channel increases
the flexibility towards our customers.

Account management
At BERSER we use the system of account management. Using this system our
customers do not need to contact the individual specialist within BERSER
creating a direct link between the BERSER employee in charge and the customer.
The account manager monitors all the transports and stock movements within the
various departments of BERSER and is responsible and accountable towards the
customer for the full range of logistic services. Obviously, the account manager
has a broad experience in the various methods of transport and shipping
