KANGA – SAVING TIME, MAKING YOU MONEY
MACHINERY KANGA – SAVING TIME, MAKING YOU MONEY CHRIS BERRY TALKS WITH LEWIS MESSENGER OF WIGTON Lewis’ work today encompasses a wide range of fencing tasks from stock fencing, including post and rail, security fencing and an increasing share of the housing estate market. He puts up all manner of fencing from timber to steel. After reading about the impact KANGA loaders have had for other fencers and landscapers right across the UK, Cumbria-based Lewis Messenger felt he just had to find out what all the fuss was about. He very soon found out and has been overwhelmed with just how well his new KANGA TK216 has performed in the relatively short time since he started using it. ‘I read about the KANGA compact skid steer loaders in recent issues of the Fencing News magazine and was very impressed with what the other owners had said about them,’ says Lewis. ‘I just had to see for myself how good they were and I arranged for a demonstration. As soon as I tried it out I knew it would be ideal for my business and I bought the TK216 model in October. I have already used it on a variety of jobs and it has certainly saved me considerable time and is making me money.’ Kanga’s claim that their machine has changed the face of the workplace for many industries is borne out by the way in which it has transformed 74 ‘Machines like the KANGA really do make a difference when you’re trying to make a living out of a business. Anything that saves time on one job helps you to do even better in the future. That’s what it is already doing for me.’ Lewis’ business. ‘The KANGA TK216 is now an essential part of my work. I use it nearly every day and it is great for digging holes and carrying whatever load we need for a job whether that is concrete or timber. It is a very robust and highly effective machine with the size and manoeuvrability to get into nearly anywhere. It has been the best purchase I have made. I am getting jobs completed far quicker than fencing news December 2010 I ever could before. I don’t think I could manage without it right now.’ Lewis’ business trades as LM Messenger and his main trade is in fencing, although he also combines tree work with this. After leaving school he first became a tree surgeon before starting out as a part-time worker with a fencing company. He then moved on to a bigger wage working full-time for another fencing company before going it alone. Lewis is one of the youngest fencing and tree work men around. Just turned 20 he also has a full-time man working with him too. He operates from his home town of Wigton in North West Cumbria and covers the whole of West Cumbria from Carlisle to the coast and down to Kendal.
